Wow- I had to wipe the sleep from my eyes and read this one twice when I seen it. 'BOUT TIME!!! :gun2::boo:

Oh man, pass the hot sauce please,I'm sure a few of them landed on the grill too, lol! I know it sounds rediculous, but stupid little things like that could keep me occupied for hours in front of my lens. You and your girl did good on the pics John. Keep it up and you may find yourself going ga-gah in the camera department next trip into town. These guys are realy cool to me! I really am half tempted to have you send me a few!
-
Maybe a pain to you John, but that's pretty cool from my house! Birdhunter- I'm surprised to see you don't live further south with a menu like that! I wont be stopping over for dinner anytime soon:tooth:

What a handsome little devil! He must get his good looks from his momma! Congrats to the family!

Good stff guys! Hard for me to pass up a picture post. Most of my outdoors favorites are un-hunting related but that's the way I've been leaning lately. I'll try to limit this to my 5 fav's as much as I'd like to post more.. Sorry 'bout that....I'll stop now.

I can think of nothing I'd hate more than a spidey or any other bugs for that matter on my banana, lol.:helpsmilie:

I have the exact same lens in 55-200mm VR I use from time to time when I may encounter shots at closer ranges or portraits and lower light conditions. The VR is nice to have sometimes, but I don't do to much close up stuff with a wide fov that the 18-55 has. For most of my nature shots anymore, I use my Sigma APO-DG 70-300mm. It has it's drawbacks, but I'm getting used to it. These two lens' generaly cover most shots I'm interested in taking.

Lens is like brand new. Maybe 10 total clicks on it. I never use it anymore and it just takes up room in my bag. Bought new with camera. Auto or manual focus and vibration reduction(VR). No scratches or wear. Glass clean and dry. $90 TYD

Very sorry to hear of the loss of your pops Dave. Thoughts and prayers to you and your family. Take care bud. Awesome shots!

Holey smokes, seems a little late to be wearing that kind of camo, but what does this yankee know.:cowboy: Sure that's not an escapee from a fallow deer ranch in the neighborhood? Just askin'!

I think they're all great shots and the subjects are all just as interesting. Without sounding too overly critical, here are my thoughts. #1- I like the simplicity of this shot and the rustic looking lighting on the glove with the over saturation, but it seems to be lacking something. Maybe a bat, or base, or jock strap, or cold brew....I dunno, lol. Nice clean ball and sharp focus really says what this ones all about to me though. #2- You can't go wrong with a tiger pic! I like the way you caught the mood of one of the ultimate predators in a tranquil state. Just wish the focus was more on the face instead of the paw pad. It just seems a little flat to me towards the head where most viewers eyes are going to look at first. #3- I like the story line behind the photo most over the rest of them. It makes you think how that skull got there, what he died from, and where the heck the rest of him is,lol! May have been a little sharper if the background was a bit more in focus along the tree line to give a better feel of where this buck may have come from and a slight boost in contrast between the skull and snow could help some. I may have bumped the F-stop up a tad here. #4- I don't comment on pictures of little boys,lol...,jk. It is a nice shot, with a certain mood to it by the look in his eyes but without any surroundings in the photo, I can't tell where he is or what he looks so disturbed about. I like the way you work on your composition in your photos. I have a terrible time setting up any of my shots. Hope you don't take offence to any of my critique efforts. One of the best things around I've seen on a few photo forums is to give both positives and negatives when someone asks for opinions the way you did here. IMO, it's the best way to learn you'r strong points and your weaknesses. Good luck in the contest! Let us know how you make out.:camera:

Get yourself a tub of hydro plug. It will cure even under water and sets up extremely fast. Most likely your leak will just pop up somewhere further down the line though. It's great for a quick fix that's permanent, but not much help if you've got bigger problems.

Sounds like you got a lemon Tim,lol.:poke: That's a bummer. Have a safe trip!

I appreciate the commments guys! Thanx for having a look. BTW- those cows were in a little county historical museum from this past fall. They were part of an Amish community setting.

Haven't picked up any more sheds lately, but I managed to pull these 3 old deadheads from a new propperty. I'm hoping it holds a few antlers yet.

Wow William, looks fantastic! Almost time to sit back, kick your feet up and enjoy it now! Great job.

Spent some time around the crokus patch today that was swarming with bees getting drunk on fresh nectar. Got to play around with my macro mode a little bit, still need to learn to tame the shallow dof with this lens. These guys don't hold a pose for very long before they dissapear into the flower.. At least I walked away unstung! It's nice to finally see some color around here again. ...and here's a few more recent, and a few random pics I've been messing with lately. Got a little bit of lens flare in this one off a direct sunbeam, but I kinda liked it.

4 more to submit for team #2 Spiker bottom right 3/23/11. The other 3 are April fools sheds...no joke, 4/1/11.

Today decided to leave the fishing pole at home for the trout opener and "just take a walk" to the store checking out some creeks along the way. Good choice! Just wish I'd have wore my boots and had my pocket cam with me. No tall tines in this field, but I did manage to stumble on this spiker....and it was fresh. I was pretty happy about that seeing I'd already been through here a few times and found nothing. Sometimes it's just a matter of aproaching from a different direction. So I get down to the crick and it's thick as pudding in the bottom. I walk into a spot that trapped me with no way out other than the way I came in. .....woah, right at the point of no return I spot this guy! ...as I'm snapping a few pics I notice this guy right beside him in the redbrush tangle. Here they both are in the same shot. I only had my biggest lens with me and couldn't back up anymore for a better ATL. So a nice match set oldie 7pt and a freshy spiker. I aint gonna complain about that when all intentions were to look for a fishing spot and grab a pack of ciggy's! Just as I found my way home, I found this little old shed head cranium capsule to end my smoke run for the day. Now that I've reached my 20 horn goal, I can finally quit smoking!:surrender::no:

Hmmmm, since you say American I guess that rules out my first thought of Nostradamus.:disolve: In that case, I'll have to go with the old lady that used to say...."where's the beef?" She reminded me of my grandmother, lol
-
I think they both have their place and both places look great to me! Seriously. Is that a bee hive in the first pic,lol
-
Pops for me too.....just chew his ear about why we never get along the way we should.

Guess if we got the perfect shot everytime we wouldn't have to go back for more now would we! I'm struggling lately, but I'm sure it's just as much fun as your having if ya get my drift!:paint:
