  1. Re: Good first night.. Four crappie..WOW Maybe you should try goin crappie before ya go out fishin next time. It can be a real problem on a small boat. If I went fishin and had 4 crappie while I was out there, I'd look up my doctor when I got in to shore. It's a wonder ya caught any bass at all....LOL [ 06-26-2003, 06:48 AM: Message edited by: buckee ]
  2. Re: Tip of The Week Good tip Jim I like to go out after the season ends in December and scout around to see who's still kickin for the next season . I also like to check out all the deer trails at that time of the year, because they are so much more visable and well trodden. They really show up great. That's the time of the year, I ussually decide on where to put a blind or tree-stand for the next season.

    MMMMMMM....

Re: MMMMMMM.... I've got some wild boar chili in the pot as we speak.
  4. Re: Practice...Sitting down.... I practice from my 3 legged stool that I use in my ground blinds and from my knees also. It's rather comfortable and stable actually. You have to sit at an angle from your target though, in order to get to full draw. I have shot a lot of deer from my stool in a ground blind. It's just as much fun and even a little more intense, than sitting in the treestand.

  6. Who are those guys...LOL Just kidding...welcome the the Realtree forums cjsportsman. They don't show there faces in here too much at all, but we have enough fine folks in here to keep you company, any time. One of these days they may get out from under their busy schedules to drop in and visit for a bit, but until then, we'll just have to hold the fort...LOL

    Hunter Winstead

Re: Hunter Winstead I saw Hunter in there too .....pretty cool
  12. Re: Tip of The Week Another good one Jim_the_tip_man. Nothing worse than having your hunting buddy come trapesing through your area, just when things are supposed to be getting hot, or having the person sitting with you swat at a fly, at just the wrong moment. We even have a rule, that if you hear me shoot, don't come running to see what I got...If I need you, I'll come and get you, after the hunt is over. I wouldn't want to spoil a chance at maybe a double header, while out hunting with a friend.
  13. He's been there done that msm. My heart and prayers go out for you, your wife and for this little boy and his Father. Sad news ...keep your chin up
  14. Re: Tip of the week Hey jimt ...does that "t" stand for "tip"....LOL I'll have to start calling you JimTip... Good tip ...Like wigs says, you can call in the bucks all the time, but during the rut, it is very hard to call a buck away from a doe. What you have to think about is getting the doe to come in and the buck will follow. Since a bucks stomach isn't really his top priority during the rut, it is a good thing to rely on the does appetite instead. If baiting is legal in your area, this is probably the best time to do it. That's when I like to put out the vanilla. [ 05-31-2003, 10:02 PM: Message edited by: buckee ]
  15. Re: No big surprise really Sorry TrueLife , I missed your post.....Welcome to the Realtree forums. Your going to love this place.
  16. Re: No big surprise really I think they look much better and more natural without the plaque too. Norm has quite a nice collection in his den downstairs. The more mounts you get, the more you'll wish you never went with the plaque behind them, because it's hard to get them all the same.
  17. Is that ever pretty ....I love all those fall colours. Thanks for the pic....makes me want to go hunting..LOL
  18. Re: Down sizing images? That's what I do too Nick.....I take mine down to 25% or 30% on both heigth and width.
  19. Re: Tip of the Week Good tip...I have hunted some farms that either border the town or are not too far from town for the last 10 to 26 years They are all less than 10 minutes from the driveway. The thing I have noticed over the years is no matter how much scouting you do on the property each and every year....come rut.....you see deer you have never, ever, seen before on the property. So..yeh...good post...hang in there and make it pay. one of my favourite sayings for hunting is "Stick and stay...make er pay" [ 05-27-2003, 04:47 PM: Message edited by: buckee ]

  22. Re: Just to let you all know I'm so sorry man...so sorry It's hard to find the answers, isn't it. I wish I had some magic words to tell you and everything would be OK, but only time will let the truth be known. Keep your doors open for him in the future, he may need someplace to run to where he is truly loved as he grows older. My hearts aches for you. I'll keep you in my prayers.
  23. Re: Just to let you all know That's crappy alright, It's obvious who loves the boy and who is just playing him as a card. I feel for you both, but I am also concerned about the child. The change in his attitude towards you both bothers me. Have you sat down with him calmly and lovingly and asked him if everything between him and his Dad is OK. Something may have happened between them, that has caused the boy to blame you guys...who knows If he doesn't want to talk about it or you feel he is holding back the truth, then maybe you should inform him that it looks like he will be living with his Dad soon, unless there is a good reason why he shouldn't.. If something Bad has happened between them, he may open up to you about it with the knowledge that he may have to spend a whole lot more time with his Dad. I don't know...I'm reaching here too, because I can imagine what you two must be going through. Keep praying for Gods intervention if it is his will. God be with you...all three of you. Spanking?

Re: Spanking? Hey Tom...no need to apologize buddy. I think this is a great post. Makes everyone sit back and think. As far as digging up old memories...they are always there buddy...no need to dig nothing up. My Mom gave her share of spankings to us kids ...but they were just that ..spankings and never in anger. A wack on the butt to get our attention, when all else failed. She (of course) wasn't the kind of Mom who would say wait till your Father gets home, because she was afraid for us. Sure miss her ....I was lucky to have such a loving Mother. This is a Darned good thread Tom...don't apologize ...and don't feel sorry for me, because I can do that one all by myself...OK...LOL [ 05-22-2003, 10:07 PM: Message edited by: buckee ]
