  2. Re: Conspiracy in Texas???? Drudgereport.com Earle Seeks Second Delay Indictment After Errors With First Tue Oct 04 2005 10:29:52 ET The AUSTIN AMERICAN-STATESMAN reports, Travis County prosecutors rushed Monday to fix problems with an indictment against DeLay by charging him "with the first-degree felony of money laundering. Last week a Travis County grand jury ended its term by indicting DeLay on a charge that accused him of conspiring to violate state campaign finance laws. The problem with that indictment, according to DeLay's lawyers, was that the conspiracy law did not apply to the election code in 2002. The Texas Legislature changed the law, which went into effect Sept. 1, 2003. That left Travis County District Attorney Ronnie Earle and his assistants presenting a complicated case to a group of grand jurors on their first day of meeting. Prosecutors hoped to fix the problem by reindicting DeLay on charges that he conspired to launder corporate money into political donations. In 2002, the conspiracy law applied to money laundering. Developing... ______________________________________ Hopefully, that doesn't throw Ronnie Earle's movie off that he is making about indicting Delay. It wouldn't be much of an ending without some type of indictment. Ronnie Earle Movie

  4. Re: What kind of video camera??? I assume you want a digital? I have an older sony digital8 that has performed well for me although most have went to MiniDV or recording directly to dvd's or even harddrives. Many of the cheaper cams lack the manual controls and options that some of the more expensive cams offer. Consumer reports has lots of info and ratings if you want to pay to see it. Camcorderinfo.com and easycamcorders.com also have lots of info that might help you out. I like to go to a large electronics store and handle the cameras in person before buying. Just looking around a bit I would take a look at the Panasonic PV-GS35 , it appears to have the manual controls that you desire and I would love to try out its 30X optical zoom.
  5. Re: savage smokeless? I have two brothers who have the Savage 10ML II and have used them myself along with sighting them in. They are not perfect but whenever my supply of clear shot runs out my CVA will be gone and I will get one myself. I really like the bolt that doesn't need a capper to get the primer in or out and I have been fairly pleased with the accuracy although I had to shorten the scope base screws on the newest one.
  6. Re: AKC REGISTERED PUPPIES FOR SALE!!! Shipping in the lower 48 runs about $210-$220 depending on weight (under 50 lbs or so) on Continental and Northwest.
  7. Re: AKC REGISTERED PUPPIES FOR SALE!!! UPS will not ship dogs, you would probably have to ship via airline. I have used both northwest and Continental. I use Continental whenever possible, but Northwest will fly dogs into more cities.
  8. Re: Did you know Bush is.... It was Kanye West. Kanye West Rips Bush During NBC Concert article Sep 3, 6:08 AM (ET) By FRAZIER MOORE (AP) Kanye West performs on ABC's "Good Morning America" concert series at New York's Lincoln Center on ... NEW YORK (AP) - It began, fittingly enough, with jazz from New Orleans natives Harry Connick Jr. and Wynton Marsalis. But "A Concert for Hurricane Relief," a heartfelt and dignified benefit aired on NBC and other networks Friday night, took an unexpected turn thanks to the outspoken rapper Kanye West. Appearing two-thirds through the program, he claimed "George Bush doesn't care about black people" and said America is set up "to help the poor, the black people, the less well-off as slow as possible." The show, simulcast from New York on NBC, MSNBC, CNBC and Pax, was aired live to the East Coast, enabling the Grammy-winning rapper's outburst to go out uncensored. There was a several-second tape delay, but the person in charge "was instructed to listen for a curse word, and didn't realize (West) had gone off-script," said NBC spokeswoman Rebecca Marks. West's comment about the president was cut from NBC's West Coast airing, which showed three hours later on tape. The host was NBC News' Matt Lauer, who invited viewers to contribute to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund by phone or on the Web. Some 18 presenters performed musical numbers or gave information on the tragedy's huge scope. Louisiana native Tim McGraw teared up as he told Lauer, "I know the citizens that weren't affected by this directly are gonna stand up and do good things for people." He sang two songs, then became the first of the evening's stars to sign a Gibson Les Paul Special guitar to be auditioned online. Faith Hill, a Mississippi native, sang "There Will Come a Time," with the inspiring lyrics, "The darkness will be gone, the weak shall be strong. Hold on to your faith." New Orleans son Aaron Neville performed Randy Newman's soulful "Louisiana 1927" with the memorable chorus, "they're trying to wash us away, they're trying to wash us away." New York governor George Pataki presented the Red Cross with a check for $2.5 million and promised, "This great state will do far more." "In terms of property damage," said actress Hilary Swank, "the estimate is at least $26 billion in insured losses and perhaps twice that in uninsured losses over a 90,000-square-mile area - approximately the size of Kansas." Other speakers included Lindsay Lohan, Eric LaSalle, Glenn Close, Richard Gere, John Goodman and Leonardo DiCaprio. Comedian Mike Myers was paired with West for a 90-second segment that began with Myers speaking of Katrina's devastation. Then, to Myers' evident surprise, West began a rant by saying, "I hate the way they portray us in the media. If you see a black family, it says they're looting. See a white family, it says they're looking for food." While allowing that "the Red Cross is doing everything they can," West - who delivered an emotional outburst at the American Music Awards after he was snubbed for an award - declared that government authorities are intentionally dragging their feet on aid to the Gulf Coast. Without getting specific, he added, "They've given them permission to go down and shoot us." After he stated, "George Bush doesn't care about black people," the camera cut away to comedian Chris Tucker. Concluding the hour a few minutes later, Lauer noted that "emotions in this country right now are running very high. Sometimes that emotion is translated into inspiration, sometimes into criticism. We've heard some of that tonight. But it's still part of the American way of life." Then the entire ensemble performed "When the Saints Go Marching In." In a statement, NBC said, "Kanye West departed from the scripted comments that were prepared for him, and his opinions in no way represent the views of the networks. "It would be most unfortunate," the statement continued, "if the efforts of the artists who participated tonight and the generosity of millions of Americans who are helping those in need are overshadowed by one person's opinion." Friday's program was the first of several TV benefits planned through next weekend. NBC and the five other major commercial broadcast networks, along with PBS, plan to unite next Friday for a special. The same night, BET will air a benefit. And on Saturday, Sept. 10, the MTV networks will air a special.

