Cant afford to fly home so it will be lonely. I plucked a fat mallard yesterday that I will smoke for myself and Maggie. Will be out duck hunting for 5 days straight, so that will keep my mind off of missing home and family. Sunday, I will be packing for a week in Vegas for a work conference.

Two options here. 1- dig a hole waste deep, put felon in hole and fill it in. At high noon, have the community come out and throw rocks at him for 15 minutes, heck maybe an hour. however long it takes. 2- bumper, chain, gravel road for miles and miles and miles, then kick it in reverse for a few hundred yards.

Well, I say that and then Clint text me. This morning's hunt concluded with 2 does and 3 small bucks. They put up a camera stand with another stand they have on a bean field that has not been hunted all year. They will try there tonight and see what happens.

Nope, not yet but Kansas is teasing Rodney. He actually thinks the state hates him! This morning they got in the stand, rattled in a smaller 8 pt and were getting pumped up with action and then all went quite and a huge storm came in and they got rained out. Hopefully it clears for the afternoon.

Someone is going to have to record these shows on a DVD or something for me. Im too poor for the outdoor channel that these shows come on and I want to see Tim hunt. Especially the live hunts that I have done! Tim, get packin' and get back to Texas!

They made it to the house tonight with no shots, but are seeing a lot more deer movement with this front that went through last night and this morning.

The guys are covered up with does and small bucks. They have had one 120 class buck behind them but could not get a good look at it. here are a few pics from the stand.

It finally looks like the rain is ending. The guys are getting ready to head out to the stand. Looks like some of the bigger bucks are finally getting on their feet, had some good pics show up. They are going back to the stand they hunted the 2nd morning. I told Clint to try and send a lot of pics, so hopefully he will and we will have something to look at this afternoon.

Sounds like you already have what you need. No need to buy the latest and greatest to hunt. Nobody gets 'cool' points in the field because of what they use to hunt with. Stick with your equipment that you already know, get some practice shots in and get out there and hunt while saving money in grad school by not buying the latest and greatest. A 31" bow is plenty small for any hunting. Your broadheads are the best out there. I have seen Rage's not open which is why I would never shoot them. I have yet to see a fixed broadhead not open. But again, you already have great equipment that you "take care of", so no need for new stuff. If your money is burning a hole in your pocket, I could use some new duck decoys.

The guys got set up this morning in the rain, hoping the rain would pass quickly. Well, that didnt happen. They got soaked and decided to back up and punt for the afternoon. Hopefully after the rain, the cold will move in and get the big boys moving.
