He sure was a big one too! I had some pesky squirrels bothering me all morning while I hunted and didn't see a deer. So when I was sittin in my truck about to leave, and happened to see a squirrel low in a tree out in the open, my killer instincts came alive. I quickly put my release back on, and then grabbed my bow. I looked at my quiver, and hesitated for a minute, it seems that all I had with me were my expensive G5 stryker broadheads on my carbon express arrows. Oh well, it's worth it.lol. So I step out and the squirrel climbs the tree just a bit, but stops giving me a wide open shot. I double lunged him at about 10 yards! I had to blood trail him a good 70 or 80 inches from the bottom of the tree, but I found him. haha. Of course the arrow landed another hundred yards out into the field behind it, fortunately the arrow and broadhead were still in perfect shape!

since when did we have a who's online feature? i thought we had lost it a long time ago after a different upgrade. wheres this thing at?

Congrats lil strut. you have a pretty good first name too! lol Hopefully i'll get my first bow deer this year too.

That is spooky. I'm gonna have to check my arrows before I shoot again now. On a side note, over the summer I developed a habit of shooting with my bow hand pretty much open. I didn't realize it until practicing with broadheads, but that grip was putting my top finger up above the arrow shelf, where the broadhead would easily slice it. Now I'm worried I'll accidentally do it while hunting so I'm trying to break the habit.

Spose to drop to the 30's here in Indiana next week. I'm not complaining. Hopefully it'll make for some good bowhuntin.

it has been awhile. where'd you run off to?

depends on where I end up stationed at. The only centerfire rifle I have is my Bushmaster A3. I want to buy a nice bolt action gun sometime, but I feel like I should wait until I have something to use it for, first. I really, really want to build an AR-10. Something pretty much full custom for long range shooting. Not because I need it, but because I want it. It's just completely unpractical here in Indiana because the places I shoot at, top out at about 150 yards...

I like the idea and the meaning behind that tat, I just don't like that its a company's logo.(or at least a tv shows...) It looks good though. I'm wanting to get a tat sometime after boot camp, still can't decide what I want though.

I have the env3. The more I use the internet on it, the more I want to. I don't actually have it on my plan so I get charged by the minute or something like that, so I don't use it too often. But I love internet on my phone. the env's web browsing isn't that great though.

Since I've done pretty much nothing but work since my sophomore year of high school, I finally decided to get some time off before I leave for basic training. I quit my job at pizza hut(where I worked for over 2 1/2 years) a few weeks back, and today was my final day in the lawn care industry as well! This gives me a whole 40 days off, to do whatever I want, until I leave. Tomorrow, I'm heading down to Miami for a long weekend. Plannin on goin to South Beach all night Friday, then Saturday is game time. We'll be tailgating before the Miami-Oklahoma game, then me and a group of people are body painting, so hopefully we'll be on TV. Look for me! lol. I don't know how much I'll be on the comp. this weekend, so I hope you guys have as much fun as I do. I just wanted to brag a bit about my nice long vacation, just in time for bow season!

I was reading this thread the other day thinkin "hmm, i'm glad I don't know anybody who has this. I haven't even heard of a case locally." Then yesturday I found out one of my best friends has it. Go figure. I talked to him on the phone today though, he said it really isn't too bad. I just hope it doesn't spread too much more around here.

I'd be willing to wager that PSE still sells more bows than Hoyt or Mathews. Just due to the fact that you can get them at Bass Pro, Cabelas, and other major retailers that don't sell Hoyts and Mathews bows. Tons of people buy their bows from these retailers, most of which probably don't get on the online forums and such just to read about how many people think X brand is better than Y.

Ever have one of those days? You know the type, where Everything seems to go wrong? Thats about how my day has gone. I work for a lawn care company. All we planned to do today was mow one commercial property, would've taken about 2.5-3 hours for the two of us. I get to work late, then find out our boss took the work truck which has our 2 cycle gas in it. He also never got us any weed-eater string after we ran out last week. So we get everything loaded up and head to the equipment store we always use. There is a random notice on the door saying its closed today... so we drive back across town to home depot and buy the stuff we need. Get out to the truck, and the keys are locked inside it. (see where this is going) Luckily, the guy I was with left his window cracked, and we were able to use the handle of a measuring wheel thing to unlock it. Next we go to the gas station to get our gas for the 2 cycle. We leave the radio on while the gas is pumping. We get back in, ready to go, the truck battery is dead... so we finally get a jump and take off across town again to where we were mowing. We get everything out, work for about 5 minutes, and out of nowhere it starts pouring down rain. We load up, try to wait it out but just head home after about 10 minutes. In 2 hours of work today, we accomplished nothing at all. So we'll just tack todays work onto tomorrow, because you know I love to have a long workday on a Sunday... Then the Hurricanes lost.

I love that song too. I heard it the first time at least a month ago though. Been listenin to it ever since, even put it on a CD.

Looking for ducks or goose decoys? On duck floaters, you can spend anywhere from $25 a dozen to $300+ a dozen for custom dekes. Goose decoys are the same way. GHG decoys look great, but the paint will chip quickly. G&H decoys will hold up forever, but they don't look as good as most of the newer stuff. Bigfoot goose decoys have proven to have great paint, and look good enough. I haven't heard much on their duck decoys though. Find what you like, and what you can afford and buy it.

What school are you talking about? My coach from 8th grade through my junior year was the former coach at Mt. Carmel. I have heard of several of the big teams from So. Illinois.

It is legal to have that stand up in Indiana. But it has to have a name, phone number, and address on it. Maybe knock on his door. If theres no address, seems like the stand should be taken down by the DNR guys. I would leave it alone until you get ahold of the guy. Even though he did "steal" your spot(and may have not even known it) it could still cause a bit of trouble if you meet at o dark thirty on opening day.

torn ligaments don't necessarily mean surgery, or being on crutches forever. It really varies a lot from person to person. A buddy of mine managed to play an entire football season with a completely torn ACL, then got his surgery after winning a state championship... You may have some hope. During high school, there were several players on my team who would tear an ACL, MCL, or miniscus during season and be back playing only a few weeks later. Of course, a couple had to sit the rest of the season too.

haha I want a 1911 next. Almost bought one last week but decided to wait because I am leaving for boot camp in 2 months. I'll get one sometime next year. 2 new pistols is enough for me this summer. lol.

I was surprised nobody posted about this game yet. My sister goes to the U so I've become a big Miami fan over the past few years. I was pumped tonight after that victory. One heck of a game for sure.
