  3. Hey guys was wondering if the crappie were bitting yet. I have spring break and a friend of mine just got a new boat. We were going to try it over break but I wanted to see if the crappie were starting to bit yet.
  4. Hey team just checking in. Any name is fine with me. Now don't go jinxing us just yet kyle. Actually I can't believe I have to be on the same team with you again. I have drawn a second and fifth season tag. Don't know the dates off the top of my head. This year I decided to just hunt with my bow so it should be an interesting year to say the least:D Jared
  5. Great lookin mount and deer;)
  6. Would I need an arrow stopper if I'm shot a Parker spitfire pulling 62 lbs shooting slick tricks. I also have rage broad heads but I really don't want to shot them at a turkey because I think that they would tare him up way to much. I will practice out of my blind just to make sure I can still do it. Thanks for the advice;) cc
  7. Thanks guys for some much needed info. Hopefully I'll have a pic of a big ol' limbhanger taken with my bow
  8. This spring I'm going to try to use my bow to go after the one that got away last year. I have never hunted them in the spring with a bow, but I have in the fall. Any tips would be welcomed;) cc

  11. I forgot to mention that she was in heat when I shot her. When she first came in, she walked right under my stand and urinated on here tarsal glads. As soon as she walked to the bean field a little 7 pt came out with his nose down and chased the fawns around. What do you guys and gals think of this??

    Big Mama!!

Well I can say that I have finally ended one of the hardest year of hunting with a hard earned doe. I can honestly say I have never say that I have hunted this hard and not had something to show for. Shot her at 36 yrs with a Parker spitfire using the Rage-2 broadhead.
  15. I ended up searching over 150ydrs with no blood just body searching, but found nothing. Don't know what happened to her, guess I will have to try again
  16. Bad luck that is. My season has not been one to brag about. I could literally count the number of deer I have seen on my hands and toes up to Il shotgun season. During both seasons I saw a total of 8 deer. I wasn't having any luck at home so I decided to make my way 2.5 hrs south to effingham county where I have always seen atleast 10 deer each sitting. I hunted all this pass weekend and all I saw was 5 deer sat morning. I went home empty hearted and disapointed at my dismal weekend. Parkergirl convinced me to try to hunt behind my house. I haven't hunted there in a while so I thought that I would give it a try. I actually couldn't believe it when I saw several does come out of the timber and started to walk my way. I had only one window and the closest distance was 40 yrds. I was going to wait for them to get a little closer but they started to feed away for me so I was forced to take a 45 yrd shot sending my 2-blade rage broad heads sailing through the air. I shot her right in the shoulder slightly quartering away going though both shoulders. Tracked the deer last night for 40 yrds not finding much blood and decided to wait till the morning. Went back out this morning and could not find any blood past where I stopped:mad: I really don't know why the rage didn't do more damage. I found part of my arrow with good blood on it leaving 4 inches of the arrow in the deer. I didn't search all of my timber because a big ten was seen last night walking into my timber and I didn't want to push him out. Heading back out tonight to see if I can hopefully change my luck around. Thanks for listening to my ranting and wish me luck. Jared
  17. Well this weekend turned out to be a bust like the rest of my season. Hunted all weekend and the only deer that I saw were this morning 120 ydrs away. Season is still open for another two weeks, but I'm so burnt out with not seeing any deer I don't know if I will do much more hunting. I will try to go out some more but no promises. Hope all had a good new yr. Jared
  18. Heading out to my grandpa's farm 2.5 hrs away this weekend to conclude my hunting season for the year. Hopefully I'll be able to add some points to our team.