  10. Re: HELP!! Leaf River (Ulead software) problem Do you get the pics off of a memory card or plug the camera in to the PC? I never use the software that comes with cameras, Windows XP will take them off just like the camera is a removable hard drive. I have found that is easier than installing the software that comes with the camera, unless there is something different about the leaf rivers I don't know about.
  11. Re: video camera question What kind of camera is it? Are you talking about grabbing stills from the video or did you use the still camera function? Most vid cams have a memory card that saves the still images, you would either need a reader for whatever card it uses or you might be able to download the pics directly from the camera with a cord. Look at the directions that came with your camera it might help out.

  13. Re: Help?Video email ? start > all programs > accessorries >windows movie maker
  14. Re: Help?Video email ? You will probably need to encode it to a Windows media file. If you run windows XP you should have windows movie maker that will do it. Pinnacle studio will also do it as well as many other programs. If you look around you might find some freeware or a trial version that will do it as well.

  16. Re: MPEG/AVI Start> All Programs> Accessories> Windows Movie Maker That is where it is on XP Professional. I'm not sure if XP Home has it installed?
  17. Re: MPEG/AVI If I recall it was $80 or $90 bucks. You can get pinnacle studio Plus Version 9 for less than that off of the internet.
  18. Re: MPEG/AVI I have pinnacle studio 8 and it will convert avi to realmedia, windows media, cd, dvd, and mpeg. There are some other programs out there that you can download that will do it as well. Most are trial versions that only work for a while or are not fully functioning.
  19. Re: Brothers First Turkey Hunt This was a special disabled hunt that I took my brother on at a park. Only disabled hunters can go in where we were at, although there is other hunting around the edges. This light pressure and a high turkey population probably make it a bit easier than what you and I usually go through to get a bird. I was just happy he got a bird, being deaf and a paraplegic makes turkey hunting in most areas impossible.
  20. Re: Is this a virus??? I wouldn't open that zip file. Sounds fishy to me.
  21. This is video of my brothers first turkey hunt ever. They came in at 6:55 AM during Iowa's second season. The bird weighed 21.5 lbs, 10" beard, 1 1/4" and 1 1/8" spurs. Brothers First Turkey Hunt Video (4,094 k .wmv)
  22. Re: Cuddeback Users...Disk Question? I've bought Smartmedia cards at walmart in the past but have not looked lately. They have been phased out by most companies it seems. If you find the right place you can get Smartmedia cards pretty reasonable, I've got some OK deals off ebay as well.
  23. Re: Cuddeback Users...Disk Question? Smartmedia cards are about the thickness of an envelope.
