You want to keep your kids out of school so not see the President talk about the importance of education? I remember televised speaches of George Bush and I think Ronnie Reagan. Not sure what you are trying to accomplish here...do you not let your children be exposed to T.V. or newspapers. Do what you think is right as a parent...but remember that your children have their own minds and eventually must think for themselves. Anyways...I think he just talked about the importance of education. I think it is great that the President can take a few hours out of each year to tell the future leaders, workers and protectors of this country that what they are doing is important and to work hard in school. I guess you were afraid you kids were going to come home and talk about how cool the President was on t.v in school today...man...that would have been a shame.

Great photo...I have never seen a deer like that in the flesh...only in magazines. Awsome.

He is running with a 4 1/2 year old 8 pt that probably goes 150 net. I want a pic of him b/c he is a real dandy. Saw him in the bean field week ago Sunday...he was out there with this one and a six for over an hour at dusk. Hopefully I get a pic of the bigger deer before season opens here on Oct. 1.

I got a pic of this doe on camera...last year the neighbor kid shot a doe in this same timber with a Crimson Talon fixed blade with two expanders. Told me he smoked her in the sholder and she took of up the hill. Will we found the arrow up the hill a little bit, plenty of blood but no deer...what do ya'll think of that spot on her shoulder...could it be the same doe?

Everthing above plus... Well first of all...you are in a good state to hunt whitetials. There are good deer in NE. I would order a good hunting magazine that gives tips. This sounds stupid but hit the library and read the deer special issues of outdoor life and f&S...that should help quit a bit. Then get your bow sigthed in real good and become automatic out to 40 yards...buck fevor can be real bad even for the best archers. I would suggest you get a 3d deer target and shoot the heck out of it. lastly....start spending a bunch of time in a tree. If you bowhunt the main rut probably aroudn Nov. 5 - 15th in your neck of the woods just being in a tree and practicing scent control will be enough...take a grunt call or doe bleat and hit it every once in a while. However, at that time bucks are running hard after does and you might just hook up with a giant NE whitetial your first year out. Remember...you can't kill a big buck while of RT forums...you have to get in the woods. Good luck and remember to have fun. Even a small buck is a trophy if it is your first.

Probalby the wiskers of an alien and is the size of a spider.

Good luck!! He is one beautiful buck.

Congratulations on your buck. Seems like it was well deserved. Hopefully that 8 grows into a somthing really big next year.

I don't like taxes either...I have to pay a boatload of them. However, I do like good schools, roads and all the good things that are in this country. We are in debt becouse we still spend more on all these things than we take in on taxes. As far as getting ahead is sounds like your Great Grandmother had it figured out...look to her as an example. Paying some taxes on an enormous sum of inhereted money seems like a problem that I wouldn't mind having? Count yourself as lucky...most of us don't have rich Aunts.

This makes good sense...oil exploration in somewhere other than the middle east or Russia lessens our dependencies on those suppliers. By making the U.S. or U.S. banks will have some right in the event of a bankruptcy for the assets or get paid back. The U.S. then gets to keep our oil reserves untapped...which may become a very strategic asset in our children's or grandchildren's lives.

Wowzers!!!! That double split brow buck just gave me heart palpitations. Truly amazing bucks. Good luck.

I just read a few of these post more closely and it sort of got me going a little bit. However, as Abe Lincoln once said.... "I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts." So I am not going to get down in the mud with you all. Just going to try to educate you a bit.

I suppose you meant a figurative "slap" which I am fine with if you have your facts striaght. Here is are a couple "slaps in the face", figurativly of course that might help you understand this stuff a little better. Argueing for arguments sake get us now where real fast. We must try to get some better system so that 20% year-over-year HC inflation ceases to exist. The current employer based HC system only exists due to economic incentives given to employers...they don't pay tax and neither do employees on HC premiums or self insured HC costs. In return for this perk. Employers must agree to except all employees into their HC plans regardless or pre-existing HC conditions. They also can't discriminate in hireing based on age, sex or your medical conditions. Just think how hard it would be to get a job if part of the interview was a physical. Here are some of the people I wouldn't hire or would pay less. Women (babies are expensive and they get off work), Smokers, those who are overwieght, Men over 50 ect...I think you get the point here. The current employer based system...Aetna, BCBS, Cigna, United Health ect. Do a pretty good job at restricting care and driving lower costs from providors. For those who are self employed, small businesses with less that 25 or so employees and those who don't work and are inelgible for M-care & M-caid, health insurance/HC is very expenisve if they have any type of pre-existing medical condition. Why...becouse in the self-pay market they can look at your medical history. The proppsals that are going to come out are to A) build off the success of the employer based system, B) to try to lower overall HC costs and C) offer affordable hc coverage to those 46mm Americans who are currently able to afford or refuse to pay for coverage. Currently nearly 30% of Americans are enrolled government funded HC programs. Seems that the government is rather "involved" already. Ultimalty not doing something is not fiscal conservatism...why you ask? B/c the costs get paid anyway and usally after the uninsured individual b/c to sick or has a medical emergency...either way..they still can't pay and either the governemnt pics up the tab or private insurers pay in the form of higher rates. Who ends up losing for not insuring these people in the first place???? You and I in the form of higher taxes or lower wages. You pick your poison but for me...it makes sense to get these people HC from the beginning so they can get preventative care they can pay for and then hopefully prevent the the major catastrophic HC events. The plan will give an option for small business and the self employed they just don't have today...not much will change (if anything) for most Americans that are currently on employer covered plans.

