Being in the right spot is huge!! Also, dont blow him out of the tree hammering on a box call at first light. Keep your calls on the mellow, relaxed side at first. At least until he starts to get fired up/flys down.

Do you guys who think its unsafe to have an arrow knocked, hunt from a treestand??? If yes, are you attached to a fall arrest system while you are climbing the tree? You could slip and fall if not.... Do you have rattling horns with you?...you could puncture yourself with those if you fall. Do you have binos/range finder around your neck while on stand? If you fall, you could hang yourself... Theres lots of things that 'could' happen...I just dont see it being a big risk having a knocked arrow while still hunting.

I would like to stay in the same area of WI I am in, but I would love to have a home looking over the Wolf or Red river here in the Shawano area. And of course a nice big garage and a ton of land to roam on!

Your bow probably just shoots flat enough out to 20 yds that the small drop in speed is only going to affect your longer yardages.

I rarely have an arrow knocked going to or from the stand....except going into an afternoon november hunt. And if I still hunt a bit, I will have one knocked unless the foliage does not permit it. I dont see how you could poke yourself....just like a gun, dont point it at yourself and you are fine.

I like the challenge of finding them. And it gets me out of the house and in the woods. I am not good at finding them at all LOL, I pretty much have to literally trip on them to find them. I think the number of deer Ive taken is more than the number of sheds Ive ever found haha!! But, I still go out and try my best to find some!

I havent cried after taking a deer, but like the rest of you, I have the lump in the throat moment as I walk up to it. I really prefer to track my deer myself, unless I really need help finding it of course. I just like to have some time to myself... My bow buck this year, I just sat in the woods by him, said Thanks 'Ol Boy, and took in the moment for a while. I was pleasantly surprised this year when my girlfriend shot her first deer of her life( she was not a hunter before she met me), we found it, and she asked 'what do you do now..?'. I said 'we field dress it, and take her to the truck''.........She looked at me and said 'no, what do I do..? Im not sure how to act right now.." I told her to just kneel down, tell the deer 'Thank You', and never forget this day.

Yep, I would say go shoot them both. I have a AM32 and love it!! I havent shot the Maxxis so I cant really give my 2cents about it yet.
