  1. I think it is absolutely worthless. I've called in a bunch of p&y class deer with other calls but i've had a can for 5 yrs and never had a single deer come to it. I use to use a grunt call that you could adjust to make doe bleats and I called in several deer with it. I;m done "experimenting" with the can call so I can sell you one if you want it.
  2. Your boss might be one of those guys that if he had a picture of that deer he would be talking about what a monster that buck is. Otherwise he has absolutely no idea what he is talking about:). That deer will gross about 145" Maybe a little more.
  3. B/c you kick yourself for not being there. My stand is about 12 yards to the right of the camera. I didn't know this first buck existed until he crossed the road in front of me one night earlier this week. I checked my camera and I had these pics of him. I think he is only a 3 yr old. He has enormous potential. I would love to see what he looks like in a couple of years but given the chance I don't think I would let him make it that long. The second buck I have been getting pics of him every since I put my cameras out in july and I have yet to see him even though I have several daylight pics of him. This is the same buck. Heres another look. I count 14 pts.
  4. What a shame:( I hope nobody shoots him this year b/c I would love to see what that left side looks like next year. Think he might be a shooter next year?
  5. He'll gross 150 easy. Probably in the mid 150's. He is awesome regardless.
  6. Here are some pics from the last few weeks. I have posted other pics of some of these deer but some are the first pics i have got of them. These first 2 are the same deer. Looks like he had his eye put out in a fight. I thought the first pic was kinda cool b/c you can see the shadow of his rack on his body
  7. Here are some more bucks from the last couple of weeks.
  8. I haven't seen this buck since early july. Glad to get a picture of him. He looks as good as I remember:D. This pic is about 1 1/4 mile from where i saw him in july. He's a stud
  9. I always say "if you have to think about it, then he isn't a shooter" Wait for one you know you want to shoot as soon as you see him. You can't kill a big deer if you shoot a decent one.
  10. I bought one of them off of ebay. The seat is by far the most comfortable one i have sat in. They are extremely light and that makes the setup easier. I highly recommend one.
  11. Wtnhunt, they are both the same buck. Just thought I would clarify.
  12. I think the one in front in these top 2 pics is a 3 yr old. I think the other bucks behind him are 2 yr olds (they are 2 different bucks). The 2 yr old in the top pic has a very pretty rack and tons of potential don't you think?
  13. Check out this series of pics. It's a couple of bucks with bad attitudes and bad genes going at it by a scrape. One is the drop-tine buck I posted pics of earlier. I believe he is 7 yrs old. His body is freaking huge!! Who do you think won?
  14. Hey todd you can get the external batteries for about $40 including shipping on bossbuck.com. They are expensive but when you figure the price of 6 C batteries it will save you alot in the long run.
  15. I have had the same problem. Cuddeback really screwed up when they changed the design of their cameras. You have to be very gentle when you close the case so you don't jar the batteries.
  16. It isn't just you todd. I went through 2 new sets of batteries and had about 40 pictures in 2 1/2 to 3 weeks on my v-450. I called customer service and I sent it in today. The customer service guy said batteries should last about 2 weeks. I told him that was freaking ridiculous. Then he said that with an external 12v battery it would last 6-8 weeks which is b.s. I have 2 of them and they only last about half that long on the older cameras. I guess they are just trying to sell more batteries. I hope there is something wrong with it because if I get it back and it does the same thing it will go directly to ebay. My v-550 does better but not much. I turned the resolution down to conserve battery life. I am pretty disappointed b/c everything else about the camera's are great.
  17. I agree. That coon will be hard to pass up...... As far as the buck. That is a no brainer. Let him have it. He is pretty
  18. Here is a couple bucks from my stealth cams. This is him in velvet. About 1/2 mile away and on the other side of the road. This one is in a different area. I would like a crack at him.
  19. Here are the pics I pulled from my cuddeback today. Got a litte bit of everything. Only two deer but they were both good ones. The first buck is a drop-tine I have been seeing for the last 3 years. I have a shed of his 03 and 06 racks. He is at least 7 yrs old. In 2005 he had a matching drop tine on the left side but he lost it in 06. I have seen him countless times when cruising the roads in summer and in winter. I have only seen him once while hunting. It was late last december. He was with a fawn doe and it was almost 3 miles from where this picture was taken. About 5 days after I saw him last year I had pictures in the same area where this one was taken. He has a huge area he covers (mostly open). I believe he lives mostly on a farm that is 99% open except for a thin strip of woods you could spit across and a couple of grassy waterways. That is where I always see him in the summer and winter. He won't score worth a darn but I have been dying to kill him. I probably won't see him though.
  20. This buck has some character don't you think. I first thought he had a little drop tine but I think it is a strip of velvet hanging down. What do you all think. I can't believe this buck still has his velvet. I have never seen one that late with velvet. He's big, he's mature, he's got character, this my friends is a shooter!
  21. Here is a couple of nice bucks from the cuddeback. I posted pics of one already but this is a new pic (looks just like the other one though. Any ideas why the buck in the bottom picture has only one horn?
  22. Your right they are way to long. I tuck them into pockets on the legs of my pants.
  23. The actual nose is not shorter on mature deer. They just look that way due to the blocky appearance of a more mature deers face. It is more filled out and the nose is fatter which makes the nose appear shorter. If you look at pictures of does they "appear" to have the longest noses of any deer because they are much skinnier. That is my opinion. Oneida man and I will have to agree to disagree.
