Re: TURKEY TEAM #14 My little brother woke 3 Rios up this morning with the ol' owl hooter. One longbeard and 2 jakes, several hens too but they don't really count.

Re: My turkey Hunting Anthem for \'07 That kind of scares me just reading it. But it might be pretty sweet.

Re: Ted Nugget...Outdoor Channel... [ QUOTE ] i dont watch Ted Nugget. i just cant stand the guy. [/ QUOTE ] I can't either. His endless babbling drives me insane. Didn't care for Zumbo much either, but still think people/sponsors were too hard on him.

Re: 2 3/4\" Fraternity Yep, I carry a rem. 1100 that shoots 2 3/4 #6's. I have no problem killing birds out to 40 yards. I even downed one bird at 47 yards. My wifes first turkey was shot with this gun at 43 yds. They will definitely do the trick. I did knock "one" down that got up and flew off. However, we stepped off the distance at 54 yards. He was standing over a little rise that made him appear a lot closer. Less than thirty yards...Game over...I win everytime. I also carry a mossberg that shoots 3" #4. I only use it when my wife or dad has my remington 1100

Re: Blinds? Who uses them??? I used a blind last year, not sure of the brand. I won't be doing that next season. The deer spotted us right away, everytime they came in. We hid it well too. They would probably work well if the deer got used to them.

Re: texas rio\'s whose going out his saturday????????? yup, I will be hunting north central texas (montague county). can't wait to get after them. been seeing three gobblers and several jakes/hen. should be a great season. -
Re: TURKEY TEAM #14 can't be on the bottom...TTT Is anyone else going to chase any Rios, or are you guys gonna stick to those eastern birds? Oklahoma has them both, so I am pretty lucky to get to hunt both of them.

Re: What do you think? That looks like a lot of fun to me... Can't wait to see them hanging upside down on a limb. Great pic.

Re: emailed my congressmen here is the repsonse from mine: Dear Mr. Willmon, Thank you for contacting me about gun ownership rights. I appreciate hearing your views on this important matter. I am strongly opposed to any limitations on the United States Constitution's Second Amendment rights of law-abiding gun owners. While no one condones the purchase and use of guns by felons or other high-risk individuals to perpetrate any crime, we must not improperly hamper the right of law-abiding citizens to bear or purchase arms. If we are to honor and uphold our nation's Constitution, this right cannot be infringed. The key to curbing the unlawful use of firearms is the stricter enforcement of existing laws. There are about 20,000 firearms laws already on the books in this country. To prevent crime, we must fully enforce those laws already on the books. I am disappointed to see that the laws currently being considered by Congress are merely an attempt to make people feel more secure without providing any real security. Someone who is truly bent on using a gun to commit a crime will find a way to obtain one regardless of what laws are imposed. We cannot erode our constitutional rights in the name of crime prevention, and I will oppose any legislation that seeks to do so.

Re: Daddy\'s Girl Here are two more pictures from that day. Mommy catching a bass and giving the peace sign and Debbie giving mom some lovin'.
-
Here is a picture of my daughter Debbie with her first bass. He weighed about a pound and she was really excited. So excited, when I told her to give the fish a kiss before we let it go, she bit it on the lip and wouldn't let go for about five seconds. What a great day, we made a ton of memories. I am sure she will appreciate this photo when she gets a little older. Here ya go:

This is my first time posting a picture, so here goes. The rancher told us he had a yearling buck that fed with his steers everyday. We kind of thought he just fed close to them. When we pulled into the steer pasture, all of the steers came running up and sure enough the nubbing head was right in the middle of them. Don't know how this came to be, but it sure is funny/cute. Sorry for the picture quality, it was taken with my cell phone. Hope yall enjoy.

Re: Hunting Rios in Oklahoma The best advice I can give is to hunt them in the evening. Rios seldomly change roost sites. Waste away the first morning listening for them and find exactly where they are roosting. That evening you will be fine. I use an extremely loud Knight and Hale Box call when I hunt Rios. The terrain is usually flatter and and doesn't carry sound as well as the thick forest you are hunting in PA. Not all Rios, but most of them, will investigate almost any call. You will be fine. They are a ton easier to call than Eastern birds. Relax and good luck.

Re: camo shotguns I have an aftermarket camo stock. Instead of buying a new gun, I would suggest (ifyou want camo) to check out synthetic aftermarket camo stocks. I got mine on sale at walmart for $54 bucks. Mine is a remington, but I am sure you can find a winchester stock if you do a search on google. Having said this, I have killed most of my turkeys before the camo stock with both black and wood finsih.

Re: TURKEY TEAM #14 I second the strut zone snipers... sweet name if you ask me.
-
Re: Logging before season should be great if they are done.... turkeys in our area always hit new clearcuts/burns...the majority of our hunting land is mature pines, clearcuts give them plenty of new "stuff" to scratch around in. you should be good to go.

Re: Truck cd player help! When they get stuck in mine, I use an old worn out cd to pry down on the top of the stuck cd. It usually works for me. I have a 6 disc changer (ford stock) and mine always get stuck. Hope that helps. Dave
