  1. Hello everyone. I was added to your team recently. I hunt central NY and the archery season has started. Saw a bunch of deer already. None within bow range yet. I hope I can help the team out a bit.
  2. Good stuff. I enjoyed them. I love how the tag fell off. I do the same thing, and yes I have the orange license holder. Keep them coming.
  3. Tyler and I are getting ready. Don't know how much time we will have this weekend but we will get out for a bit. Be safe everyone. Wear those harnesses.
  4. You can split hairs all day long on the details. I actually enjoy talking about the technical stuff but it all boils down to shot placement. One mistake people make is they don't practice with their broadheads enough. Shoot the broadheads often. Put the field points away well before the season starts. My two cents.
  5. Nice. Good story and good shootin! Didn't take you long to put that Turbohawk to work.
  6. I used to sell appliances a while ago for Sears. In the past Whirlpool made most Kenmore products (washers, dryers, refers, freezers). That has changed. The way to know who makes a certain Kenmore product is to look at the first three numbers of the model #, which is then followed by a decimal and the remainder of the model #. It was and still is hard to beat Sears for customer service. I've seen them take an appliance back from a customer that was owned for years. My last freezer I bought at Home Depot though. A Maytag, and not frost free. So far so good with it. I bought it about 8 years ago. Kenmore refers/freezers are now made by Whirlpool, Amana, GE, Frigidaire to name a few. One thing I noticed a while back if I remember correctly was no matter what the brand, they all used the same compressors made by Embraco in Mexico.
  7. The 550 works fine so far. Seems pretty accurate and displays in half yard increments (at least at the shorter yardages). I am happy so far. As for eBay. I've bought tons of stuff and got burned once for 70 bucks. PayPal reimbursed me, but it took a couple weeks. I bought my son a 550 for Christmas last year so we now own two. One thing that sold me on the Nikon's was they are simple to use and cheaper than Leupolds.

    Phantom

I saw it in NY City a couple years ago. I was sleeping in ten minutes. After a couple elbows I woke up and somewhat enjoyed it. I guess I am not into the arts that much. I think me sleeping may have had more to do with me being in a dark room that the show itself. My wife loved it.
  9. Here is my opinion - I looked at this rangefinder a year ago. I then looked at the Nikon Riflehunter 550 and thought why would I buy a range finder that is only good out to 100 yards when I could spend a few more dollars and get one that is good out to 550 yards. The 550 works from 11 yards to 550 yards. I thought that the Archer's Choice just limited me too much as my rangefinder goes with me bow hunting and gun hunting. I paid 230 or so on eBay.
  10. I'm in the market for a new pair of rubber boots. I saw these the other day while at the Cabelas in Scarborough Maine. I tried them on. One thing I noticed is that they seem to run a size small. Overall quality seemed good and I liked them. Anyone have any feedback on the quality of Irish Setter boots? My last pair of rubber boots was a pair of Rocky Buck Stalker Lites. They were o.k. but the inside heel area wore right through to the rubber and they were very hard to get off. 11. What's that Trace Adkins song? "You're Gonna Miss this"?
  12. I logged in to post this myself. I see you beat me to it. Good job!
  13. Good job. I like how you point out how the strong hand/gun hand meets the weak hand close to the body. Many people meet the weak hand too far from the body in a sweeping motion. When I meat the weak hand i then punch the gun foward and slightly upward in a straight line as this is the quickest way to get on target. It's nice you take the time to show people the basics.
  14. It's very hard to shoot accurately while moving. We practice that. One thing we practice though is moving slower. Frustrates me and is fun at the same time.
  15. I change mine twice a year but it sits most of the time. I basically only plow my driveway with it. It is 9 years old and has 600 miles on it. Make sure you use ATV oil, as that is recommended over oil you would use in a car.
  16. That sound is how I knew it was time to come in for the night when I was a kid. My father would open the front door and whistle like a whipporwill. You could hear it a mile away and I would know it was time to go home. I miss that.
  17. Any way of building an elevated box type blind in those pines?

    Gout

Oh and for a bad attack I took a presciption anti inflamatory and can't remember the name. You can't take it for more than a few days as it is so strong it can damage the liver.

    Gout

Yeah. I take allopurinol daily to prevent it. My doc explains that the sore toe, foot whatever is not what is scary, it is the damage being done to your kidneys from the high uric acid over time. I suggest you see your doc and have a blood test done for uric acid. He explained that the uric acid crystals under a microscope look like that medievil weapon, you know the iron ball with spikes on it tied to the chain.. It's those rough crystals that cause the pain in joints and also destroy the kidneys.
  20. I would say now if she's in a lot of pain. I don't know too much about snake bites.
