This was a much needed break from school and my roommate. I have been lookin forward to this weekend for sometime because several of us head over to a local archery shoot to our bows to get ready for the up coming season in 1 week and 4 days. Parkergirl, bowtech_archer07, a couple of friends, and myself got together Friday afternoon to shoot our bows a little to make sure that they were sighted in. Turns out that we actually had to resight in two bows so it was a good thing that we did this. After eating burgers, brots, chips and salsa we played some holdem to pass the time. Then next morning we headed to the shoot around 8:30 and arrived at 9:00 at the shoot. Ten dollars and thirty targets later I again come on top in a contest and bet with bowtech_archer07 for the second straight shoot in a row:p:p:D:D. My winnings: a free first shoot the next time we go:D, braggen rights for the next shoot, and spending time with friends without watching tv or playing any video games of any kinda.

Looks like a 130 class deer to me.

I usually try to hang my stands when it's going to rain so that my scent is eliminated and the big boy won't ever know I was there. I've also hunted in stands in the very day that I have hung them and killed something out of them later that day. My first buck was killed this way.

I'll be the first to say that it was a one time fluke. I shot once and was waiting for my brother to shot when I grew tired of waiting and shot another arrow. I do group them though at a soda can on most days though.

Shot my first robin hood the other day. I don't have my camera with me now but I will load the picture of it tomorrow. Bad thing is that I just bought two new arrows because that is all they had and now one of them is already gone. Cool for the first time but I won't do it again hopefully;)

Need some help with food plots. I was going to put in about a two acre food plot on my property maybe plant an acre of one thing and the other in something else but didn't know what to put in. I know it's too late for anything this year but I will prolly get the ground ready for next year. I am lookin for something that will attract deer about Nov. There is a lot of alfalfa around so I would like something that deer would eat after that goes sour. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
