The facts are that most crimes that are committed are race specific meaning that the chances are that if you are killed, raped or robbed and are black it will be by a black person, if you are white by a white person or if you are mexican it will be by a mexican person. I am not sure what is going of in WV or WY but here in IL we have plenty of white trash degenerates, smoking meth, taking oxycontin, robbing people, killig people and molesting children. The reason that there is a "Black History Month" is becouse up until 1960 there was institutionalized discrimination in this country that kept blacks from voting, holding office and achieving prosperity. Before that in a large part of the United States black people were owned as property. For that very reason just about every President and national figure for the first 200+ years of our country has been a white male. So in order to raise awarness about the contributions of black poeple in this country they have black history month. What is wrong with kids learning about Harriet Tubman, Fredrick Douglass and George W. Carver among others? I don't see what the big stink is about...but that is just me. What are some reasons that we shouldn't have it? Also it is not like that in Febuary they stop celebrating recognizing white males contributions to this country. If I am not mistaken we still observe Vladmir Pulaski day, Abe Lincolns B-day and Washington's B-day all during the "Black History Month." Big deal...lets have the month...Im all for kids learning differing views of the world and how things were different for different people during some eras of this nations history.

There might be some science behind this. Personally I think scents are sometimes effective but are way overrated. If I had to choose between baiting, calls and scents I would choose having the ability to use audilble calling (grunt tube, rattling) almost every time. I don't know the science behind it be I sure wouldn't want to touch deer pee collected from a heard with CWD. There also could be a risk to hunters from this stuff. Just wait until a hunter comes down with the disease...I will bet you 10 - 1 that you will see a product liability lawsuit filed against deer urine marketers...if there is some science to back it up. I will keep using deer urnine...but it would be nice to know that the deer they were taken from are healthy.

My advice. Get higher in the tree to let you scent blow over. Use the Wal-mart brand scent spray to kill your b/o. By a pack of malboro lights and smoke in the stand. You rarely get busted with this combo...at least if works for me. I don't own any expensive scent lock clothing. I also let my clothes outside b/f I hunt. I am convinced that the smoke smell is not related to humans for most deer and actually kills human odor. I have deer (big bucks included) coming in down wind of me all the time and it doesn't fail me.

Wow!!!!

Here are the pics. Also...here are a few pics of the deer from August. I checked his teeth I they seem like a 2.5 yr/old to me. He sure would have been a monster in 2 years but he is a real trophy for my brother today anyway.

Very cool. Congrats to Skye...he is one heck of a little hunter. What type of camera you using?
-
Great buck. The rage did the work. Good job on a dandy deer.
-
Well we found him no problem. He had only went about 50-60 yards. Casey lunged him and took out one ventricle with the rage two blade, beman arrow and bowtech rig. He darn near walked over him on the way out the the woods as he was laying about 3 feet off the trail but with no light he couldn't see him or the blood. He is a real nice wide eight with an 18 1/2 inch inside spread. Probalby goes mid-130s but we will have to put the tape to him...I wouldn't be surprised if he grosses in the low 140s. I have plenty of pictures but it is my gramps camera and I don't have the right camera to hook it up the the computer. I thought it was the same at the PS3 cables but this one has something different. I will post pic when I get home tommorow. I am so happy for my bro...this is his first P&Y buck!!! Way to Casey!!!

My brother Casey called me on my way home from work and said he shot a nice buck. Not sure how big it is but hopefully I will have some pics later tonight. He said he thought he heard him crash and saw blood on the ground but didn't have a flashlight. I am going to stop my wally-world and pic up propone and batteries. I help my wife get my boy bathed and to bed and then I am driving out to the farm to help him with the recovery. Sounds like it might be the 130 inch buck that I had field cam pics off. We shall see. Check back in a 10 or 11 for an update. Cross your fingers. Talk later.

That sounds painful.

Great deer. And great story. You smoked him. Congrats.
-
I might call you on my lunch break tommorw and see if you got a pike county bruiser down. Good luck.

I have been having real good luck with the rattling/grunt/snort combinations. I have rattled in 4 bucks over the last 3 weeks. The 160 incher that I shot and lost...a 130 inch buck on this Saturday morning and 2 forkhorns Sunday morning. Scraps and rubs have been active for about 2 weeks...but a few does are in estrous already in Southern IL. My buddy saw a buck breeding a doe as he was jogging down the bike trail in town over the weekend. Maybe the cold weather is just making them real horny. The real hot time of the year for central/southern Il. is Nov. 5th thru 15th IMHO. You might as well stick it out in the stand all day from about November 1st thru gun season b/c a buck will stay with a doe for half a day and breed her a few times and then be on the move for his next love affair. You stay in the tree and a bruiser is bound to come trotting by at any time. Good luck everyone...I am over my deppression from losing the 160inch 8pt.....after a few xanax.

You should have shoot the doe for being a child molester.

I am not proud b/c my skin is white. I am 25% Armenian but most of you don't probably know what that is. What I am proud of is my family, my education, my upbringing and my God and my country. As for complaining about being white in America I can't stand that as much as I can't stand it when blacks cry, or Mexicans or whoever. Don't teach your kids to have excuses...teach them to judge people based on what they do and not what they are. I'm going to bed. Good luck huntin this week. Remember deer don't discrimanate...if you don't get a big buck you can't blame that on affirmative action. Its probably b/c you are too busy crying about minorities ruining this country and not out in a tree stand killing a big buck.

I have been having a lot of good luck rattlin. Rattle up a 130 incher saturday morning and a two fork horns on Sunday morning.
-
Here in IL we would probalby let him walk! In another year or two he might have been a good shooter!!
-
That is a crazy looking buck.
-
I pretty much lost interest after Holiday dropped that fly ball in the 9th. Rams suck also...along with bears....I guess I will just hunt until March Madness starts. However, things could be worse...I could have been born a Cubs fan.
-
Great Sooner buck. However, why didn't you use that cape for the other buck that got ate up by coyotes and you need a cape for? Why did you cut the head off if you are need'in a cape?
-
Great buck. What part of Kansas you live in...or were you just visiting.

I know of a couple good little bars around Virginia but I won't be up that way for a few more weeks. I will be hunting at the inlaws farm in Jasper County this weekend. Hopefully I do a better job of finishing if I get a big bruiser under my stand tommorow night or Sunday morning. Good luck in Il Tink...make sure to post some pics of your hunt.