Agreed that you need to wack that 7 point...but he will make a dandy mount or euro mount.

Nice one. Real nice for your area isn't it? Good luck puttin him on the ground this fall.

All of you keep saying...give some money to the average guy. Well the cash for clunkers did that while also helping the US auto industry the really needed the boost. As for healthcare it is only becouse of the government that the system that we currently have today. Employers and employees do not have to pay taxes on HC provided. The government not collecting taxes on this has created a system that incents employers to offer HC benifits as a perk to work for them. In return for not being taxed employers have to agree to a few rules...namely not exluding people for preexisiting conditions and not excluding high pay employees. Now the reforms that will likely be proposed will build of the success and spirit of the current employer based system and try to get affordable HC available even to those that must go out and buy it on their own (ie. self employed, unemployed under 65, ect). I think what you fail to understand it that there is no discussing here to throw out the current system and to put in a "one payer system". I am certainly not for a one payer system but that is not what democrats are proposing at all. And sure...I agree that 74% of Americans don't want the system changed...that is probalby b/c of the 300 million or so Americans only 50 mm are uninsured (about 15%). What that means is that those 15% probably want something changed so that they can get affordable coverage for thier families (they make to much to qualify for medicaid and arne't old enough for medicare) and then there are about 10% of Americans who are smart enough the realize that there is a better way. The remaining 74% are happy that they have coverage and don't want to see a change mostly b/c of all the misinformation that is being spread by the right. However, if they realized that the current system is unsustainable and that reforms are nesecarry to pull cost out of they system then perhaps they would change their mind. Good luck. Man there is some bad spelling in there...however...you get the point. Goodnight.

30,000 x 100,000,000 is 3 trillion not billion. Easy math for this intelligent redneck.
-
Those are some nice bucks and great pictures.

How are we to come to a solution to our healthcare issues with a bunch of middle aged loudmouthed women shouting and acting like 3 year olds. These people have no manners and not much in the way of intelligence either. The administration has already come up with one big home run...the cash for clunkers program is very popular and is helping the U.S. economy. While I am generally not a fan of this type of subsidy I must say it is a success considering the $1 b spent compared to $700 + billion given to banks. The first step in fixing our HC problem is realizing there is a problem. Why don't those on the right want to part of the solution rather than part of the problem? Please do explain.
-
Could you explain your math on the 30k comment?
-
Those are two really nice bucks. Where you at? I do some hunting up around Jasper County in the Eastern part of the state.

Are you really going the the ER for a tickbite? I assume then you must have some type of pretty good health insurance that pays for that....may I suggest that you buy a pair of tweezers and find the phone number for you family practitioner. It is called an emergency room for a reason!! This is one of the reasons that HC costs are out of control in this country...everyone want it right now...with no regards to the price or the needs. There has to be a funnel in order put some types on protocals on quality of care and match up care with severity on the condition. Why is it that it costs thousands of $ers more to treat people in Metro areas then it does in rural areas (with no difference in outomes)? Could it possibly be that where there are more doctors...there will be more medicine? Do you guys think there is a problem with HC in America? What is the solution? I don't know so I would like to hear some suggestions.

This is absolutly mindless. This VonBrun character is a convicted felon and embarassment to our society. Luckily a few people had guns to shoot his bigot butt. The should have put a bullet behind his ear. Hopefully they can round up his organization (whatever one he belongs to) and bring them all the jail on RICO charges. The only reason this guy did what he did is b/c is he a crazy, hate mongering fool who would rather blame others for his shortcommings than understand that he is a worthless human being. By the way...why are you so worried about our country? Isn't there anything exciting going on in Canada?
