I started my vacation on Friday, November 2nd. I had already arrowed a doe and a young 8 point so my season was off to a great start.
That following weekend, I hunted hard, but did not see a deer. I was getting pretty frustrated because I knew the rut was close and my lease has always come through during this time of year.
Fast forward to Thursday, November 8th. Over the previous 10 sits, I had seen a total of 3 deer. I was planning on getting down a little early because a buddy and I were heading up to my other lease about 2 hours north of here.
At 7:10, I saw this bad boy coming my way from the east(wind was blowing from east). I stood up, moved my face mask, adjusted my glasses and clicked on my release. At 40 yards, he stopped and hit an old scrape. I drew back my bow. After what seemed like forever, he started walking straight towards me. At about 25 yards, he hit a trail, turned broadside and stopped. My HHA adjustable sight was already set on 25, so I settled my pin a little behind his shoulder since he was quartering away and released. He high kicked and took off running. I let out a loud mouth grunt and he slowed down a bit. At 70 yards, he slowed to a stop and started looking around. I started questioning my shot then. But then he fell down. I waited and listened as he took his last breaths. Gave him an hour and then went to recover my biggest bow kill to date!

I just picked his cape up from the processor and plan on scoring him tonight for the AT deer contest so I will let you know what he scores.
