Too many factors to list. Last year was the first year in many I did not take a mature buck, they just were not there moving when I was in the stand. Some years are just like that. Weather, pressure from neighbors, etc. Last year the mast crops were massive down here, more acorns on the ground than I've ever seen in my life, food plots were left largely untouched.

Some of the biggest bucks I've ever seen killed were taken in and around beaver ponds. Nothing wrong with cutting a few trees either, 9 times out of ten it helps out in time, creating cover and browse.

Completed listings on ebay will give you a good idea. Not worth much though unless you have great accessories. Maybe 175-225 with some goodies, just shooting from the hip. Good advice above, pick out what you want to buy and ask how much they'll credit you on trade.

They do put off odor but it is mild and almost negligible. Small propane cylinder makes heat and burns off chemicals on a strip. I think one cylinder will burn like 3 strips. Just buy one, trust me. :-)

East Central MS here. Diesel fuel splashed on your corn works great, they love that smell. Get about a gallon of diesel and splash it on the side of a spruce pine and they'll come and start rubbing on it in no time. We can now pretty much hunt them 24/7/365 with lights, bait, you name it.
