Re: Carbon Arrow Help [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Two Words: GOLD TIP [/ QUOTE ] I second that! Gold Tip XT Hunters. you won't find comparable quality for the price anywhere [/ QUOTE ] I'll third that!!!!! [/ QUOTE ] me too
  2. Re: Is it ironic... Sometimes I wonder too about those types of "drama" on TNT.
  3. Re: Jr. Wins, Finally The only car that matters is the one who takes the checkered first. No matter who drives it.
  4. Re: Jumping the string [ QUOTE ] What actually causes a deer to jump the string and what are the best ways to prevent it? [/ QUOTE ] 1. Noise and movement 2. You can't. They don't make a bow that is so quiet a deer can't hear within 20 yards. Although some bow owners/manufacturers would try to make you think that. Just aim lower..............And that doesn't guarantee anything. Quiet when drawing is important.
  5. Re: What was Your Coolest Hunting Experience. In 1996. I had missed 1993, 94, and 95 hunting seasons because I was stationed in England. Me and buddy of mine caught a military flight (hop) to Atlanta, rented a car, went to his hometown in Tenn, had permission to bowhunt on a 250 acre farm we never set foot on before, scouted on sunday and by 0800 monday, we each had a doe down. Then we went to my dads farm in WV the next week and arrowed a couple more. That was fun.
  6. Re: Broadhead and Arrow Tuning? It may not be the arrow, but the insert shoved in the front end. I don't think the machining quality of some inserts is that great. BH's and field points are kinda wobbly when screwing in and the shank is not that close tolerance.

    question

[ QUOTE ] what kind of broad heads would yall think would be best [/ QUOTE ] Just about any BH if the insert is squared and the arrow is tuned to the bow properly.
  8. Re: jamie to the 6.... [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I wonder how it will effect the #42 now that they are in the run for a championship? Seems awful early to be talking about switching teams. [/ QUOTE ] Jamie will supposedly drive the complete 2006 season in the #42 too. [/ QUOTE ] Yep, that's what I read too.
  9. Re: Liberal Bias in the media! I wonder if this post will be locked by a mod. And of course after we hear his viewpoint AGAIN.

  11. Re: Michael Crook: Forsake the Troops That's what I thought..........
  12. Re: Michael Crook: Forsake the Troops I'd like to see a bigger stink made by the public. This makes the Dixie Chicks seem like angels. JMHO
  13. Re: Practicing with broadhead..... About a month out I'll get the bare shafts shooting the best I can for tuning purposes. And then see how they (BH) fly. When bare shafts and fletched shafts hit very close at 20 yards, it'll be easy to tune the BH from there.
  14. Re: Any spitfire broadhead users out there? I'm gonna try them this fall. I've been a long-time Muzzy shooter. But I too nailed a hog this spring with a spitfire and it did the job. It'll make practicing easier without a special target.
  15. Re: Truex Re-signs with DEI Yep. Him and the #8 persona is matching up real well. He's been in the public eye for a couple years now driving an 8. No reason to stop now.

    Practice Tips??

Re: Practice Tips?? Try shooting at 20,30, and 40. Making good 40 yard shots will make the 20 yarders alot more confident. If you are hunting from a treestand, practice from a treestand. While there, come at full draw like you would on level ground and keep everything locked in place. Then pivot down the entire upperbody at the waist when shooting. And try shooting while sitting in the stand (preferably with the clothes you'll wear hunting). Also try shooting on the side of a hill, because you can easily get lefts or rights by canting the bow. A sight level comes in handy for this. And go to a local 3D shoot for fun.
  17. Re: ? about torqueing a bow shot [ QUOTE ] This makes me wonder how many shooters in here use a bow sling around their bow handles. I have never used one, but I see many who do just for the torqueing reason. too_pointer [/ QUOTE ] If I don't use the sling, my bow will go flying down range..trust me!
  18. Re: Telemarketers even make deer mad. I just hope the deer was alright..................
  19. Re: What\'s the definition of macho? When the dock says wait a week to um "say hi" to the wife, he means it. I should have listened....

  23. Re: The Bible- Fiction or Non-fiction? I tried rewording (hence 7:33 vs your 7:40), but the Michael Crook post got the best of me! You are a mod, so congrats. Now go cut and paste some more in wonderland......
  24. Re: Michael Crook: Forsake the Troops [ QUOTE ] that little worm wouldn't last all of 10 seconds in the military [/ QUOTE ] Let him walk in Downtown, USA and see what happens.................
  25. Re: The Bible- Fiction or Non-fiction? fisherguy, No you don't have too. Some try the hardest to prove they think they are right. Humans need something to grasp on to even if it's "wishful thinking."
