  4. Re: A tad on the chilly side tonight..... Pretty cold down here, haven't looked at the thermometer but thw wind chill is bad.
  5. Re: Fletching jig... Well I finished my first arrow...didn't need to move the nock...I got it right the first time, lol. Turned out ok more or less...still fiddling with getting the vane to sit just right...not gonna worry about offset...that seems to come with getting the vane to sit but I think I have a slight right offset. I'll try another one maybe later..and I'll post a photo, lol.

  8. Re: Bow buck officially scored, disappointment ensues Great buck either way! Congrats. Sorry about not getting in P & Y though.
  9. Re: Fletching jig... My nock are adjustable...I have the Easton super nocks. I guess I'll have to play around with it and see when I get the Blazers...
  10. Re: I think God is speaking... Oh, I'm not going in it because of the money. I'm glad there is decent pay and more so than custodial or a part time outdoor ed. job, but I love medicine and want to do something with it and it seems like nursing would be the thing to do. Medicine runs in the genes here, lol. ( my mom was an lpn, our uncle was a surgeon, and my sister is finishing up to be a vet. tech.)
  11. Yesterday I was messing with my Grayling jig. Still waiting on the Blazers to come but figured I could try and understand it. I switched out the 3X 120 **** out ring for the 3X120 **** down ring since my **** vane is one blue vane and will be down because I use a prong rest. So when I begin fletching do I just fletch one vane as the **** and the other 2 will be the white vanes or is there a certain place or click I put on the **** vane or does it not matter since the vane placement is already determined by the jig? If any of this makes sense.... Also, when I have the offset or jig set so the vane sits well on the shaft and I tighten it down, I won't need to adjust it again for the other vanes?
  12. to me I think I am being led to what God wants me to do. I've been in a dilemma trying to figure out what to do as a career. I love outdoor ed. but employment is so seasonal here and not alot of availability. I love athletic training, but basically I'd have to find a 4 year entry level Master's program to do that, and I don't think I can handle all the hard work of that, nor can I afford it. I'm paying off a loan currently. And I don't want to be working custodial the rest of my life, lol. Well I've been praying and it seems to me God is telling me to get into a RN program. I love medicine and I could afford a 2 year RN program and become a nurse. There's so many opporunities with nursing also. I could be a health director at a camp or work in a hospital or who knows where else. There's alot of jobs out there with a RN backround. It sems like I may have finally found something I can afford and would enjoy doing, and the pay is decent to - $30,000-$60,000 a year for new grads. and I believe $60,000 is what athletic trainers get with a Masters. So keep me in your thoughts and prayers and I hope things work out. I'm searching a couple local colleges I could commute to. We'll see what happens By the way isn't there a few on here who are nurses or have wives that or nurses?
  13. Re: Hey ladies! Wow, that is awesome Tn! Congrats! Sounds like your pup is in for an exciting future.
  14. Re: Ok ladies...a question for you Thanks girls:-) Yeah, I'm switching between a bunch of stuff. Haven't really tried toothpaste, like once, so I'll try that more. Ahh the many uses of tooth paste, not just for teeth any more, lol.
  15. Re: Thunderhead and Wac\'em....?!?!?!? Haven't had any problems with Thunderheads. Have shot 125 grain but am switching to 100 grain - 3 blade fixed. I have not lost an archery deer yet that was hit with a Thunderhead, and they'll go through bone. I like em and they do the job!
  16. Re: wraps and fleching question I'll get a photo of the few practice arrows I just put some practice wraps on. The wraps are white fading to blue with black deer prints spiraling around the wrap and a deer skill at one end.
  17. Re: Depressed That sucks! Nick lives in Michigan and I guess he didn't get drawn either. I'm glad in NY we can just go and buy our permits...although the turkeys on the land I hunt are like gone and I'm gonna have to hunt elsewhere.
  18. Re: Anyone for DH 2005 Ok, that's good to know. I'll download the map tomorrow since it take forever, and then double click it. So I won't "break" anything deleting the patch and map editor file after they are double clicked and installed?
  19. Re: new Bowtechs I've been hearing alot of good things about Bowtech. Heard the Equalizer was nice.
  20. Re: Anyone for DH 2005 Hey Moon, I forgot you knew all this stuff. When I downloaded the patch, I saved it under the deer hunter 2005 in the atari folder under program files on the c drive. Is this all right? And when I got it downloaded, I clicked on it to finish its installation which it said it did.
  21. Re: Quiver, VHS/DVDs and misc. FS/Trade Fleece string silencers sold:-)
  22. Re: Quiver, VHS/DVDs and misc. FS/Trade ttt...
  23. Re: Anyone for DH 2005 [ QUOTE ] I just reformated my PC the other day and haven't even downloaded it yet, along with the patch and extra maps, etc. Need to do that soon. [/ QUOTE ] Hey Buckee, when you download the map level editor thing, in order to download the maps, where do you save it? Just under Deer Hunter 2005? That's where I saved the patch under, wasn't sure about the level editor thing.
  24. Re: sad find Wow, what a shame! I'd love to see a moose in the wild, they are majestic! Glad you spotted it though and got to keep the rack at least, a real treasure. Indeed sad though.
