  1. I placed my order April 5...last thursday. They said on the website the jacket was on backorder for several weeks (6-7) and the H.S. vest like 1 week. Vest was due in like this past weekend, jacket not till May. I haven't heard anything else from them other than the confirmation of order email and they'll tell me when they ship. Are they going to hold my vest until the jacket comes in or will they ship the vest before the jacket? I really need the vest by May 1,lol, Jacket would be nice by then but oh well... Anyone know how Cabela's will ship with backordered items?

  4. Re: TURKEY TEAM #7 That's great news Nick! Woohoo! I've got to stard scouting hard with just under 3 weeks left. weather is rainy and snowy and not the nicest but today is nice outside so I'm going to try to scout the woods around home for the one and only gobbler with his hens.

  6. Re: I got an invite Well I'm going to try and get out to the woods this afternoon after work, weather is alright. See if I can find that lone ol' gobbler and his hens. guess i'll have to buckle down on scouting before the end of april!
  7. One of my professors from college (for backpacking and initiativesclasses) just emailed me...inviting me to come along when they go on their overnight backpacking trip for backpacking class the last weekend in April (27-28th).! Remember couple weeks back she asked me to come along on their day trip? Well she emailed me today asking me to come along! Woohoo, I can't wait, even though it is the last weekend that I could use for scouting, it's only from like Friday afternoon and get back Saturday evening. I think we are going down to Pa just wanted to share! I'll try and get some pics up fromthe day trip a few weeks ago!

  10. My hopes of turkey scouting this weekend and/or shed hunting is going down the drain. Weather forcasted to be nice on Friday and ok this weekend....now we have a front coming in and suppose to get 4" of snow tonight and be rainy and yucky rest of the week, with temps. no higher than 40/45 degrees if that. Should I still try scouting some state land this weekend or wait it out? Next weekend is the youth weekend, not sure how turkeys will be after that.....then it's just 2 weeks from this coming Tuesday till the opener. I feel like i'm running out of time!
  11. Re: A lifelong goal almost in my grasp! Good luck Kyle!!!!

  14. Re: What size hunting clothes? Depending on brand and type of clothing..I'm usually a small or medium...
  15. Wondering what size hunting clothes you all wear? I thought it'd be interesting to see if there is an average size among the ladies...
  16. And I'm not talking fish and meat either. I'm talking like plants. For instance Wild Onions or Leeks can be eaten ,raw or cooked, but are best when they are very young, just popping out of the ground. Once they get mature with their big green leaves, they are alot stronger tasting. We like to put the young shoots in a pan with butter, yum. Well not yum right now because I had some Friday and that's when my flu started so theysound kinda yucky to me,lol Anyone else have some tasty edible plant tidbits to share? I know there's alot out there...I have some books with wild edible plants in it and what you can use them for.
  17. Re: Your favorite \"Spring Thing\" Sounds like NY huntinginmaine.... I do like longer day light hours but I go with wildflowers. I love to walk through the woods and find them and identify them and there are a few that are usually the first of the spring flowers to come up...just can't think of their names.
  18. what's your favorite thing about Spring time?
  19. Re: its an almost It's all about patience and not giving up. You were out there and at least you had a beard to work. I haven't had that opportunity in 3 years, so when I do find a bird again, i'm going to be flipping out, lol. Good luck!
