  2. Re: Note to myself... [ QUOTE ] A woman and a man are involved in a car accident. Both of their cars are totally demolished but amazingly neither of them are hurt. After they crawl out of their cars, the woman says, "So you're a man, that's interesting. I'm a woman. Wow, just look at our cars! There's nothing left, but fortunately we are unhurt. This must be a sign from God that we should meet and be friends and live together in peace for the rest of our days." Flattered, the man replied, "Oh yes, I agree with you completely!" This must be a sign from God!" The woman continued, "And look at this, here's another miracle. My car is completely demolished but this bottle of wine didn't break. Surely God wants us to drink this wine and celebrate our good fortune." Then she hands the bottle to the man. The man nods his head in agreement, opens it and drinks half the bottle and then hands it back to the woman. The woman takes the bottle, immediately puts the cap back on, and hands it back to the man. The man asks, "Aren't you having any?" The woman replies, "No. I think I'll just wait for the police..." [/ QUOTE ] LOL!!! Good one! I get nervous when my sister is driving...I try not to but well....

We still have maybe 1.5 feet of snow on the ground, might be getting some more this weekend but suppose to get into the 30s today, heavy rain over night and 40 tomorrow. It is going to be flooding around our horse barn:-(

  6. What do you use to remove the old fletching? Is there something I can find around theh ome that will work well? old razor blade? Utility knife? Also, if I'm putting wraps on brand new, bar shaft arrows, I don't need to prep the arrows in any way? And if i'm putting wraps on arrows I removed fletching off of, I need to remove all the glue and such correct? Just wanted to check...
  7. Re: Picking a new bow.... I heard it was a very quiet bow! Haven't heard anything bad. Ask about it over on Archery Talk...that's where I heard it was a quiet bow.

    RT Forum is best

Re: RT Forum is best And no where else can you find more people willing to help each other, not too mention the genrosity is overwhelming:-) I haven't found any other forum yet...
  9. Re: My Buck knife Thanks Swampy! Yeah, I wasn't sure it would be covered under wrranty or not. I think I might email them and ask, before I send it off. See what they say....
  10. Re: My Buck knife [ QUOTE ] send it back to buck knives and they will replace the blade for free! [/ QUOTE ] Well I'll admit, my sister, don't know what possessed her, threw it down the basement stairs and that is how it broke. Will they still replace it?
  11. Re: My Buck knife [ QUOTE ] Was this the knife you originally had? [LINK] If so why not just get the same one? I like sticking with things I know I like and work good for what I use them for, unless you want to try something different this time around. If you want to try something different what are you looking for in the knife. A lot of people have preferences to what types of knives they like working with. Do you want one with a gut hook or without? One with a serrated blade or without? Blade length? Folding or fixed? We use only Buck and Kershaw knives in this family. I personally dislike serrated blades and gut hooks. I also like a folding blade that's 2" or longer. That's just my personal preference though. [/ QUOTE ] I liked my knife, but I think I want something with a little smaller grip, easier to hold especially when in the woods. Also I got this one with a serrated blade, but I think I'd like one not serrated...was always getting the serrations caught on wood/skin/bone etc...when I didn't want it. I know I want a folding/locking blade with about a blade at least 3" long. Lots of choices, lol

    Wraps

Re: Wraps I think they also help a little bit in actua;;y seeing the arrow, especially when you are hunting:-) And besides...they are COOl,lol.
  13. So around my 21st birthday (3 years ago), I bought myself a blue handled Buck Whittaker Approach folding knife. It's cleaned quiet a few small game animals and deer...held it's sharpness really nice. Well the blade broke today. I won't say how or why...I know, and I was very saddened to find it this way. all I know is some one is going to be replacing my Buck knife. I know...you may think just a knife and it is just a knife, but knives do hold some sentimental value...all the animals and fish I've cleaned with it. I thought maybe I could try sending it to Buck and they might replace the blade but maybe not, since the broken blade is not exactly "accidental". Basically a good 1/4 -1/2 inch off the tip of the blade broke off. Guess it's a good thing I got to clean my rabbit last night with it. Rest in Peace...lol So anyone have a Buck knife and if so, what wone is it? I'll be looking for a new one, probably at Gander Mountain if I get there next week. Was just looking on the website and like the looks of the Bantam for around $20-$30. I want something good for cleaning animals and outdoors tasks like camping/backpacking....that type of stuff...
  14. Re: They\'re at it again ... Yup, was paying like $2.22 here @ an Indian Reservation gas station....but it's gone up. at the local gas station in town by the college it's $2.49...but the guy who's owned it has always been a rip-off.

  18. Re: Look who I found hiding... Wow... that is very cool! I want to meet her some day! lol. She seems like a neat person!
  19. I'll tell you what, the Lord has been good to me lately, lol. Ok He always is, just more so lately, lol I was walking in from doing barn chores tonight, still light out, and my sister's dog barks. I was walking around to the back porch anyway to see if any rabbits were out and down at the bottom of our woods in an open spot in the swampy brushy area is a rabbit1 I think geesh he seems big for that far away I go inside, grab 5 shells and the 20 ga. Andy tells me the rabbit just ran part way up the hill. I hike down the hill in our horse pasture, enter the woods, andy yells he just ran up to the top of our hill. I walk up there and find the rabbit's tracks going into a brush pile. I climb unto the brush pile, stomp a few times, my gun ready, and the rabbit comes out! BOOM! I miss....rabbit still in good range..BOOM! the rabbit does a front flip roll in the snow then gets up and keeps going! BOOM! I get another shot off as he enters some brush and turns back down the hill. Well I find his tracks and follow them like 3 feet, stop and about 15 yards down the hill in front of me I see a rabbit lying stretched out in the snow, not dead. If you've ever seen like pet rabbits, if they are hot/tired, they'll stretch out and this is what he did. I put the sight on his head and BOOM! Rabbit down! I go get him and oh my goodness, the biggest darn Cottontail I've ever seen or gotten! No wonder he looked big about 100 yards away in our woods....he is big! So below is a photo...hopefully you can see he is pretty nice sized and in my opinion, big. Rabbits I've gotten before are usually maybe 1/4 smaller. Enjoy!

    Shampoo?

Re: Shampoo? Usually whatever is cheapest and smells decent...usually ends up being Sauve.
  23. in the mail...my arrow wraps! Ordered a dozen from a guy on AT and this is what they look like: Pretty cool eh? I think so. Can't wait for my new Bemans to come, along with Blazers and fletching jig. Will put 2 white and one blue Blazer on top of these wraps Next set of wraps I think I'll have yellow in them, see if I can turkey prints on them, lol, and maybe my initials...this stuff is fun. I got 4 extras with this set so I can "practice" putting them on..they'll probably go on my current Bemans which will become my practice arrows.
