  1. If anything, some partially-used tissue (with something in it from the nose of one of the kids) or a precious tiny pebble that our daughter found out in nature and will surely treasure forever.
  2. Congrats, smallmunster, on your first with a bow! Yet more points for team GottaGetAName! Have a great Thanksgiving!

    My yearly plague

Well, just what exactly did you do to get it all over yourself like that?! Sounds as though you wallowed in it. What a bummer, Andrea. . . good luck clearing it up, and hopefully all of those men in your house will let you soak in a Calamine tub while they cook up a mean Thanksgiving meal. Ya, right.

    Blessed

Congratulations to your whole family on the birth of Evelyn Marie! Enjoy every minute, Grandpa!
  5. Congratulations on the birth of your son and on his homecoming! Have a great Thanksgiving with your family, complete with one handsome little blessing, baby Darren.

    iPods

I don't have one but they must be pretty darn special. . . . I heard on a news radio program that 1 out of 5 students surveyed at NYU would give up their voting rights for an i-pod. Now if that's not enough to make you want to stand up and shout some sense into a few folks, then I don't know what is!
  7. Spoken like a true hunter, oo_buck. . . and don't forget the funnels at the check-outs. Although, it sounds as though Nick would be more in the position of "buck" versus hunter. In which case, give 'em your best grunt call and make sure you smell nice and musty. As for me, on Friday I'll either be in the woods or at home with my own personal "buck" and our "fawns"!
  8. Wow, she must really be something for you to do that!!! Could it be love?
  9. Sounds like a great time! One August out of Pentwater, Michigan, my husband and I found some nice slick water out on the lake and just hauled in the steelhead right and left. It was an absolute blast! The way they fight when caught sure makes for an exciting day on the water. Glad that you were able to get out there and enjoy some fun and successful fishing with a buddy.
  10. I'm amazed that I even had 4 right. . . I was convinced that I won the honor for lowest score last week!
  11. What a great buck!!! Somebody tell me again why I moved away from Indiana?! Hey, I suppose I could always go "Back Home Again" to Indiana for a hunt one season!
  12. Happy Anniversary to Mr. and Mrs. Wtnhunt! Here's to many more.
  13. Wow, RackBlaster, he's an absolute beauty! And as for the cow, I think it makes for a cool picture! Congrats on a really nice buck!!! Continued luck and hunting enjoyment to all team members!

    Hello everyone

Hello, Jack, and welcome! You probably already know this, but your mom's a pretty cool lady. Laura
  15. Congrats and best of luck in the game!!! I grew up in Indiana and high school football games were so much fun. Of course, I was always a fan, so I imagine being on the field as a player is really exciting! Be sure to post an update! Laura

  17. Ruth, all I can say is you rule! Or whatever the slang is these days for going out there and getting it done! I knew that you were doing well this fall, but lining them all up like that sure puts it in perspective. Way to go! Oh, and then there's that side thing you have going on right now, too . . . . a little something called nursing school. Congrats on doing so well in school and on making the time to get out there and enjoy the great outdoors! Laura ps - Thanks for the kind comment on our kids. . . the two of them and my husband really are my biggest fan club and God's greatest gifts to me.
  18. Thanks, Andrea, for the compliment. He's certainly not the biggest buck on the block. . . but the thrill of the hunt was just as big when he came grunting his way through the woods! Good to read that you at least saw deer this morning. That's not always a given, as we all know! Good luck your next time out. Here's another photo of me and the buck, complete with my own personal little fan club! Good luck to you, too, Outdoorgirl, on getting that nice 10-pointer!
  19. Scored! Hi, team. Last night I took a 5-point buck with our muzzleloader. I just posted pics and the other info on the official thread so we'll get our credit. By the scoring standards for this contest, that fifth point is a squeaker. . . we'll see how it's judged. So, at least another 9 points for us. . . hopefully 10! Good luck to all. I'm hoping that elusive 10-point is still out there and maybe, just maybe, I'll upgrade before this whole thing is said and done! Laura
  20. You sound like a guy who has his priorities straight - family first, for sure. Prayers for your entire family, especially your mom. My mom is ten years cancer-free since tackling breast cancer, and I know that the thought of recurrence never goes away. I am sad to read your news and sincerely hope and pray for the best. Laura
  21. I'd be happy to take a few off of your hands and "store" them on our walls . . . you know, just to help out until you find more wall space.
  22. Finally! I've been putting in some serious time with my bow, and through all of it, I only saw one truly gorgeous 10-point (who stayed in the thick and never gave me a bow shot). Tonight, 30 minutes into sitting, this 5-point came along grunting away at our backyard doe (who still has her twin button bucks at her side). I decided that I've sat long enough and it was time to kill something! He didn't give me a broadside view, so I shot him straight-away with the muzzleloader - dropped dead where he stood! How are the rest of you doing?
