  1. I'll have to get out and find some redbellies to catch. I guess it's our version of brookies, lol. Bright colors when you catch them in dark waters.
  2. I would also add that I put a bad shot on doe #2 (my meta peep rolled and she busted me while I was trying to get it straight, then she whirled as I shot). I gut shot her, with the arrow blowing through her femur. Tracked the deer down hours later, had to finish her off with the knife. The NAP had burried in the ground after going through the leg bone, but the arrow was still in the deer, fletching end still in her guts. I washed the arrow, cleaned the dirt out of the BH, and it was just like new, no bends or nothing, just needed sharpening. Only reason I said I wasn't hooked on them is only because of the cutting area just isn't that large. It is though an absolutely foolproof design on the blade deployment, even if the blades were mysteriously epoxied in the closed position, it's still a decent killer, as shown below in the closed position. That's what makes it foolproof, but at the same time it really doesn't have lots of expansion, making it not much more effective than a 2 blade fixed head. Give them a try, they kill deer, just like all the others, lol.
  3. Best wishes for a fast recovery Steve. I know you've been through more than your fair share.
  4. Shot 2 does last year and was pleased. They look a little bulky but the design is foolproof, cutting diameter is not as big a rage, but they are super durable. It's one of those heads you may not get hooked on, but you can't find a good reason to switch either.
  5. MS has lead the pack in executions this year, even passing TX. He'll likely plead guilty and we'll all have to feed this sack of meat for the next 50 years. We've all known hot heads, but it takes a lot more to go and kill a guy over such petty crap and then to even use your child to help load the body to dispose of.
  6. Well, you see this stuff all the time in headlines, but it's always somewhere else, gang/drug/meth head related. Just doesn't make sense. The utility guy allegedly even gave the guy a few hours to try to get some money together and pay the bill. He was shot when he came by. My dad being an electrician worked with Nathan from time to time, he was easy going to say the least. You can tell from the video the shooter had a decent standard of living. God only knows.
  7. So tragic, cousin of one of my friends was shot when he went to pull a meter on a delinquent account. Really easy going guy, and by all accounts the shooter was also. Shot the guy in the chest, then the face as he lay on the ground. All over a bill less than 200 bucks. Sick #$%#$ even got his 14 y/o son to help load the body in a tarp and take him down the road and dump in a ditch, then took the power company truck about 4 miles down the road and hid it. Utility Worker Found Dead You just never know what lies ahead. Sadly the widow's first husband was an electrician and was electrocuted at an early age. Just sad for all involved.

    Sittin in ER

Amen to that. Those of us with insurance know the real cost of going to the ER. Generally speaking it is the absolute worst care you will receive at the absolute highest cost. I do my absolute best to stay out of them.
  12. Sounds like a great time. Kids love heavy equipment (dont we all!). But then again, they're just as happy with a big cardboard box or a fresh pile of dirt!
  13. oldie but still funny....... Wife's Diary: Tonight, I thought Bob was acting weird. We had made plans to meet at a nice restaurant for dinner. I was shopping with my friends all day long; and I was a little late for our "date." Conversation wasn't flowing, so I thought he was upset at the fact that I was a bit late, but he made no comment on it. I suggested that we go somewhere quiet so we could talk. He agreed, but he didn't say much. I asked him what was wrong. He said, 'Nothing.' I asked him if it was my fault that he was upset. He said he wasn't upset, that it had nothing to do with me, and not to worry about it. On the way home, I told him that I loved him. He smiled slightly, and kept driving. I can't explain his behavior; I don't know why he didn't say, 'I love you, too.' When we got home, I felt as if I had lost him completely, as if he wanted nothing to do with me anymore. He just sat there quietly, and watched TV. He continued to seem distant and absent. Finally, with silence all around us, I decided to go to bed. About 15 minutes later, he came to bed. But I still felt that he was distracted, and his thoughts were somewhere else. He fell asleep - I cried. I don't know what to do. I'm almost sure that his thoughts are with someone else. My life is a disaster. Husband's Diary: Boat wouldn't start, can't figure it out.
