  1. I had a group of three (Mother doe with yearling doe and buck) come in early and the big doe would not offer a shot. THe button buck was standing at the base of my ladder and never picked me off. There was a fourth deer following them but the big doe was smelling a wick i had out of special golden estrous and she took at with the group after that. Then about 100 yards off I saw a massive body walking in the brush but did not see the antlers. This deer had a huge belly on it! Around 11 i stood up and slung my crossbow over my should and was looking around thinkin about getting down as i had a birthday party for my friends boy at 2. Then i looked down and saw two does had snuck in on me. She caught me bringing the bow around but only trotted out to about 20 yards. She didnt go more than 20 yards from the time i shot and fell over where i could see her. Her final gift to me was running into a whole area full of sticker bushes.

  11. not too much moving sunday. It was nice out but the woods are still too thick to see very far. I had a few does moving around 50 yards out. Next weekend i am moving my treestand about ten yards to a different tree that offers better views of the trails i am watching.
  12. Going to go out Sunday morning as it is supposed to be the first frost around here and then get sunny out. I cannot wait!
  13. I should be out atleast once every weekend for the duration of the season.... last year i was out both days but a new baby has me tied down a little more.
  14. That reminds me, last year someone came onto the farm I hunt on and folded up my buddys ground blind and left it leaning on a tree.....they were trespassing as no one else has permission to be on this piece of land behind the house!
  15. We use the same toothpaste! Nice opening day buck!
  16. I see someone hunting on land they do not have permission to be on as poaching. I think god is punishing them and rewarding you. What goes around comes around and this is a thank you from the man upstairs!

  19. I brushed with Crest Complete with Scope Outlast on saturday and had an old doe and 2 button bucks go under my stand. I had also just relieved myself in the opposite direction. Never phases them unless they are sniffing the base of my tree. I have had that stop deer before but never spooked them.
