  1. Well I tied my first loop Monday evening..yesterday I shot it and got it stretched out then last night I shortened up a little more. I also tied ony some nock points Monday evening also and got rid of the brass nock. Here's a couple photos: I did some paper tuning yesterday, kept getting high tears. So I lowered the nock pint a little bit, still high tears, moved the rest prongs up a little bit and improved on the tears. I wanted to shoot at paper again today but it's pouring rain. Guess I'll go look for sheds instead So let me know what you think. Also how do you determine proper nock point with like a bow square? Andy has one and always does it for me, I wanna do it myself. I know it probably isn't too much of a concern being my arrows seem to be flying straight and such, but I'd like to know if my nock point is above or below in relation to the rest? And just so I'm absolutely clear, the bottom nock point I have tied on, that marks the actual nock point on the string right?
  2. Re: Here You Go AdvantageTimberLou! Almost Done! Wow, nice looking arrows! I'm still working on getting the Blazers on mine fletched well....had some pop off yesterday, probably because the arrows went all the way into a round hay bale. I've got some new wraps coming that I can't wait to show off....
  3. Re: Wanted to share.... I need a trail cam first but that was my thought...I might climb up in of the the big old oaks in the edge of the woods some evening and wait and see if she comes out again....

  11. I was truly blessed this evening to see what I saw...something unique. I had gone for a hike looking for sheds, no luck, and when I came out into a field, there was a doe out eating. Well I snuck down the woods a little bit and sat down to watch, hoping for a good picture. I had my small binocs. to watch also. Well another doe came out...then a while later several came out, one being closer then the others. I looked at her through the binocs. and thought I saw white on her face but then though nah, only the sunset reflecting. I look again and for sure she has a white stripe on her face above her nose!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so amazed, what a rare sight! I took a photo, it doesn't show but below are a few photos I took tonight and in the first one, the closest doe is the one with the white stripe. By the way, the woods in the background across the field are our woods...only about 14 acres total.
  12. Re: Quick! Someone knock on my Window! LMBO! Loved reading your post! that's great though....sounds like you're on your way to having a hunting buddy!
  13. Re: Not definite but promising Thanks everyone! Hoyt 03 - my degree is in Rec & Leisure - concentration in Outdoor Ed.Camp Admin. that's the long way, basically it's outdoor rec/ed,lol. Not really much in the full time opportunities around here...mostly camps and summer employment at parks. Any thing close to full time is alot of volunteer stuff like working at environmental centers and such.
  14. Re: Quick Prayer Please Will do! Hope everything turns out alright!
  15. Re: Found dead coyote Oh, I'm positive it's a coyote...fur type...skull structure...hind legs still there... In my cons. bio class I took at college, we were shown a photo of a coyote chasing a fox done in the winter....if they are really hungry, I wouldn't put it past them to turn on each other...but I would say he probably was old and sick and died...we'eve had some bad weather the last month. Thing is, it wasn't there 2 weeks ago, so it happened within the last 2 weeks.
  16. Re: Bucks don\'t shed antlers I know how ya feel! I've been through alot of decent looking areas with tons of sign...all I managed was a chewed up main beam yesterday probably last year's. But we still have alot of snow on the ground that is melting so there's hope still...hang in...you'll find one!
  17. Re: Loops and nock points Ok. Loop seems really tight on...could probably get away without nock points, but since the brass nock is on there, I'm thinking I need to put a nock point on so I don't loose the nock set, or move the loop up to that pint...
  18. Does anyone have any good tips on tying nock points inside a string loop? I got a string loop installed and the shop put on a brass nock for under the arrow, I want to remove that and tie in a nock point (I've got the thread) Should I mark where the brass nock is as I'm assuming that is marking the nock height/point? Should I tie a point in above the arrow also? My string loop is tied on really well which I guess is a good thing. Anyone have any pictures maybe? Oh, and I need to adjust my peep up a little so I'll have to undo the serve around that, but what is a good way for tying in the peep? I have one with the tubing but may switch to tubeless over time. Thanks guys!
  19. Re: I\'m getting close.... I made it! Woohoo, lol. Thanks for the encouragement through like the last 10 posts, lol. Ahh...now just 5000 more to go,lol
  20. Re: And the winners are..... Congrats guys, great job!
  21. While out looking for sheds yesterday, I was on the edge of an old apple orchard in this swamp, look down off this small ridge and see fur and bone. Go down to find the skull and part of the vertebrae of a coyote...then a few feet away more fur and the rest off the back bone with hind legs still attached. I don't think he was shot, no foot prints around... kinda weird but I'm guessing either the ;;ast couple weeks of cold weather and the fact that with 2 feet of hard crusted snow, he couldn't get anything and starved, or the pack turned on him because they were really hungy? Or he was just sick and died? I found fox tracks that came right up to our manure/compost pile, took some stuff and dragged it back to the woods. Our compost pile is only like 75-100 yards from the house. Any ideas why you think he died? I know we hear a pack howl up there in the summer and fall...
  22. Re: awesome day!! I forgot, your on my team, lol, even better! I can't believe how big that one shed is....
  23. Re: 07\' sheds so far Nice sheds, congrats! I'm hoping to find some more this week when the snow melts. Good job!
