TransSiberian Orchestra is one of our favorites! My wife and I saw them at Radio City about 15 years ago, what a great show.

Ok, got it out first thing this morning TG!

TurkeyGirl! I've got your package all ready to go, I got to the post office just after closing on Sat, so I'll get it out Mon morning. Hope it gets to you in time!

I spent the afternoon ice fishing on the big setback off the CT River today. We've got 6" + of good ice, will need another couple weeks of cold before getting the shanty out. Guy right next to me pulled up a 23" 4.5 lb Walleye. It snowed all afternoon, was a nice way to spend the Solstice.

Thanks guys, had a ton of fun doing it. I can't believe the sense of accomplishment after keeping at it all season. Probably wont feel this excited about getting a Deer until I get that Big Buck! Thanks again, no doubt these forums contributed to my success!

Nice Doe VTHunter! I harvested my 1st this year ... a doe as well, just shy of 100lbs dressed. Got her in Cavendish, Windsor County. Do you follow VT Big Game Trophy Club on Facebook? Some big Deer out if VT this year! -
I arrowed a Doe yesterday! Finally got my first Deer. 95lbs dressed. I got out well before light, the second to last day and I wanted to get as much time in as possible. The walk in was long and hard. The road wasn't plowed, and the walking was loud and uneven on a thick layer of crust over a 1 - 2 feet of snow. Not to cold at 30 degrees, I arrived at my blind to find it squashed like a bug by a large branch and frozen to the ground, we've had several storms recently. I felt defeated for a minute, but decided I'll stay out all day then call it quits for the season at the end of the day. I propped up my pack against a tree and sat for several hours. It was a beautiful morning. I got cold and figured I'd try to find some tracks. I quickly found a main path beaten down and followed it for a long while. I was finding fresh sign like crazy, and there was still a hot doe around amazingly enough. I approached a hill with a nice thick stand of Hemlocks on top and all of a sudden I hear a group of deer run away on the other side! I climbed up off to one side and sat against a tree, behind a fallen branch. About 15 minutes later a group of does appear from behind a small rock face and walk right in my direction from my left. The wind was in my face and they followed the path and came within 15 feet, really close! I was ready his time. I let her have it and watched her run over the next hill. Easy tracking with all this snow. Straight pass through shot, I had hair and blood right where I shot her. Never found the arrow but there was a 3' streak of blood painted on a snowbank it ricochet off of.

I'd like to again as well! -
My grandfather (A devout Lutheran) and grandmothers brothers (Catholic) were all Masons. One of my best friends is be as well, he moved to a new city and joined to meet new people and for fellowship. They do quite a bit of fundraising and volunteering. His lodge(?) won an award for all the help they provided during Hurricane Sandy. I checked out the Wiki entry and they explain many of the conspiracy theories developed over the years.

We do quite a bit of shopping in NH to avoid sales tax, and of course I report every purchase;)
-
You're supposed to report all non taxed purchases to the State when you file your State taxes. My uncle has been buying cigarettes from NC over the Internet for years, he lives in NY. He never reported the purchases. They caught up with him and he just got a $1300 bill for past due sales tax!

Hope everyone had a great day.

Had the day to myself believe it or not, Wife and kids are still at Grandma and Grampas, we had a big wedding last Sat. I came home ahead of the storm we had. I spent a breath takingly beautiful day in the woods with about 16" of fresh powder. Unfortunately I didn't see a thing ..... Not one single track. Oh well. I got home frozen to the bone, and made a little "Bare Cupboard Dinner" Thanksgiving edition! (We've been out of town for nearly a week!) couple eggs from my neighbors coop, some sausage from my hog I shot this Spring and some of that Maple Smoked cheddar! A couple pigs in a blanket washed down with a couple PBR's. I fell asleep on the recliner a happy man. Missed the family though!

Also: you guys are making hungry!

Thanks Martin! I think I'll see dry roads on the way home for the most part. Hope you and yours have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Looks like a big coastal storm will dump a foot+ of snow across most of New England. I'm currently out of town but ill be heading home tonight ahead of schedule to beat the weather. The wife and kids will stay at Grandma and Grandpas until Sun. I'll miss them on Turkey day .. But at least ill be sitting in the blind all say Wed. + Thurs!!

I'm in NY for a wedding this week. I was having dinner with dear friend who is a Detective in the NYPD Bomb squad. He was in the last graduating class prior to 9/11, his classmate from the academy is now an FBI agent working in Ferguson and sent hem several texts during dinner last night. Apparently there were/are credible threats for escalating riots in most of the big cities across the Country. There seems to be a prevalent 3rd world element.

Well, after an exciting, yet unproductive, early season with my crossbow the rifle opener is tomorrow. Weather looks good, secondary cold front moving through, been spitting snow off and on since last night. Mid 20's tomorrow, cold but not brutal. I set up, and thoroughly brushed in, my new ground blind 3 weeks ago. I got a 3 person RT pop up from Ameristep for $90 off the WallyWorld website. Free shipping to store, picked it up on the way home from work one night. In tax - free NH to boot! Seemed like a pretty good deal to me. I set it up in the back yard for a week prior to get rid of as much intrinsic scent as possible. Put it right next to a giant pine tree, in a bit of a dip, partially hidden on the other side by a rock wall about 25 yds from where they funnel through. Planning on using it for Dec bow season as well. I havent pulled the camera card in 2 weeks, but I still had that 4 ptr showing up last check. I had to work unexpectedly on Mon so today is my only day off this week to prepare. Realized I havent shot my .30-06 since killing that hog this Spring, so I'm headed to the range now! Good luck to everyone, be safe!
