    New addition

Glad it's all working out. Congrats!
  2. Why would you go from lead to steel? The only reason waterfowl hunters use steel is because its a federal law. If hunters had the option to shoot either they would pick lead 99.99999 percent of the time.
  3. Fly across the country. West to East, you can stay up way later than everyone but you wake up late. East to West, you're in bed by 8 and wake up at 3. This morning I was up at 4:30 and made myself stay up to 10 last night. I am normally screwed up for the first day, then after that I am good to go.
  4. Great news and prayers are still on the way.

    Hang 'em!

That is pretty sweet, but I dont have a desire to hang a 90 dollar rifle in a 250 dollar case. I am thinking just a simple hook style that looks better than some random hooks I can get at lowes.

    Hang 'em!

link? I dont have the means to make that but the job would allow me to purchase it. Unless one of you fine members here that works with wood wants to pump one out for me.

    Hang 'em!

Fixed and find a picture, I have no idea what you're talking about. Or better yet, just send me one.

    Hang 'em!

I want to hang a gun on a wall, but want it to have a somewhat classy, professional hanging thingy-ma-bob. I want some sort of hook and not mounted deer feet. What have you done to hang things, guns or anything else where the 'hook' is visible yet looks really good/cool?
  10. Dont look at the antlers. Look at the markings on the face that dont really change year to year. Look at the white above the nose. The last two are the same, the first is a different. Different hair lines, different coloration and a solid white patch above the nose where the lower two have the exact same white patch split by a dark strip.
  11. I have a very special friend that took me quail hunting this Christmas down in South Carolina. I am trying to think of some way I can repay him for the hunt he took me on and have been searching for ideas on a gift I can send him. If you are interested in selling the second picture, have a price picked out and are willing to ship, let me know. If funds are right I might just help you downsizes. Money's tight but the amount of things this man has done for me and my family, I would be willing to scrap pennies together to get him something as awesome as that picture.
  12. Ha, that's awesome. He needs a weekend or 8 at the deer camp!
  13. I have used my truck as a bullet before.

  15. I think this is about the only time I will say that bumping this deer actually helped you. I believe that keeping him up and running around kept the wound for clotting and healing, keeping the blood flowing and eventually bleeding completely out. Congrats on the buck and a great story!
  16. Sounds like you have made your mind up, now it's time to poo or get off the pot. I say go for it, but be prepared for 100% failure. If you plan for failure and you succeed its great, if you plan for failure and you fail, you're prepared so it's not as big of a deal as it would seem to the outsiders.
  17. I just dropped off more money with the taxidermist and he said by the time I get back from vacation in two weeks he should have one of my two birds done and ready to be picked up. These are my first mounts as well and I am excited. I can not wait to get them both back!

    I Got One!

It's about dang time! I was pumped up for you when you sent the text and I was just about to post the picture if you would have taken anymore time to do so yourself. Congrats again on the deer!
  19. Im out too and headed to the duck blind before going home and packing.
  20. No way, just look at the first sentence of the thread. "well" is similar but everything else is pretty much spelled correctly and the sentence structure is pretty decent. Then there is this quote "later" is spelled correctly.
  21. Why not go talk to old fart that is only going to be working a few more years and see if you can learn what he knows. His knowledge will teach you more than schooling will. The only downside would be that you dont have that piece of paper, but if he takes you in under his wing then he could sell you the company or just have you take it over. Win win. But, I have been a part of opening a small business. It's surprisingly easy to do with small initial cost. I would buy a track hoe and dig perk holes for a small business. 300 bucks a lot and can easily do 5 a day if there is enough construction going on. If not, one a day is still a dang good pay check.
