  1. Mathews DXT with Carbon Express Maxima Hunters and Rage 2 blades
  2. I shot a buck in the front shoulder with a rage 3 blade and it didn't even penetrate deep enough to draw blood. Just muscle tissue on the broadhead. Now granted that was not a good shot but it should have penetrated farther than that.
  3. With deer hunting there is absolutely no such thing as can't miss. But two things I can't live without now when I'm hunting are rangefinder and my scent control clothing. But with scent control clothing you have to go all out head 2 toe, scent free showers, not putting clothes on till you get in the field, etc, etc.
  4. Hard to tell but he looks like hes got pretty decent width. I think 150+ for score.
  5. Without knowing the topography a couple places that look excellent to me are (I'm assuming north is up): The southwest corner of west corn field. There is a good inside corner there with clover too. Defintely would check there first, looks great. There is also a good inside corner with clover on the east side of the east cornfield. Plus there are two draws that come off of the bigger draw. Great pinch point. Also the longer skinny clover plot on the western property looks like a good spot. Kinda close to the road but looks like its tucked back far enough for the deer to feel comfortable as vehicles drive by. Too many good spots to list em all. Your gonna be in deer heaven. Good Luck
  6. Corn, soybeans, clover, chicory, alfalfa, winter wheat, turnips, sorghum among many others. Clover is probably the most general best answer. Need more info to give a more specific answer. Are you doing a food plot? How big? What other food sources are close? What part of season are you hunting (early, middle, late). And so on. There are a bunch of factors that can play into what is best to plant to attract deer.
  7. I didn't like the 3 blades so I switched to 2 blades last year and got along great. I agree with the earlier post about them coming open in your quiver, very annoying. But when you see that 3+ inch entrance hole it's worth all of the drawbacks.
  8. Bigger one is about 125 Smaller one about 115.
  9. Don't have one but I havent read good things. You can read a review of it at chasingame.com
  10. He looks kinda scrubby, might be a shooter in a couple years.
  11. You can use corn in missouri, but the site has to be completely cleaned 30 days before season, if I recall correctly.
  12. I don't think you can because the broadhead is a little different.
  13. Yeah a target with hay as a backstop works great. Just make sure you get hay not straw. Straw probably won't stop arrows.
  14. Rage 2 blades again this year. Got along really well with them last year after trying the 3 blades the year before and not having much luck.
  15. I have posted this video before but i am curious to see what everybody thinks the inside spread is on this deer? You might have to pause it at the beginning to get a good look. I am guessing 20-21. I'll post the best pic I have of him. Also what about score. I'm thinking mid 130 gross maybe a little higher.
  16. I am planning on getting new custom arrows. I am looking at Carbon Express Maxima Hunters. I have always shot CX arrows since I switched to carbon. The maxima hunters are kinda high but I thought I would try them through my Mathews DXT. I want some high quality arrows.
  17. I am looking for a good online store to order custom arrows online. Anybody have any good stores that do quality work and have good prices? I am considering CX Maxima Hunters with quickspins and wraps.
  18. ok, try baiting with corn if its legal. Or salt/minerals.
  19. If you are trying to stick a big one early season I would back off the field about 100yds. Look for rubs (old and new). Alot of the bigger bucks will stage up inside the timber aways and wait until last light to come onto the field. You can chance it on the field edge and hope he comes out while you can still see your pins. I shot one last year on sept. 18 at the very end of shooting light as he stepped out of the woods. I heard him rubbing trees in the timber a little earlier, so it would have been better to be in the timber (except it was on the neighboring farm).
  20. Triple post, I suck, but it looks like he tore some of his velvet off his g-2 on his left side, too.
