Re: \"Official\" Post Colorado Trip Thread Luke, Not sure if you've looked through this entire thread, but I posted a couple of links to the movie I took of Buckee cleaning the RT sign and a couple of you cutting wood with a special visitor. S

Re: \"Official\" Post Colorado Trip Thread The stream trout were not (and did not) coopoerate. The trout that were caught were the ones schooling in the reservoir. At that point they relied on some guys that had come up there for several years and they used Berkley power baits on a split shot rig (Wasn't that the rig guys? Correct me if I'm wrong).

Re: \"Official\" Post Colorado Trip Thread Glad to see you guys back. I saw the weather reports and knew some more bad stuff had come in. Thanks Steve for everything you and Luke did to set up camp. Without you guys, we might still be up there trying to survive. It was nice to have you two and Charlie up there (folks who knew what they were doing and making sure all of us green horns were taken care of). You can have those passes (Cottonwood, Cumberland, etc.). Great views, but not fun to drive over in those conditions. So Steve B., I guess you got a trailer rented? Did everyone get out with all their equipment in one piece? I was very excited to hear about Snapper and his elk. Can't wait to read and see what it was. Luke. Thanks man. You really worked your tail off and I appreciate it. And yes you do snore. Not as loud as Buckee, but you do. As far as your pics go, start posting them here. I'm going to keep this thread sticky for a while and it will be read and followed for quite some time. This trip was a memory I will have forever. One day last week, both Steves, Luke and I were hanging out in camp and I mentioned to them how the internet has changed our lives and made the world smaller. It's true. Without it (the internet) none of us would know each other. I would have probably never had the chance to spend 4-5 days in the Rocky Mountains. I would have never met Steve Beilgard or hunted with him in Wyoming for antelope. Think about it. No TN, OK, NY, CO, get togethers. We have a good thing going here in these forums. Let's continue to build it and get together when we can. I look forward to the next one. S PS. Luke, prayers go out to your wife for a safe and strong recovery.

Re: RT Halloween Costumes You have no idea how much I want to crank up PhotoShop for this, but am short on time and long on work. Maybe this weekend. S

Re: \"Official\" Post Colorado Trip Thread That's great Jeff! Can't wait to hear about it. By the way, for those who couldn't open the movie of Buckee cleaning the RT Camp sign, he is now a YouTube star! Click Here!

Re: \"Official\" Post Colorado Trip Thread There was wild game spotted. I just didn't talk about it much. In this first shot, I set up a trail cam just above camp and got this great shot (That's Steve B's tent in the background). And I mentioned earlier that Luke was the working man in camp. When he got to chopping wood, nothing could distract him. Check out these two shots I got while he was hard at work!

Re: \"Official\" Post Colorado Trip Thread Thanks. Quicktime is what I used. If I was better with the movie files, I would save it out in different formats. S

Re: \"Official\" Post Colorado Trip Thread The video is a simple mpeg file and loaded the only way I know how to in here. S

Re: \"Official\" Post Colorado Trip Thread Steve B. brought along a secret call weapon. A very effective cow elk call that many in camp tried. I never saw it used in the field, so I'm not sold yet. However, watching some use it in camp was very entertaining... I mean incredible!

Re: \"Official\" Post Colorado Trip Thread OK, let's try a little movie from the trip. Our RT Camp signs were covered in snow Sunday morning and Buckee volunteered to get out in the cold and work hard to clear them up. Watch how he gets his gloves ready! Click Here

Re: \"Official\" Post Colorado Trip Thread The two big ones are yours? I can tell you missed church on Sunday!

Re: \"Official\" Post Colorado Trip Thread Thank you Steve and all the others. It was a great time. Luke has got to be one of the hardest working men I have ever met. He would never stop working around the camp. OK, some more pics. This first one is Buckee taking all of the fishing glory (it's time to fess up old man!) This next one is the results of that shoreside excursion! And this one is "Find those mulies!" There are 4 mulies here that we spotted eating someone's flowers and bushes (in their front yard). Can you find all four? Buckee and I caught these guys on our way back to Denver in Buena Vista.

Re: \"Official\" Post Colorado Trip Thread I hope to post the results of that fishing tonight. S

Re: Public apology to Buckee That was the truck in front of us. Our smell was frozen solid!

Re: \"Official\" Post Colorado Trip Thread Keep in mind that there will be many (probably hundreds of pics posted in here over the next couple of weeks. Here are a few to give you an idea of what the camp looked like. All the tents/campers were set-up in a 75-100 yard area overlooking a creek (Thanks to silvertip_co (Charlie) for reserving the great location).

Re: \"Official\" Post Colorado Trip Thread Just got my pics downloaded, so hope to start posting some today. S

I have decided to start it in here this morning. This thread can be used to post pics, thoughts and stories on the trip. Please keep in mind that there are still folks up in those mountains and it will probably be this weekend and next week, before everyone has a chance to come in. Unfortunately, I can't post any of my pics until I hunt down the correct cable or card reader to retrieve them from my camera. I'm sure Steve (Buckee) will be the first sometime today. All I can say is that we had a great time. I didn't hunt, but wouldn't trade anything for the trip or the experience of being in that camp. I won't lie, me and the others were disapointed that more folks didn't make it, but understand that a trip like this is a big investment for many. Tony, we were glad to see you were home safe and sound. I saw your post about leaving (the night before I left) and when you didn't show up, we were concerned. We didn't have any communication means with the outside world and just didn't know. The Rocky mountains are hard to describe. Pictures do not describe what we saw and experienced. I will say that the Cottonwood pass will take your breath away in more ways than one:) Right Buckee? (I'll let the others describe it in more detail). Keep coming back and checking this thread as the stories and pics start telling the story. These get togethers are something we need to do on a regular basis. S

Re: Colorado Elk Hunt Make that 12,000 feet plus

I am waiting to fly out of Denver in the AM, so I will wait till I get home to post pics and get into great detail later in the week. I will say that it was cold and that it was also real cold. It was. The snow was cold, the strong winds were cold. Did I mention that it was cold? And it's "not cool" to go 5 days without a shower. S

Re: Waddell on AT chat again You guys chill a little. Give me a day or two to get back in the office and I will respond to this thread. S
