  1. It's in your neck of the woods - what's stopping you?! Sure looks like a great event! I hope you get to go.
  2. Ball U. As in Ball State University! That's the one I'm looking for. They are nice-looking, and as long as Andrea's happy, we're all happy.
  3. Buck with my Parker bow pulling 50 pounds.
  4. Oh, my son will go nuts when I show him your photos! He constantly plays with his diecast metal John Deere tractors with assorted attachments. It's serious business! In fact, we have a "field" of candy corn pumpkins surrounded by tractors and such on our family room carpet right now. Cool stuff there, Scott!

    Were you a big baby?

Wow, they grow 'em big here on the forums! I started out 7 lbs. 10 oz., shot up in life to a whopping 5'2" , and delivered our two kids, a 7 lbs. 1 oz. son and a 7 lbs. 11 oz. daughter. They're now 6 and 4 years old, and our son is in the 50th percentile for both height and weight (on the pediatrician's growth chart) and our little girl is 50th for height and 25th for weight. My husband's 5'10". Neither one of us are the giants of the forums!
  6. That's great! I'll never forget the expression on my husband's face when I appeared out of the woods with my first turkey! Pride and excitement all at once. Sounds like you're having the same mix of wonderful emotions about your wife's first deer. Congrats!!!

    Were you a big baby?

This may very well be reliable proof that Sasquatch truly exists. Up in those Canadian woods, starting out life at the size of most 3-year-old humans. . . .
  8. Daydream. I also do what many others have written about doing - visualizing a deer in a certain area and mentally lining up a shot. When the kids were babies and I was often sleep deprived, I'd doze off. The quiet peace of nature and the warm sun proved too much. . . . thankfully I always stayed in the stand!
  9. HAHAHAHAHAHAHHahahahahaaaaaa. . . . . . . math is stupid.
  10. Man, we TRIED to watch that game last night and it was just plain too ugly to even look at! How does an offense go from #1 one season to this the next?!
  11. Tweek it a bit to "Help from Above" and I like it better.
  12. You know, more than anything it simply seems like an incredibly kind thing to do for a kid who enjoys hunting! Good for you for helping him out!
  13. That's great! Congrats on passing and on the pay raise.
  14. Suddenly I feel the need to make something really, really clear. . . . By advocating MichiganHunter to go out and "have a blast" on his birthday, I did not say nor did I have any intention of saying "go out and get blasted"! My "2 cents" on it all would be the same, regardless of which number birthday it may be (21 or 41). Celebrate the occasion and enjoy time with those dear to you in life. I, too, take care of the body with which God has so richly blessed me, and I highly encourage others to do the same. It is possible, in my opinion and that of others, as well, to responsibly enjoy an alcoholic drink or two on occasions in life and all the while maintain respect and gratitude to our Creator. There is no doubt a line between use and misuse of virtually anything in life, and it is for each of us to know where that line is in our own personal lives. I know that we come from all walks of life and have many different stories about how we became who we are today and why. Just please know that I value others, appreciate the stories behind the faces and respect our differences. That's all. MichiganHunter, whatever you decide, enjoy yourself and have no regrets!
  15. What fun! That last pic with the "girlfriend" had me laughing. . . good photo to bring up at graduation, prom, cough cough, wedding. . . .
  16. Here's my 2 cents: You only turn 21 once in life (although some middle-age-crisis types try to do it more than once ). I'd say go out on your birthday and have fun - be safe about it all, of course - but have a blast with good friends and give up the opener. You have all season to hunt but only one day to call your birthday! Good luck with your decision!
  17. That's an idea. I was thinking about it a little bit, too, and wondered about somehow including the number 4 (as we're team 4), only it would read as "for". Like, Team 4 the Hunt (Team for the Hunt) or One 4 the Team (One for the Team). Just a thought - whatever we all decide upon will be fine with me! Interesting - I took a peek at our individual profiles and noticed that a number of members have New Year's Eve birthdays! We could be Team Ball Drop! Laura
  18. Congratulations! You have every reason to be very proud of your successful bow hunt!

  20. New forum room You know, between this thread and the one on his new vacuum, I'm thinking that an entirely new forum room is in order. Something like "The husband's guide to housekeeping by Al" . . .

    It's time

Praying for nothing but the best for you! As we like to tell patients going under anesthesia for surgery, know that the OR team will take good care of you and pick out a nice dream!!! How about a beautiful buck walking right into a shooting lane. . . .
  22. Glad to hear that you're so pleased with your new purchase, Al! Our "cleaning lady" uses a Kirby and loves it. Lately she's been more concerned with shooting her bow than with keeping the house clean. Slacker, that one is. . . .
  23. Congrats to you on a nice buck! I love your proud and happy smile! Way to go.
  24. I hope I'm not too late getting these picks in - it's Sunday morning 8:30 local time, so no games have started yet! Thanks. Colts Browns Bears Broncos Packers 49ers Bengals Ravens Lions Monday Sept. 24th Saints over
