  1. either way I would consider that a buck that needs to be taken out of the herd. my 2 cents :gun1:
  2. I agree you did the right thing, but when you hand the deer over to the warden, where does it go? Is it put to good use and fills an empty stomach or is it a waste? I have mixed feelings for that reason and that reason alone. Maybe I am uneducated about this, but I do know that it would have been used and eaten if I cleaned it and consumed it instead of giving it to the warden. I know then, that the deer would not have been harvested for nothing. Accident or not.
  3. those trees do have a habit of saving some wildlife:oops:
  4. no sir... you best believe I would have let an arrow fly in that situation as well
  5. probably crossed the border trailing a hot doe

  12. after a rain, that buck will be to his scrapes first thing to freshen them up... get your butt out there when you know the rain will stop soon... i would get in there just before the rain stops...
  13. This season has been rough... I haven't been able to get out nearly as much as I would like to this season because of school and going to my brothers football games on Friday nights (its his senior year and he is a captain)... anyways... i have been leaving a new section of land that hasnt been hunted in over a year now alone alone for the rut... well i went to put a stand in yesterday and my back goes out on me... needless to say i didnt go hunting today and i am in a lot of pain!... i cant catch a break this season :surrender::stretcher::angry::bang:
  14. i dont know anything about this to be honest... i know bear has some stuff out in wal mart etc... but honestly... don't buy a bow because of what your friend thinks or the hype... like you said... you like the feel of the diamond and the pse... go with what feels good to YOU, not your friend... if those bows feel good to you then choose one of those... you will be more comfortable and shoot better because of it
  15. That isn't the only thing!... the first deer I take this year is going to my mom's friend who has fallen into rough times and could use the venison more than me right now... so i do appreciate everybodys good luck wishes and the best of luck to you all as well!
  16. happened to me as well... i didnt get busted... but the wind has been awfully swirly here..
  17. i dress them at the edge of the field where i hunt, then throw the goodies back into the tree line... especially if i hit it a tad far back and clipped the stomach or something... i dont want that to taint the meat... just what i was brought up to do... haven't really known any other way
