  1. I had sold my Benneli supernova to buy a 870 SP, I really loved the gun, the gun just feels really comfy, and the R3 pad is the best factory pad if you ask me. But i couldn;t hit nothing with the 870. I felt like there was no lead in my bullets . After puting the gun aside for a while and only using my benneli SBE2 i bought a kicks choke tube for the benneli and thought id buy one for the 870 also. OMG it went from me not hitting anything to me just expolding everything. I dropped a mallard at at least 70 yards with a kicks Xfull choke. I was dropping ducks at distences i normaly wouldn;t even of lifted my gun to try.
  2. My brother inlaw had bought one of thoes guns, I took it out goose/duck hunting one morning. I never regreted bringing a gun in my life. What a POS, it jamed every 2nd shot, the action was sloppy and it felt like i had a toy gun in my hands. I will stick with my benneli super black egale 2, and my remington 870 SP. IMO you can;t go wrong with a remington 870 supermag (not express), i have never even heard of sombudy having a problem with this gun.
  3. Gold tip carbons and rage 3 blades, When i made the switch i also switched from 125gr to 100 gr. Im never gonna look back The reason i switched over was i dont have to worrie about bending a arrow when travling. With carbon its ither straight or its broken.
  4. good to hear i was a bit nerved that it wasnàt enough power. But ill just aim for the head
  5. Same here, awesome lil unit and IMO you can never go wrong with anything from leupold. If lepold made condoms they would be the ones id use
  6. I personaly do strips, say 20by100 in your case, or whatever you want. You would be able to plate 5 diffrent plantes, every area have diffrent things deer like better. Fall rye is what deer like the most in my area, I put my trail camera up to see what strip they spent the most time in and i would get 10 pictures in the fall rye for 1 picture in anything else. Every year you will learn about your land, its been 10 years i been doing it now and i still feel like i have lots to learn.
  7. haha you can voice your thoughts but when i do im pot stirring makes sence
  8. You nailed it, its a bit frustrationg geting called a "not real archer" by another hunter that judge ppl by the weapon they use.
  9. oh you want food for thought? heres some, you are comenting on somthing you never tryed. So how can you give your thoughts on it when you never hunted with the weapon your giving your opinion on? You know when you have a convo with a non-hunter that say deer hunting is eazy because they see them all over on the side of the roads. They compair deer hunting with shooting cows in a field. Well i dont need to say the rest
  10. Is it just me but all im hearing is boo hoo i might to have to let sombudy else injoy somthing i love also. Alot more ppl in the deer woods means is you have to go a lil more out of your way, I hunt in bow season in a area that is crawling with ppl everyplace. I pride myself on being able to hunt succesful in this area. This is what separates the good hunters and the bad hunters. But i see your really worried about it ---------><--------
  11. Because i got the last coment in does that mean i win?
  12. hunting is one of the most expensive sports, every time i think im set somthing else comes out that i HAVE to have.
  13. im from north bay ontario. There isn;t meny canadiens in here eh
  14. I been doing footplots on my land for approx 10 years now. I found on my land the less work i do the better my foodplot grows. What i do is wait tell all the natural plants are grown then i spray, 2 weeks later i will brodcast my seed and fertalizer one after the other. What i think this does is make shade for the seed with the dead grass that i had allready killed and helps it in that crusal first stages. I found this out with my lazy buddy, he did half the field and i did the other. He didn;t till or pretty much do any work and on my side i put all this work and his side grew so much better then mine. So the next year i tryed not tilling and wow it grew so well. Donno if it will work for others but it worked great for me for a long time now.
  15. I was in the same boat as you, i wanted one really bad. I just bought a savege liminated stock with SS barrel and the accu triger what a beautiful lil gun. My buddy bought one b4 me and i went hunting with him last year and i was blown away by the accuracy of this gun and how flat it shot.
  16. 1: i have to lift the big heavy ackward crossbow in a pressence of a deer, and also remove the safty (some crossbows very noicy) 2 : Yes i have to let down the crossbow, try holding a crossbow with all the weight of the limes at the front end of the bow for a long time. GOOD LUCK 3 : Yes crossbows have yardege crossairs built into the scope, or some ppl use a peepsight, so its not just point and shoot you have to range your animal and pick your distence. 4: If you shoot seating down there is barly any movment diffrence betwin the 2. Unless you hold your crossbow in your hands in the ready hold, there is alot more movment to be done with a crossbow IMHO
  17. I had a foxpro caller and here in northern ontario i had no luck what so ever. i had better luck with primos ki-yi and hotdog.
  18. Just because its legal it dosn;t mean its a ethical way of hunting. Yeah your right a crossbow is just like a gun, we just seat that thing on a rail and wait for the deer to come to the exact spot we need it and just press that triger, Dont even need to move , Also when you hunt with a crossbow you dont smell anymore so the deer have no problems geting close to you.
  19. So your telling me 35lbs is ethical to shoot a deer? personaly i would never send sombudy in the woods with a 35lbs bow to hunt deer. Because sombudy shoots a crossBOW there not a real archery hunter? wow, I can;t even coment on that without saying somthing rude. Your last coment thats another thing that frustraters me, Because your deer hunting on state land that means nobudy else should be hunting a diffrent animal then you? Nobudy should be driving atv's on state land when your hunting also i bet? EAZY? i personly dont coment on somthing that i never tryed
  20. Sheesh one cannot have a opinion without being called a pot stirer
  21. Here where i am we hunt timberwolf and for them we use bait, and foxes are on the bait all day. We can not hunt a night here but i thought the foxes we;re on the bait so much during the day was because if they we;re on it at night the timberwolfs would eat them as bait also If its legal to bait them they just go to your local butcher and ask for any scraps you can get. Its the only way to get a timber here, thoes things are just 2 smart
  22. Good or bad idea to try a 17 hmr on a yote? i saw the damege it did on a rabbit and i was very impressed with this lil gun. I just bought one and im kinda ithching to shoot somthing with it.
