  1. Here's the tractor and disc. I don't think my daughter's snapped a picture of the planter yet.
  2. I'm one of those weirdos too. I write left, but do most things right. I'm left eye dominant. As long as I close my left eye when shooting I'm fine, if I leave it open, I miss pretty bad. As long as I use a peep on my bow, I'm good. The only real trouble I have is shotgun hunting. I typically don't wink an eye, so I sometimes miss on right to left crossing shots if my left eye takes over. I'd suggest you let your boy choose and go with what he's more comfortable with.
  3. Ummmm, yeah. 2 acres in less than 10 minutes!
  4. Gutsy kid. I know, at our school at least, the speeches are approved by the senior class advisor just to make sure there's no profanity or anything inappropriate. They are given a lot of leeway. I'd say in listening to 20+ valedictorian speeches over the years, 99% of them address how that one person can represent and communicate the hopes and dreams of his or her class and community. There was no violation of The Constitution IMHO. The student had the right to speak and that right wasn't abused. Like it or not, this country was founded on Christian principles, if you don't like it, fine, you have that right. If you don't like or believe in the Lord's prayer, don't listen, simple as that. On another note, the topic of another thread if I cared to banter, which I don't, I often listen to an evangelist on the radio. I don't know his name, but he usually has a good message. I caught him yesterday and his point yesterday was--there are no such things as atheists. There is light in everyone. Who put it there? 9 The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God. 1 John 9-13 The atheist is the one who is uncomfortable with the truth, who is not secure with his or her light.
  5. By the way...it works.
  6. Good stuff. What's in the garden? I recognize peas, corn, zucchini, lettuce....
  7. I use a solar unit, but not nearly 8 acres. I agree with William on the double perimeter. I run 3 strands, 1 high for the deer, 2 low for the coons. In my experience, the deer will come up to the fence, probably sniff it, get zapped and they run off. I don't think they have the cognitive ability to weigh the options of how to get in like coons do. Coons figure it out sooner or later, deer seem to leave it alone once they get zapped. I agree with the roundup on the perimeter too.
  8. We're all morons William, some just have more land than others.
  9. All my stuff is in. Food plot corn is up about 3". First sweet corn plot is up about 3". Second is up about an inch, third just got watered in last night with a good downpour. I have one more plot of sweet corn to go in then it's just sit back, weed and watch it grow.
  10. Yep. Used to only be my home computer, but now it's on my work computer. Don't really have the time or inclination to ferret it out.
  11. We don't have too much trouble with crows, but I've popped a few blackbirds eating my corn sprouts in the past. Deer are my biggest pest early in the garden, then coons as the corn matures. Electric fence takes care of about 98% of my problems.
  12. Pure gimmick. Throw it in with the Ozone crap.
  13. My corn is coming up, but my lawn is almost to the crunchy stage already. We could use a lot of rain.
  14. Might get more attention here?
  15. I need new arrows. I'm open to suggestions. I don't know how much time I'll have to hunt again this year as I will still be in school.

Moist Toilet Tissue e. Other (please specify _____________________) Do you have any additional comments on this type product? The older I get, the more I need a product like this. I would suggest you add an anti-bacterial component to it, and market scent free as much as possible. Scent free freaks would probably be more apt to buy it if it was billed as a scent eliminator.
  17. Rode the Oliver for close to an hour the other day and my food plot is almost ready to plant. I'm just flat out of time. Class last night, dinner tonight. Hopefully I'll plant on Saturday. I hope to get some other stuff in the garden too.
  18. There was a mad scramble around here last week, but that's the most action I've seen all season. We got a fair bit of rain Thursday/Friday. I got 1 plot of sweet corn and taters in the garden, but that's it so far.
  19. We found probably close to 200-300 this year, all blacks. Decent year.
  20. I'd love to add a fixed blade to my folding blade I won a few years ago Ross.
  21. Don't be afraid to go in and talk to the Financial aid people. In a lot of cases these scholarships are a lot like buying a car. I've heard of a lot of students going in and pitting other offers and sometimes the college of choice will match or beat another college. I was prepared to do that for Joe, but luckily his first choice was also the most money.
  22. Time for the big dog to get off the porch... $200 'Bout time we had another auction for a great cause.
  23. Having been through this one time with my oldest, and about to go through it again with my daughter, my advice is that the student has to strike a balance between being comfortable with the school, the program and the tuition. Of the 3, I always tell my students and my kids you have to be happy with the program. No sense in getting a degree where there likely won't be jobs available, or worse, a job where you're not happy. Luckily for my son the most money was also his favorite of all the visits he did, and he's pretty happy with his situation right now. Magic number for ACT in Ohio seems to be 30. There's a lot of money out there for 28's and 29's, but if you're at 30 or above a lot of colleges start talking full rides.
  24. Here too. Haven't been on for a few days, but huge blank area on the top of the page as it loads, have to scroll way down to get to the forum.
