  1. Re: Darn it all! Yeah, I had a mouth call to but i'm not going to pay shipping just for that thing! I emailed them back to see if they'd just cancel it completely...
  2. Re: Darn it all! yeah, just not alot of what i'm looking for - strap style..padded back...good seat. i'm thinking either the H.S. SUV vest or Beard Buster by Cabela's.
  3. Re: Darn it all! Ok, so Cabela's Beard Buster is about $20 more...There's also the H.S. SUV vest for $50 - anyone know if that has a padded back? One or two Cabela's vests for like $40....Any thoughts?
  4. So I ordered a Beard Buster Vest for $35 on sale from wing Supply...along with a new mouth call. Got an email that they no longer have the vest, will ship the call. Least they could do is replace it with something similar....grr...Oh well. I'm thinking I'll splurge and spend the extra $5 for Cabela's Beard Buster vest...has nicer padding anyway. But gee that annoys me. Ok, I'm done venting. If anyone else knows of any websites with cheap/on sale strap turkey vests, let me know.
  5. Re: Cabela\'s Silent Weave... Anyone at all???
  6. Re: Used Deer Contest prize. Nice! congrats again!
  7. Re: TURKEY TEAM #7 Good luck everyone! Wish I was a youth...then I could hunt a little earlier....Haven't been out much to look around for the turkeys. Weather turning very cold and ugly for the rest of the week and custodial wants me to work next week so who knows when I'll get out to scout...I'll find the time though.
  8. Re: Turkey vest, call, fanny pack, misc. FOR SALE Vest, Quaker Boy Call, Both VHS (and DVD), and release SOLD! What's left: Book Fanny Pack Hawk Call Arrow rest
  9. Anyone have any hunting clothing in the Silent Weave material from Cabela's? I'm planning on ordering a hunting jacket in the silent weave and was wondering, will it shrink at all if it gets washed? I'm ordering a men's small which I'm know will fit fine, though if it shrunk at all if washed, I might not have room for a layer or two underneath. (it's the chest area that's of a concern if the jacket shrunk,lol... you guys don't have to worry about stuff like that)
  10. Re: TV programs... Hmm...I think it could be Kerry in the car...or remember the guy Matt's mom was dating who left? hmm...too many possibilties, lol.
  11. Re: Need help with trout Andy was killing them on egg sacks this weekend....try some worms also....
  12. I'm going fly fishing later. Andy has been catching a bunch of nice rainbows from an inlet in the lake - they let the lake down each year and at the one end when it goes down is a small waterfall that the trout run up to. He's been catching them on eggsacks but their stomachs show they've been eating just about everything in sight - twigs, pebbles, aquatic worms and insects..What should I try regarding wet or dry flies, or nymphs? I've got a bunch of different flies tied. I figure maybe a gold ribber hare's ear nymph might work but any suggestions?
  13. Re: Sight pin size... Ok, sweet, lol. It wa actually a sight on AT that got traded, but i think I'm going to go for the Extreme. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Well never mind about the sight...it got traded..after I was interested first..grr...but I'd still like to hear thoughts on the pin sizes... [/ QUOTE ] i dont think that im going to trade so you can have it. BTW it is a great site. i have .029 pins and like them because they can handle being hit by branchs and such without moving or breaking. if i were to shoot more paper and 3D then i would move to the .019 pins. [/ QUOTE ]
  14. Re: Turkey pics from this morning. Wow, what a beautiful colored head that tom has!!
  15. Re: TV programs... [ QUOTE ] Fear Factor, WildFire, Campbell's Outdoor Challenge, Closing the Distance, and pretty much any hunting show! [/ QUOTE ] Ditto on Wildfire!! Gotta wait till next year though with the season over
  16. Re: TV programs... Pretty much what I do also M00N
  17. Re: Here goes nothing... I haven't tried bow yet...minus a few years back trying to stalk them while deer hunting (bow season and turkey overlap). Decoys will be good - give the toms something to look at and be distracted by. Good luck and go for it!
  18. Re: Turkey vest, call, fanny pack, misc. FOR SALE How about $8 for the Q.B. call..TYD!
  19. Re: Sight pin size... Well never mind about the sight...it got traded..after I was interested first..grr...but I'd still like to hear thoughts on the pin sizes...
  20. What size pins do you have on your sights for bowhunting? My TruGlo has .029 size...I hear alot use .019 size. I may have found a sight I want and could trade for that has first pin in .029 and the rest are .019. Do .019 pins show up well? Pros or cons of the 2 sizes? Only thing I would be concerned about would be because I shoot right handed and my right eye is the one I injured when I was 8 and have to wear a contact in, so I have almost as good vision but not quite. I can see .029 pins fines...just wondering how .019 pins do when deer hunting?
  21. Re: TURKEY TEAM #7 Well I know for sure the group of hens and 1 gobbler from last spring made it through, saw tracks and poop on the land...and I was thinking they were gone for good. Now I just need to scout them out and scout some state land.
  22. Re: Hunting clothes..? I ordered a pait of camo pants from Wing Supply last year in a men's size and no problem, and my rain coat from Cabela's.
  23. When you purchase hunting clothing, do you buy men's or women's clothes? I personally just get my clothing in men's because it is cheaper than women's specific hunting clothes. I'm planning on getting a Cabela's Silent Weave insulated bowhunter jacket and according to their chart, I'd be a small, which is what I got when I got one of their rain jackets. I was wondering if any of you ladies had experience in knowing whether I'd have aneough room for a littlel ayering if need be underneath the jacket? If I got a size medium, it'd be about 2-3 inches larger on all the measurements which means I'd likely be swallowed by the jacket, lol
  24. Re: Turkey vests By the way, I ordered a small/medium because my other vest I'm selling was a bit too big. A small/medium should be ok and I should have some room with a jacket underneath ?
  25. Re: Turkey vests Well I ended up ordering a Beard Buster by Tarantula from Wing supply...on sale.:-)
