  2. Friday- bush hog Sat-bush hog-roof camp-football Sun-church then back on tractor Today- looks like going to get out on the lake with the kids. Really need to go to work a few hours. Also need to get some last min scouting done and stand/cams moved. Things are just so wet, Isaac flooded me out.
  3. Good deal Don. Nice bark, more of a limb fisherman myself, limbs put up a good fight! Going to take the boat our with the neighbors wave runners tomorrow. Man I dread the traffic though.
  4. Yes sir I'd be happy to stick him too bud! Nice deer.
  5. Still have folks wanting to particiapate, and of course the sign-up period was very much shorter than it normally is. Let's extend this until Sept 20th, then take till the end of the month to draw some alternates if needed. Just sign up in the original thread. Teams are in groups of nine this year.
  6. Mike B and slaw the sign-up is over, but I have no issue with adding another team if you get 9 together, I don't think anyone would object. Things were off to a slow start this year and I realize some folks don't check in much in the off season. I set the 9-1 deadline to try to get as many add possible signed up since seasons start opening up at that date (some even sooner).
  7. I gave up watching the sport years ago. You can't count on any of it being legit.
  8. About half the days I hunt the wind goes in all directions. About a quarter of the t omw it's "mostly" from a general direction, and every now and then it's a perfect constant stream. Just got to check the wind forecast and get a little lucky and try to reduce your scent.
  9. six teams of nine. If I made a mistake, or left someone out, pm me. good luck to you all.

Sorry about the fat-fingered title, I'll get a mod to edit it along with the team name, never figured out why you can't edit your own thread title, lol.

    New car

One cool looking ride right there!
  17. As long as I have a clear pic of you and the front half of the deer, you can get home and submit a pic of your tag, or a piece of paper with the required info if you don't use tags in FL. Submit both pics at once if you would.
  18. This is the thread for entering your deer in the contest. Some states will have their season started before teams are drawn. If you have signed-up and are in a state that starts early, you may go ahead and enter your deer with the required photos/info and when teams are drawn the points will get awarded properly. INSTRUCTIONS FOR ENTERING A DEER To submit an entry a participant must include in the 2011-2012 RT Forum Deer Contest - ENTRY thread... Your screen name. If applicable, the number of tines that are longer than 1 inch (main beam counts). Your team number and name to help me out. A photo of participant with the deer, Photo must show the entire front half of the deer or more - this is to avoid any possible accusations concerning people entering mounts. NOTE 1: This picture HAS to show both the deer AND THE HUNTER, pics of only the deer will not be counted. NOTE 2: Picture of just the caped out head, skull plate, or skull mount will not be counted. NOTE 3: Photo(s) that all scorable tines can be seen in. If 1" tine is questionable supply a photo with a measurement against the tine for verification. NOTE 4: A clear photo of legal tag. This is a MUST, no deer will be entered without a clear picture of the tag. The tag pic has been the #1 reason for entries not being counted in the contest - DON'T FORGET YOUR TAG PIC FOR PARTICIPANTS IN STATES THAT DO NOT HAVE A TAGGING SYSTEM write the following information down on a piece of paper, your forum name, date deer was taken, state deer was taken in, print and sign your name - scan or take a pic of that info and supply it instead of the tag pic. PLEASE READ - TAG PICTURES FOR CONTEST The main reason for the tag picture is for me to discern a date. That means I have to be able to read the info on the tag. If there is info on the tag that you don't want public such as your address, phone # etc then cover it up or block it out in the photo. What I NEED to see on the tag is your name and a date. SCORING 5 points for a deer. Buck or Doe. 1 additional point will be added for every point on a rack of 1 inch or more. Participant score will consist of 1 deer. If you are allowed to shoot more than 1 deer you may upgrade your score by submitting the new deer, this will cancel out your previous deer. Please follow the rules, it's no fun when folks have their entries not count because of questionable photos. Also, please keep this thread clean with nothing but photos, if you want to congratulate another member for a nice deer, do it in the team threads. Good luck to you all.
  19. Nice ride Lewis! Life is short for sure, and there will be no Dodge products in heaven, enjoy!

    Gun cabinets

X1000 I don't have a safe either, I put all my guns in the hall closet when the kids were born and kept it locked. As soon as they are a little older you teach them gun safety and then you never have to worry about a thing. I can't understand these stories I read where a parent accidentally left a gun out and the child comes home and curiosity leads to tragedy. Teach them soon and early there are no second chances or do-overs with guns and you can throw the locks away.
  21. Tonight sometime when I get back from a football game.
  22. Moved more to the west of us, though we had a lot of rain. My parents breezeway flooded with about 3" of water along with the garage. They closed it in and sheet rocked it a few years ago, only flooded once in 25 years when the lake rose to that level. Lake not that high now, just torrential rainfall that had nowhere to go on flat land.
