  3. Re: Moron Post**Resurrected Jeez, there are many bored morons in here. Now when I tell Bill I'm going to post someyhing in the forums for feedback, I'll just say "Bill, I'm going to post it in the forums and find out what the "Moronic Members" think!"
  4. Re: Realtree Poll That's why I just deleted that poll. The server showed that there had been some padding from someone. So I got rid of it (including the archives). S
  5. Re: Joining Team Realtree? Thanks. This is all good info. Keep it coming. S
  6. We have been throwing around the idea of some type of Team Realtree exclusive membership (a club or organization). The reason being is that there are many folks out there who think we already have one. We get a lot of emails and letters wanting to know how to join Team Realtree. The reason for this post is to get your feedback on the idea. Would you be interested? What would you expect form the membership? How much for a yearly membership? As far as the benifits, here are my initial thoughts. — A T-shirt, cap, and decal, exclusive to members (and shows that you are an official member of Team Realtree) — A members only section of the forums (or website) that has insider/premium content (Pro-Staff Blogs, behind the scene video, etc.) — A monthly "Insider" email newsletter. — Exclusive discounts on "to be determined" products, etc. These are just a few ideas I have come up. I figured posting it in here to get your ideas or suggestions would help and give you a say on how it would (or could) be created. So let us know. Is this something you would be interested in? If so, what would you expect from this membership? If not, why? I plan to meet with Bill and others later in the week and would like your thoughts from this thread to present at that time. Thanks, S

  13. PETA Upset at Six Flags Roach Contest Sep 25, 7:53 AM (ET) GURNEE, Ill. (AP) - People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals wants Six Flags Great America to scrap its Halloween-themed cockroach-eating promotion. A spokeswoman for the animal rights organization says the contest at the amusement park's FrightFest is "gratuitously cruel." The park in Gurnee, Ill., is joining other Six Flags parks in offering unlimited line-jumping privileges to anyone who eats a live Madagascar hissing cockroach. The bugs are up to three inches long. The contest begins next month. Amusement park officials are defending their menu choice. Great America spokesman Jim Taylor says the bugs are nutritious, high in protein and fat free.

  18. Re: The New Max-1 Camo First things first. Many of us here used MAX-1 all spring long for turkey hunting in GA and FL. And many of us will be using it next month for early bow season. It does work down here (and especially well in pine. Secondly, Nice try Jim . We're having problems getting our hands on any MAX-1 right now. You have to remember, we do not manufacturer any camo product. It's all done by licensened manufacturers (separate companies). S
  19. Re: Team Realtree Jerky! Trail's Best is no longer a part of Sara Lee. Trail's Best was bought by Monogram Food Solutions of Memphis in May of this year. They are not affiliated with Sara Lee and any of their positions on hunting or anti-gun efforts in any way, shape, form, or fashion. In defense of Sara Lee. When this issue arose a couple of years ago there happened to be a group of "civic minded" Sara Lee employees who formed an organization to provide grants to organizations they felt were worthy. Sara Lee corporate had nothing to do with the group other than the fact that they were all SL employees. That group provided a one-time grant to the Sarah Brady Anti-Gun organization Thanks, S
  20. Re: My New Decal Looks cool Luke. Just an FYI that we are currently working oon forum member shirts and decals so everyone can get them one. S
  21. Re: Mr. Waddell, I gotta say.... Michael is out of town today. I forwarded this to him (his Blackberry) and he said he would come in and respond when he gets back. Thanks, S
  22. Re: Realtree.com cover story, suports H.F. Operati OK, the 3 outfits mentioned are now down to 2. It was an honest mistake and was taken care of. Stephanie Mallory (the writer) was actually on a female writer's hunt hosted by the outfitter or someone associated with them. It was for turkey and the turkeys were free range (if there is such a thing as fenced turkey hunting). Anyway, they were not at that location and like we do for many outfits that host these type hunts for writers, manufacturers, reps, etc., Steph took the opportunity to do a write-up about their place (and not knowing it was a fenced operation). Let me say this. We no longer hunt or knowingly promote high fenced hunting. But as long as it is legal and something is mentioned it is not like we have broken a law by doing so. There are still quite a bit of individuals and even companies doing it, televising it, etc. Some don't reveal it (which I think is wrong), but if they can live with it that's fine. I don't like it. But I'm not going to jump folks who do. It is their legal right to do so. It is my opinion that sooner or later it will be outlawed due to the negatives (diseased animals, negative press, etc.). I won't lose any sleep over it when it is gone. Something interesting I heard recently and have not had the time to look into is that to be considered a fenced operation the fence had to be be 8 ft. 6 inches or higher? Anything lower was free range. Has anyone heard what those measurements/guidelines are? S
  23. Re: Realtree.com cover story, suports H.F. Operati I am currently looking in to this (even before this was posted. We have a lot of writers and resources for stories coming in and when you have landowners, guides and such that you rely on for editorial contcts and resources, some things can get by you. I'm trying to find out if this is a case where someone changed jobs or did a favor (without my knowledge) for someone. What sent up the red flag for me was that I did not recognize the name of this place and don't eecall us ever hunting it. We stopped hunting high fence a long time ago and have not promoted it on this site. Give me time for folks to get back with me and it will be taken care of. S
  24. Re: Thanks, Realtree staff......thanks a LOT Have her sit down and watch the DVD with you. She will like it and all will be better! S
  25. Re: Accident on the River Was he tubing at night? If that is the case, there would be issues with those guys. You can't and shouldn't do that. S
