  1. Hope you have a great one my friend!!! :happybday::happybday:
  2. I got that one too. Still not voting for the guy lol.
  3. Get there a day before, find some good trails, whether they come out before dark depends on pressure. Early season you'll likely have good results catching them in the field. Bring some binocs, be ready to move your stand if you see the activity is somewhere else. Can't beat preseason scouting, but I have also on a few occasions hung stands and killed deer from them the same day. You should really get up there though 2 hours or not now and do your homework for best results opening day.
  4. Not a fan of the man, but I don't think that's exactly true.
  5. I don't think anybody could really answer that, I sure can't. Higher temps means sweating getting to a stand, therefore I like to be high up to get my scent off the ground as much as possible. Bean fields can be big, pays to glass over them I'm guessing to see where they come out in the evenings. Cut them off as they move back and forth from bedding to feeding areas and keep your scent and presence to a minimum. I'd get my stands set as soon as possible and leave them be.
  6. Almost. Still too humid, the excitement runs out of me at about ten steps from the truck. Walked a half mile Saturday morning sweating my butt off, went to the creek, fought mosquitoes, then realized I had left my SD card at home. Haven't been back down there. Wont be long, a touch of fall will be in the air, and I'll get into it.
  7. Spinach quiche Ingredients: 1 lb bacon 1 bundle green onion chopped 3 cups half and half 1 package fresh mushrooms (canned should work fine) 8 eggs 2 cups shredded cheese 2 packages frozen spinach (i think they are 10 oz, but fresh would work better prob) Preheat oven to 375 Fry bacon, set aside and crumble Sautee mushrooms and onion in bacon grease, drain Whip eggs in a large bowl Add in all the other ingredients, including the thawed and drained spinach Bake at 375 for around 35 minutes, or until firm and lightly browned (like an omelette) May want to cut back to 1.5 packs of spinach and 2.5 cups half and half, and 3/4 lbs bacon. Was a little too much for the two pie crusts. Super easy to make.
  8. Welcome! No advice needed, just enjoy your stay! Lots of new folks joining lately, that's good!
  9. Don't know I'd its the same buck or not Rhine, but I'd be itching to draw on him. He should be adding a few more inches too.

    Welcome, hope you stick around.
  11. You never know what's going to happen. Been pretty quiet around here lately.
  12. Very nice Al! They look great. Careful on the ladder!
  13. I like Spot Hogg a lot. Also check out the tru-glo micro-brite ddp. I'm looking at that, I like the idea of decreasing pin sizes for longer shots.
  14. Usually don't see that this time of year, much more likely to see them hang together in bachelor groups.
  15. Sure is easy to make to, wish I would have found that recipe years ago.
  16. Yeah, you know you want some....... Good groceries Spinach, bacon, green onion, mushroom, cheddar quiche. Good stuff for us fat boys.
  17. Had a roof leak at the camp, got ugly when the wall came down Lots of work ahead and the whole roof has got to be re-tinned.
  18. Remember too there's been many a landowner that has kinda "forgotten" who they've told could hunt over the years.
  19. If you are sure they are poaching then take their stands down and leave them a note (check with the land owner first). Any stand found on our lease comes back to the camp, only had that happen the first year, neighbor was sneaking in off the backside. He never went back in there after that.
  20. More decenter news every day Chris. I hope the news only becomes the most decentest it can be. God bless you all.
  21. Welcome, to the forums!
  22. I'll be glad too. Past 2 seasons I've been swamped with other things, hope to enjoy out a bit more this year.
