I was coming back from dropping off my daughter at grandma's, and noticed an odd thing.....a bronze creature in the middle of the road., so I turned around and of course, almost got killed by traffic, but found out it was a bronze, with white blaze on his chest, MINK. He was in prestine condition for being dead, so I called my co hunter safety instructor/educator, who works full time as an educator for the State of Illinois in Conservation and Prairie restoration, and asked him if he could use the mink for the kids display. The Jarrett Center outside of Byron, Illinois has a wide range of all wildlife that inhabit Illinois on display in a wonderful setting. He was estatic, stating that the old mink was in horrible condition, and they would greatly send this one to a professional taxidermist. So I got the clear from Conservation, then the Jarrett Center, and the mink is now being sent to a taxidermist, and I filled out the donation paperwork, and will be excited when the minks display is complete so that kids and adults can see a wonderful specimen of the creature. Just thought I would share this strange find. al
