I think the answer lies in the background of the first picture...They cut down a big ol tree, then wait for someone to come and cut it into managable pieces with a chainsaw.:D Evolution my friends...we are building a smarter beaver:p:D

I try not to worry about the things I really can't control.....yeah, I can wash my hands more, avoid sneezy folks, live in a bubble etc.... But I, personally, do not think its gonna make a whole lot of difference. So, yeah I hope it goes away, but I'm not inflating my bubble just yet...

That dog is awesome!!! I agree it looks like a training video, but the dog doesnt know that....he was going full bore!! I used to go watch the Police And Firemen Games at the high school I used to live by, that is pretty cool to watch the dogs go and tackle the 'criminal', even when they are shooting(blanks).

Thats pretty cool lookin'! Ive never seen that before either. Only color variation Ive ever seen was a turkey that had a lot of white markings all over it. Nice bird, congrats!!

His spurs were only 3/4" long and they were pretty rounded off. Im not sure if he was that old, or if he was just big for his age.

My first car was my grandpas '77 Ford Grenada, burnt orange/rust color. I think the army used them in place of tanks for a while:rolleyes: I still remember watching the gas gauge drop while on the freeway LOL.

Welcome aboard!! Im from Wisconsin, west and a tad north of Green Bay. Lots of good folks around here.

Went to a spot where a friend of mine got a bird two weeks ago this afternoon at about 5pm. I was dead tired after being out most of the day. I decided not to make the long walk back to where I was thinking of going and decided to go to an area that was about half as far. Good thing I did!! I just about got to where I was going to set up, when I snapped a branch under my feet... and then **goobbbllle**, about 100 yds away. I dove for the nearest tree and made a few soft calls. He gobbled his way in and strutted a bit and was stopped behind this old rotten stump. ( like I would expect any different ). I knew he wasnt gonna get much closer, he was about 30yds, so I was hoping he would pop out on one side or the other. After not finding the hen he was looking for he took a few steps left and turned to leave...and I let him have a load of #5's. This all took about 3 min. My camera battery is charging now and no one is home yet to take my pic so I will have to post it later... I knew he seemed heavy but I was shocked to see my scale say 27lbs!! Only downfall is his beard is all rotted off at the stump, but them dont taste real good anyways:D:D Ok heres a pic http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee204/CatScratchFever_WI/014.jpg

YES!! That stuff is awesome...I still get ticks that crawl onto me but they sure dont stay long. Follow the directions pretty strictly though, that stuff aint exactly good for you to get on your skin.

Im gonna be keeping an eye on this thread too, im in the market for a new bow too and also am a Hoyt fan, and interested in others opinions I actually shot a few arrows out of an alpahmax at a sporting goods store a few weeks back. That thing is pretty sweet!! The draw length was too long, and it was a different style of release than i am use to and I put 4 arrows in the area of a silver dollar. Granted I was only shooting at maybe 15yds, but it seems to be real forgiving. And boy is it quiet. I agree with VermontHunter and go shoot a bunch of em, thats what im gonna start doing.

Thats pretty cool! Hey, hes only about 50miles from me, maybe he will jump the fence and walk my way this fall:D:p I wonder if they let folks just go look at him?? I bet he is more impressive in person!

Thats funny stuff!!

I got up early today and sat behind the barn that overlooks the fields on the property I hunt on. There were two toms out there and one of them was gobbling pretty good. Within a few minutes a hen came out and started feeding in the same general area as the toms. I noticed that the hen had a beard, and a fairly good one for a hen I may add. Well she fed around a bit while the two toms kinda just stood in one spot and were half strutted out for a bit and then just stood there and watched. They did that on and off for a bit, almost looking confused as to what to do. I couldnt help but imagine the cartoon dialogue bubble above the toms head " dude..does that chick have a beard?" Maybe Im just weird but, at 5:30 this morning it was funny:D:p

I completely agree that the plates pretty much take the "skill" of a driver out of the equation. But the only way the plates are gonna go away is if they do take the banking out of the track like you said. I aint tryin to stir the pot here...I guess I would just rather watch a plate race than no race at a track.
-
Of course not. I just dont see why anybody wouldnt want to see races on a track like 'Dega.
-
Although its hard sometimes, you gotta look out for good 'ol #1. You have to do whats best for you and your family (?) Just tell them the reason why you feel you need to move on so as to not burn bridges as hungry hunter stated. Good luck.
-
Man that looks tasty!! I smoked some chickens and some lake michigan browns a few weeks back, now you got me wanting to fire that smoker back up!!:D
-
I love plate racing. Daytona and 'Dega are two of my favorites to watch. Anything can happen and anybody can win. The races where its obvious that somebody has a dominant car are boring to me. Sometimes it seems the only way someone can get ahead of said car is by a pit error or a wreck. I agree that everything possible should be done to ensure everyones safety, but no oval racing on big tracks?? Those are the best races in my opinion. Theres a better chance of a fan getting killed in a wreck on the way to a race then getting killed in the stands. And as far as the driver goes, no one is forcing them into the car to race it. Its a chance you take.
-
I hope everyone in the stands is ok!! But wow what a race!! I guess the COT isnt quite perfect yet though, the idea behind the new car is that they wouldnt fly into the stands. But, I guess you cant prepare for every situation. I thought JR. had this one in the bag until I saw Carl and Brad coming!!! Glad to see Brad pull it out over Edwards, and good to see Jr. in 2nd!

Maybe we are all just jealous that we dont have that job??:D:D:p I know I might be....

Ya I dont put all my faith into the weather folks. Sometimes it seems they should get their nose out of the computer and go look outside.:D
-
I dont have my hopes up for the Packers drafting anybody that will help them this year.. Ted T. already said a while back that ' we dont draft based on need'. Sounds like a 5-11 team eh?? We definatley need linemen on both sides of the ball tho.

Oh boy, better get the kleenex out as well as the broom. I can hear the tears falling in Columbus already about that too many men on the ice call. Granted they were letting the guys play late in the game, but they normally dont let too many men calls get away. I didnt see the Jackets winning the next three in a row anyways.:D Osgood better pull it together tho, what a horrible performance tonite.
