I do use a jerk cord and it helps a little with the ice, but when it's -6 out and 10-15 mhp winds, nothing really done by hand can be done to keep the ice away. This is the bank of the almighty Columbia river that has a very fast flow to it. We do break the ice in big chunks and push them under or over the stationary ice. We are pulling in decent numbers of ducks and geese but are going to start switching stuff up. They are becoming very decoy and call shy. Time for plan B.
Grouping the Pacific and central flyways together is not a very good representation of each. The northern rockies and dakotas are nothing like mid washington to Southern California.
The true pacific flyway is hot and heavy right now. We have had well below adverage temps, snow and wind. The northerns are showing up great and the Canadas and Snows are all over the place.
Holy Crap. I totally forgot. I suck. Out of all the hunts, that one was the most nerve racking!
An elk will be saved for you, but I hear there are bigger and better ones in Idaho. I think about a plan for us everyday and they always change, haha. I will figure something out, I will promise you that!
We all know we are thankful for friends, family and life experiences but what are you thankful for in the RealTree world.
Since I have been here, I have met a great number of people that I can call true friends. I am thankful for that.
I am thankful for the future opportunities of hunting that could possibly come from the great people here on this forum.
One last thing I am thankful for is the opportunity to bring live hunts to the forums. I did 3 hunts for Tim, 1 hunt for Corey and Co-Dogged a hunt with Buckee for Steve B. It was an amazing experience and felt like I was there with the guys hunting. Being out here in a new state, it's like a new world for me and I have yet to have the chance to get out and deer hunt. I love getting out in the woods but the rules, regs, public land and tons of hunters make it pretty difficult for someone that doesnt know the area to get out and be successful with a deer hunt. These live hunts have filled that void this season and the season is still not over yet. I would like to say thanks again for the guys that asked me to do it. I will always be up for another. Tim get back to Texas!!
Thanks RT for everything. It's been one heck of a year.
I'll see what I can do!
I get a pretty good chuckle during the day when I am drive through the desert out here and see snow covered tumbleweeds rolling across the highway.
Olivia Nalos is hot. She got my vote.
edit: so is Marissa Oaks, she got my cell phone vote.
You're hot as well, but I dont know you and I ran out of IP addresses after Olivia got a second vote from me on a lady friend's phone.
I was wondering where those hand prints on the outside of my bedroom picture came from....weirdo!!!
It's not the looks that makes the ladies melt.....
Only thing I need to figure out now is how to keep them from "falling in love" so dang quickly. What a turn off.
Right now we have right at 8". Went out and did a little duck hunting this afternoon. Awesome weather until the wind started blowing around 20 mph. We packed it up then and came in. Came home and played with the Magster some more....
I am keeping this alive.
This morning I was at 224.4. point 8 lbs heavier than I was last week. Which baffles me but oh well. I was strict on my diet and excercise and how I gain weight, I will never know. I plan to change a few things up this week, so I hope that shocks my body back into weight loss mode. My plan/goal for next week is under 220. What is going to kill me is on next Monday I fly to Vegas for the week. Hopefully I can find the gym at the hotel to use and try and not gain too much weight there. Anyhow. I am kinda bummed that I did not go down this week, but I am at that wall I guess. Head up and keep trying.
This is what I was lucky enough to wake up too. Maggie's first snow fall and she didnt know what the heck was going on. She kept trying to jump and roll around in it until she finally realized it was something she could eat. Then she just laid down and ate. The next two days are calling for lows from -3 - 0 and highs in the teens. All I have to do is get through the next two days of work and then will have 5 days off. I shall be found in a duck blind freezing somewhere.
