Re: Slip-N-Slide Spring?? Looks more like summer there! lol We are just barely starting spring in NY!
  2. Re: awesome day!! Wow, that top one is a dream! congrats!!
  3. Re: 1 month away Trout opens April 1 here. I want to go with a fly pole to and it would be my first opener with a fly rod in hand....of course the trend is to have rainy cold weather on the opener, lol
  4. Re: Found Dead Deer Today 10 Pt Glad to hear you had some finds but geesh, that is a real shame...what a buck!

    Bow Ideas?

Re: Bow Ideas? I'm hearing lots of good about Bowtech lately....their giving Hoyt and Matthews competition, lol.
  6. Re: got my first one!! Nice set, congrats! Ya look a little sun/wind burned there, lol.
  7. Re: My First Call Nice call and nice way to remember your dad.
  8. Re: Ok ladies...a question for you Well just so you all know, lol, its almost healed up and gone. Mom got this chickweed ointment from the local Amish store. I put it on and it drew stuff to the top and finally it..well...you know...got rid of what was in it. Turns out probably an ingrown hair type of thing. Whew...
  9. Re: Gardening...? Yup, that's what I do Tominator:-) I make a trench...pour fertilizer along the bottom, set the potatoes in, cover them up and as they grow, rake some soil around them. I love digging them in the fall...it's like finding gold, lol
  10. Hey sureshot, does a half chewed up shed count? Please say yes, lol. I went out today looking for sheds, found one or shall I say part of one on top of the snow. I think it was maybe last years. Really chewed up by the tree rats and a shame really because it has some decent mass to it. I'll put a photo up tomorrow. Basically jusr a section of the main beam left and part of a tine...
  11. Re: Found a shed thanks to my trail cam, PICS Congrats! that's not something you'd have the chance to capature all the time. Very cool!
  12. Re: My \"re-vamped\" bow Well the string loop is maybe 1/4" longer than the metal ultra-nok I had on which maybe why it something feels slightly longer to me. String didn't feel any shorter...I think bucknasty pre stretches or what not with his strings.

    It's RAINING

Re: It\'s RAINING Heard metal roofs are the way to go..although on tv they showed a house that caught fire and they had to get cutters to cut through the metal roof...couldn't just hack into it. Sunny and dry here...minus the snow on the ground.
  14. Re: found a couple Nice finds buddy! You've got a lot less snow then here, but with the thaw I'm gonna go out later and look around..figure if I stick to heavy trails and follow them, maybe I'll find something, but our sheds don't get as big as yours, lol. Hope you find the double drop tine, I want to see that!
  15. Re: Gardening...? And cheaper and healthier than buying it from a store. Don't know if any of you knew about the stuff a few vegtables got last summer? There was a virus thing that killed off the cucumbers....ours got it, they all died like in July and it wasn't from no water. Then there was a pumpkin thing that broke out....few of mine got it near the end of the growing season - those rotted like from the inside out...weird....
  16. Re: I\'m getting close.... Your the director of nursing? Cool! I've just decided that I think I want to go back to school in the fall for a 2 yr. program and get an RN degree. I love medicine, and while athletic training I love them ost, can't afford to go somewhere for that for 4 years. And with a B.S. in outdoor rec. already, I think a nursing degree can only compliment it. And there's more jobs out there in the area.
  17. I told you all a while back about my phone interview with the NYS DEC for applying for a position at their camp down here where I did my internship. The guy I talked to, head of the DEC Camps, said they wouldn't put out job offers until March/April after they release their budget. Well I'm still waiting to hear and was skeptical because if all the staff from last year returned, no luck for me, but one of the girls I found out is doing an internship in Alaska, which means a counselor position is open! Now I've got to wait and see if they give it to me. He was impressed with my internship performance, and glad to hear I can tie flies because no one elase at the camp really knows much about it. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed and saying my prayers, lol. Thought Id keep you all updated. If that doesn't work out, I'll try at a local state park, or it'll be custodial again. Either way I've got to have a job to make some money so I can get into a nursing program.
  18. How we doing? Still a bit of snow on the ground here in NY, but we are having a nice thaw. I think I'm going for a hike today to look for sheds. Doubt I'll find one because of the snow but you never know! Enough may have melted I can find some tines poking out or something...although snow in the woods melts alot slower then in a field...I know Hoytguy08 found one....anyone else?

    She's 5!

Re: She\'s 5! Cute kid! Happy birthday Aspen!
  20. to 5000 posts that is! Of course I won't be beating Andrea, lol. but it does mean I'll have made 1000 posts in under a year, lol.
  21. Re: Gardening...? [ QUOTE ] This year we plan to grow tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, green onions and squash. I never have any luck with sunflowers but I want to try them again this year. Ever grow those?? [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, the seeds fall off our bird feeders and grow, lol. they seem to like sem-shady, most spots here. We have deliberately grown them before but we don't bother because they grow themselves. Try watering them with some flower food stuff. they get that when mom waters the rest of her flowers....and they get some horse manure thrown in.
  22. Re: 1st BIRD OF THE SEASON!!!!!! You should be penalized, lol! Or given a handicap like turkey hunting with a neon pink shirt on, lmbo
  23. Re: My \"re-vamped\" bow I'm glad to hear some think my form is alright. Everyone on AT says my DL is too long and blah blah blah. Maybe it is a little but it works for me. I do need to get a new wrist strap because this one is stretched out and slips down my wrist. I'm going totry to shoot today or tomorrow at one of our round bales and get a better idea of how the arrows fly and just get some practice in,lol.

    pack stuff

Re: pack stuff First Aid kit....you never know what is going to happen. Shapr knife....if it's cold weather, extra gloves, hat, socks...or some of those hand warmers you can crinkle up and they get toasty warm, Cell phone... rain gear in case it rains...and basically everyone else has covered it. Maybe a small portable knife sharpener if your knife gets dull cleaning out a hog.
  25. Re: ***D-man roadtrip may happen...lol...****** Take along stuff for the kids to do...coloring books....small game to play...lots of snacks....and I'll be praying for you, lol. Sounds like it will be fun!
