My oldest will be attending college in Pennsicola starting in the fall. I'll be driving down to pick her up at some point in the spring - usually first week of May. I'm fishing for info on possibly trying to work in an Osceola hunt. I realize that Osceolas would be a few hours drive south of Pennsicola. Any info to get me pointed in the right direction would be helpful. Thanks...

I think I see your point swamp... but did Christ live blamelessly in the eyes of all of man? He was truly blameless but man sought fault in He who was faultless. My point being, I will strive to live my life in such a manner as to honor God and if that creates strife for me then so be it. Easy to say, sometimes/oftimes hard to do. I agree, I want and desire to be recognized by those around me as someone who is honest, forthright, understanding, etc. Should I die on the way to work in a few minutes I have the eternal security of knowing I'll no longer live under the stinging and blurred vision of man but will stand in the purifing presense of God by the grace and mercy given through Christ. Yes, I hope those around me would recognize me for who I am and try to be but I must live to please God, not those around me and that will sometimes cause difficulties in this world.

Praying for you... I'd think if you'd separated it you would have known it immediately. Either way take it easy on it until you get to the doc. No sense in making it worse.

Eric... I'm a rookie runner but just finished reading an article in "Runner's World" about training for a marathon. I'd like to run one in 2008 also but I'm coming off a quad "injury" - overdoing it basically and its set me back. Here's the link to the article - hope it helps: http://www.runnersworld.com/article/0,7120,s6-238-244-255-11932-0,00.html

Griz - that's a very personal decision that most all of us face at sometime in our lives. For me it boils down to how I'd feel after the funeral if I hadn't gone. If I'd be kicking myself for not going then I'd go. If you'll be fine with the memories you have - you'll be fine in not going. Its a tough one...

Sorry to hear they're in last place. If they ever play the West Michigan White Caps - that's "our" team. I'll be sure to tell my daughter to take in a Pelicans game when she starts college in the fall - LOL.

Now it'll seem like your finger is 3 times bigger than the rest of them. Take care not to whack it on everything!

Randy Anderson videos... I'll have to check them out. Chris... what are you planning on hunting with? I have a few guns in my collection to choose from but haven't settled. .22 LR, .30-30 (seem like overkill), 12g, 20g, .410, etc... Our season doesn't open back up until July 15th here in MI.

This might be the stupid question of the month but I hunt with a Winchester 1300 12g with a 26" barrell. When I bought it it came with one choke - full. I'm just wondering what others change into when they hunt squirrels. Thanks...

Thanks for the info... I've been kicking around trying yote hunting. Not sure what direction I want to take in it - keep the pelts or not. I'll check them out, tho.

Now Up For Action - All Procedes To Exturkinator's Family I realize this may seem strange but I am no longer selling this item for my benefit. I contacted Buckee and he agreed this would be an ok to change the listing as an auction to benefit Exturkinator's family. I would like to help this way if I can. Any starting bid accepted. Thanks... Vance

Ever since last fall and taking my two youngest out hunting with me a few times squirrel hunting it has resparked my interest. Then my brother made the "mistake" of asking if I wanted to try turkey hunting this season. Oh man am I hooked. Now I'm starting to get the itch for squirrel, deer, coyotes, just about anything legal to shoot! LOL

Go figure... my brother lists an Oneida bow on eBay for a guy he knows and sells it. The guy he lists it for is grateful enough to give my brother a ScentLok overalls outfit. I'd like to think it would be to short for him as I got the short end of the genetics - LOL!

Sounds like its time to get out the big buck videos and rest awhile!

Wish I'd seen one that big on the hot end of my shotgun about a month ago - LOL! Nice pic...

Oh that's an easy one! My first year turkey hunting - it would be the day I bagged my jake. I got into the blind at 5:30a - it was a chilly 35 degrees after having a very unusal 80 degree windy day openning day. I was calling softly every now and then wondering if I was doing anything right. I heard something with heavy wing beats fly in over top of the blind at about 7:30a but couldn't see it. I'd purr, scratch, cluck, yelp, purr some more but hadn't heard a gobble in awhile. I had scouted 2 days prior to season and hadn't heard any hen noise so I was absolutely LOST to where I was calling to much or not enough. Then, at about 8:20 a hen started cutting about 150 yards away. "COOOL!!", I thought so I popped in a diaphram call and matched her pace and urgency. The woods EXPLODED with gobbles - at least 4 birds. The hen shut up but I'd cut up and down, yelp, then go silent and the birds were coming! I'd let them gobble then I'd yelp back with more urgency and they'd go nuts gobbling. It was cool beyond belief! 30 min later three jakes came into view on my left marching shoulder to shoulder right at my decoy set up 25 yards straight out from my blind. A forth bird was less than 30 yards behind me but I didn't have that window open and the velcro would scare them all away for sure. I beaded one of the jakes but they were literally shoving eachother shoulder to shoulder to impress my decoy. They marched in then past my faux hen - where they going to keep going?! Nope, the center jake stopped an piroetted about 2 yards and came back in line with the decoy. I was shaking like a new puppy in a cool breeze. He spotted the blind (I assume) and stuck his head straight up and that was all I needed. He flopped a few times while is buddies bounded away. My brother was hunting about 150 yards behind me so I waited 10 min hoping the 4th bird I had called in would head his way - no luck. I was SO excited and chilled I couldn't stop shaking - it was hilarious. So, I'd live that moment over and over again. Oh! And a porcupine at the outhouse! My only "business" there was for the camera...

A hardy congrats to ya! Nicely done on the slide show also.

Casey - how'd he come out?

That is a quandry and I support your decision. Just being in a bar gives a mixed message clouding our testimony. Its a personal decision but pretty clear for me personally.
