best thing to do is take it to a bow shop and get them to put strings on it. Once it has them you can see what the poundage is and see if you will be able to pull it back, also you will be able to measure draw length of it. But without having the bow here and no strings on it, you cant really tell anything about the poundage and draw leangth. First step...get strings and go from there

I will agree with WTNHUNT. I would shoot with whatever your deer rifle is. I have killed them with my 270, 308, and 300wm. Yeah they are all over kill but they get the job done. With a budget of only $500 you will just be getting alright stuff. I would put that 500 bucks in the sock drawer and continue to save until you reach the 1000 mark. I have been doing a little research trying to find you some good deals and stuff.... well i think i am doing the trap thing right since i got number 5 today within 3 days, its just not as fun and shooting and then with the traps I have to go down to the water and deal with them....

depends on if you can find a scope and rifle package that you like or not. there is def cheaper things out there, but with distance shooting you get what you pay for. With a normal 3x9 scope you are not going to be able to see and hit quarter size dots at 300 yards a farther. What is your main goal in the rifle you are looking to get? strictly coyote hunting at 250 yards and less or what??? and whats your budget?

i shoot a ruger 22-250 at 500 yards with 3 inch groups, thats what I will stick with for a very long time. If i change it would be to a 220 swift, but that will not happen anytime soon.
