  1. First off, I'm not sure that anyone here has blatantly called him a "bad person". Comments about his history of making less-than-ideal choices on how to behave have been made here based upon factual data over his years in the public eye. So then, based upon what you wrote above, it would also go that no one has "the right" to say positive things about him unless he/she personally knows him? That's more of a rhetorical question, by the way. . . .
  2. Nothing like the miracle of a baby. The creation of life is one thing that I simply marvel at, for sure. Congrats to all and enjoy!!
  3. That's for sure. Congrats on a great deer and being able to enjoy it with your little buddy!
  4. Welcome to the forums, hstreible! What an awesome buck and an equally great story on how you got it! Talk about determination. . . tossing those crutches and crawling through a ditch! You go, girl! Again, welcome! Laura
  5. You do know, Ruth, that gifts are allowed to be something that you WANT versus something that you NEED. But, having been through nursing school, I understand. As for me, I've asked for an autographed Tony Dungy book and a bag of my favorite coffee. So far, anyway!
  6. You sound EXACTLY like my husband! Did the two of you by chance go to the same Grinch school?
  7. Whatever perceived motives the guy with the camcorder may or may not have had, and whatever truth there is to the incident, there was Bobby Knight and, sure enough, there was trouble. Interesting how that works.

    Black Thursday

Maybe the "daddy" of those nice bucks is still out there lurking behind your house, waiting just for you. . . .
  10. That's some really great news - continued prayers for her and the family.
  11. That is an awesome bull! If my husband has one hunting goal before all is said in done in his life, it's to successfully bowhunt one like that. Good luck to you and your girlfriend in hunting "her" bull!

  13. Those are cool pictures . . . and I like the title you picked for this thread - it's very fitting!
  14. Nice pictures so far! I especially like your second one, Andrea. We cut a tree every year from a local farm, but this year we decided to get a live tree with the root ball in burlap. We will move it into the house most likely the weekend of the 15th and then transition it back outside and plant it! It's a serbian pine and is quite pretty. The tree farm guy said that it takes "a father and a teenage son" to move it. I told him that since our kids are 4 and 6, I'll have to pass for the teenage son part of that duo. I'd better start eating my Wheaties.
  15. Check out this detailed info (with pictures) from the Michigan United Conservation Clubs TV program, Michigan Out of Doors. We watch this program every week on our PBS station and actually saw this episode on doing skull mounts. Good luck! http://www.mucc.org/mood/skullmount.php
  16. Hope your day has been a special one! Happy Birthday, Joe!

  18. I'm glad to read that you're going with a Parker bow and that she is so excited about it. Like you said, you've got a hunting partner in the making! I've had my Parker Challenger for 8 years and love it. My draw is 23 inches and I pull 50 pounds. My husband teases that I shoot darts rather than arrows (because they're so short due to my draw length), but it gets the job done! Congrats on making a great choice, and I hope your daughter enjoys many years of shooting with her new bow! Laura

  20. We had a bit of snow Thanksgiving morning here, as well. . . enough for the kids to sled some and build a couple of tiny snowmen. It's still hanging around, but that should change over the next couple of days. This morning (Friday) it was a brisk 12 degrees in our neck of the woods. The first real cold and crunchy walk out to the tree stand!
  21. If this was your only day to hunt, you sure picked a good one! Sounds as though you had a great hunt and saw lots of action. Congrats on a really nice buck!
  22. Ruth, if I'm not mistaken, several of these "missing" deer can be found in the Ladies 2007/2008 Hunting Success thread, specifically post #8. Just how full is your freezer?!
