Re: TURKEY TEAM #7 I'm hoping to get out this coming week to the state land I want to check out, do a little brook trout fishing there and look for turkeys...just not sure where to start on a large piece of state land

Re: I need a little help from the ladies My mom made a couple scrunchies once...they aren't hard really. You basically, I think, cut a long piece of material, stitch it so it becomes a tube, put some elastic in the tube, bunch it up and stitch it closed...I think, lol

Re: THANK YOU REALTREE!!! Very neat!

Re: New hunting gear Blue and black Bucknasty strings/cables....a mini S coil stabilizer....string loop....new arrows and putting wraps and blazers on them....and possibly a new sight, then I think I'll be set for the next few years!

So what do you ladies like to have for lunch? I pretty much take leftovers from dinner, if there are any left, and put them in a mini-fridge at work in the custodial office. I'm not much a fan of soup or stew though...And occasionally I'll but lunch at the college's little snack shop/restaurant thingy.

Re: Rest?? I use a NAP Quicktune 1000...fair price, does the job..haven't had any problems.

Re: DANG GAS! I just heard on the radio the prices are "suppose" to drop mid April....I'll believe it when I see it.

Re: contest entry and rules! These first 3 were found 3/26/2007: This one found today, 3/27/2007: That's 4 total in this entry.

Ok, here's as they lay photos of the 4 sheds I've found between today and yesterday. First three are from state land on Monday, last 1 is today's find on college property. Enjoy! Chewed up side on a trail: Fresh palmated spike (check contest entry thread to see palmation better): Really old, chewed up shed: A 3 point side, fresh and unmarked, from college woods: The tines really glistened white in the sun when I first spotted it

I've gone shed hunting 3 days in a row now...and today makes the third day I've come home with a prize. I've been at the college all day...done working at 3pm so I went for a hike on college property. Maybe half hour into the hike, I'm stopped on top of a ridge that's a bedding area. I'm looking like 5 minutes, then I look to my right and right there, sun beaming on white tips, is a fresh 3 point side!!! Pinch me, I'm dreaming I've got pics and will post them tonight or tomorrow. I'm going to see someone's sr. seminar tonight and get trash from offices before I go home, so the day isn't over yet but I wanted to share! i'm pumped!

Re: The New Bow Congrats, great looking set-up! How do youl ike the TruGlo sight? I'm thinking about getting the same one as yours...I think:)

So I took a drive over to the small piece of state land about 15 minutes away...same piece I got the grouse on. Has a pine plantation that the deer like to bed in and random apple orchards....lots of good sign. In the 1 hour and 45 minutes I was there, I found 3...yes that's THREE sheds. First one is a chewed one that looks like maybe from last year, 2nd one, I thought was a deer bone from distance, turned out to be a fresh, un-chewed palmated spike! The third one is even older than the first, chewed a bit, but still a shed I love the palmated spike one I found, really neat! I'll try to get the photos up tonight if I've got time, didn't last night. That's 5 sheds on the year I've got, and we aren't even out of March! I might break my highest shedfind this year since the most I've found was I think 7 in a year.

Re: How should I set my pins? I have mine set at 10-20-30. In my 5 years of bowhunting...most of my shots within 20 yards...mostly around 10. I had one 20 yards shot on a doe and got her. Had a 30 yard shot this past season but some trees suddenly stuck their branches in the way:-\

Went for a hike today...with decent weather finally here. Walked for about an hour and found this spike: Didn't find any other sheds, but I'm happy! First fresh shed of the year This is the 3rd spike antler in my shed collection. Had a few chews (darn squirrels).

Re: Best for the year so far! Wow, awesome shed! Congrats!

Yesterday at lunch time at work, had lunch with a couple girls I know from classes who graduate this year. Saw a prof. who I had for a couple rec. classes. She teaches backpacking and they had a day trip today and she asked me to come! So I spent most of the day today out hiking on some trails with the backpacking class, of which one of the girl's who is a sr. and a good friend is in, so it was a blast! Saw a gobbler in a field on the drive over to the state land we were hiking....I think he was getting ready to practice strutting, believe it or not. Found some gobbler poop on a trail on the state land. Saw a grouse...got some photos...and overall had a great in in God's outdoors! I'll post some photos later on or tomorrow. My shoulder held up alright though on the van ride back to the college, it was aching and didn't like the jostling of the ride. What a nice day...like being back in school again, lol. A nice group of students she has for her class....one boy I talked to just started bowhunting last year so that was cool. Anyway thought I'd share, I'll get some photos up soon enough. And thankfully we missed the rain until driving back to the college.

Re: Got it fixed.... Thanks guys...I'm thinking maybe nursing is the way to go right now...make some money and maybe later go on for a Master's in Athletic Training...Lord willing of course. I'll be praying on it.

Well my mom thought I should go to the chiropractor about my shoulder. She thinks he's really good, she and my sister go to him, mostly my sis from her car accident. Told my boss, he said the college wouldn't pay for it unless I got a referral from a physician. Well I'm changing insurances and the guy I was going to have for a Dr. I heard is not such a great Dr. My mom said we'll just pay for it. so went to the chiropractor. Pretty much the athletic trainer was right. He did some tests and such. I basically have a sprained shoulder with slight tear in the bicept tendon. The pop Weds. night was from the bicep tendon being out of the bicipital groove and I somehow got it back in, hencse the pop. So he put my shoulder back in the joint...guess it was a slight anterior subluxation. Ice for a few days...then heat...do some arm circle exercise stuff. I can't wait to tell the trainer she was right, lol. (she was my prof. for my athletic training minor...great person). Now I have my doubts about nursing because the more I think of it, nursing doesn't get into the muscle/joint stuff as much as like athletic training does and this is what I really love to learn about. I was talking with my mom about it...nursing might be a great job but will I be happy? I just seem to keep turning back to athletic training...all these delays stop me and keep me thinking about AT...so maybe God is tryign to lead me that way...money is just the conflict. I am going to look into a Bachelor's ata college 1.5 hours away, a state school that's like $5000 a year, not including room/board. Find some scholarships and do them and see if I can maybe make it by the skin of my teeth and get into an AT program. I want to be doing something by next fall..I just don't know what my problem is about making a decision

Re: gonna regret!! At least you have something fall back on in times of money need. Had to be hard to do. I don't have a ton of sheds but don't know how I could sell any! Each as it's own story of how it was found and each is a piece of art.
