  1. Mid day update, Mountain Lion attack witnessed by camp member. Story sometime soon when Corey can get by a computer. No one was injured, the attack was on another animal......
  2. For a while now, I have wanted to really organize all my decoys and gear. I hate leaving them in bags and moving them around the garage. I do not want to have to repaint these dekes any time soon, so I came up with this solution. Also, will make it very easy to pick and choose what decoys I want to take out each hunt. I will try and get better pictures with the real camera instead of the cell phone.
  3. Morning 2 of Rodney's hunt was a little slow. They rattled in a small 8 pt. that ended up trying to bred the decoy. :bang: They are headed to the horseshoe stand, where Tim killed his deer, this afternoon.
  4. Thats crap. It's not the summit stand that is the problem. Its the fact that he dropped 6 feet at 224 lbs and came to a sudden stop as the stand grabbed the tree. With this guy weighing 224, the average person falls at 100m per sec. I will say 75 for this equation. So, his force at impact (stopping point as stand grabbed tree) is 6968.0497005465 newton which is 1566.4798869771 pound force, way over the limit of the stand. For those that say that measurement is to fast, lets say he fell at 25m per sec. Thats still 522.15996232569 pound force. So, dude should not be putting up BS about his summit stand failing, without doing his calculations and without climbing the stand correctly. Things like this are stupid.
  5. Thanks Steve. Just sent Corey the message, we will see what he says back.
  6. Sunday Morning - Apparently the deer do not like the property Corey is on. They saw a nice shooter buck make his way off of the property they are hunting and go onto the neighbor's land that they do not have permission to hunt. The deer was seen before legal shooting time so no shot was made. Sounds like some tough hunting. Hopefully they can put it all together.
  7. It's a great day when you have to punch another hole in the belt and drop down a hole in your watch band. I cant see any change when I look in the mirror, still a fat stump, but these little signs give me a little hope. Still going strong on diet and excercise and this duck hunting is giving me plenty, since I do all walk in hunts with my gear on my back.

  9. :Wipes brow: After reading the title, I thought you had shot a kid, glad I thought wrong. Congrats on the great buck!

  11. They are having tons of doe fitler in with small bucks on their tails but the big boys are NOT showing themselves.
  12. They can not locate the land owner. They do not live in the area and none of the neighbors know their names.
  13. A small 8 just ran a third doe into them. Things are heating up fast and they just got set up.
  14. They already have 2 does in front of them 20 yards out. Hopefully there is a buck searching for his two lost girlfriends.
  15. The guys are in the stand for the evening hunt.
  16. Still have not got permission to cross the fence. The guys have searched the entire property they are allowed to hunt, but know he's on the neighbors land. No deer in hand right now, hopefully they are able to get across that fence soon.

    Need some help

One day I will set up a fake facebook just to take people's pictures to post.
  18. Now that Tim has tagged out in Kansas, it's time for Clint and Rodney to get out and hunt. Clint asked if I would do a live hunt for him and Rodney and of course I said Yes! So, the guys will be hunting all week, starting this morning. While in the stand this morning they were covered up with a ton of deer. Had a lot of little bucks chasing does, but no shooters. They are headed back to the stand in about an hour and are going to send some pics for you guys to see and to make sure he and I are connected with this whole technology sharing stuff. Wish these guys good luck, and I will get the hunt to you guys. Get 'em!
  19. They have seen about 15 deer today. Corey's father shot a big buck! But, they cant find any blood. The deer went down with the first shot, then got up stumbling and hopped a fence. They are going to find the landowner now to ask permission to search/recover the deer. The deer, says Corey, should be pushing the 30" mark.
  20. We always take any boots off our vehicles, besides CV boots because they if they do get moisture and dirt in them, they keep them in them. Also, I was asking about the splines being blue because most all shafts have this blue painting looking grease. Its a hard grease that fills the small voids in spline so they dont chatter and tick. Its an insanely small amount of space but when its gone, it will cause a very slight high speed vibe and chatter, that most of the time you cant hear but can feel.
  21. The guys did a lot of scouting today, found some good spots and seen a couple of shooter bucks. This evening at camp, they had 10 does around 300 yards out back of the camp. They might not have to travel far in the morning to hunt. I was duck hunting all afternoon today, but the updates here. :angel1: hopefully in the morning when i get out of the duck blind I will have some pictures and fun hunting stories from Corey and family.
  22. Good luck guys! Snag my number from Tim and shoot me some pics from the stand with you and Rodney. One of you fellas needs to meet crazy 8 for me. Tim, what an awesome hunt and thanks for giving me the chance to "be there" with you. Be safe in your travels home. Congrats again!
