Re: New year....New semester Well I was an athletic training major but they couldn't get the program accredited so they decided to not have the major so I'm a recreation major with hopes of finishing at this college and then getting into an athletic training program somewhere:-) Nah, I think I'll keep my schedule. Sorry Linda, your courses just aren't for me,lol

Yup, January 10th is the first day of classes of the spring semester at college. Ihave 3 days fo work this week then I am taking from Thursday-Sunday off(well I get the weekend off anyway). The classes I am taking this semester are: Recognition + Evaluation of Athletic Injuries (should be a great class, good stuff and my fav. prof!) Physiology of Exercise and a Phys. of Ex. Lab (Should be good, interesting at least) Principles of Church Recreation(another great professor) Outdoor Leadership Training and an OLT Lab (should be interesting, lol) Intro. to Psychology(not so sure about, heard the prof. is tough) So anyone ever have any classes like these? I really like the professor for Rec + Eval. She is one of the athletic trainers so we know each other already. Funny thing is everyone hates her because she is tough but I love having her as a prof because her classes are a piece of cake for me just because I enjoy her and I come to every class on time, lol! Any other college people got their courses selected?

Re: This stinks Well I went out yesterday. Found no game to shoot and definitely did not find the buck. I did find two doe skulls in a small patch of woods that are probable from last year and before then. This buck, if he was hit fatally, could be anywhere in the vicinity. I plan on searching different sections of the woods when I go out each time, maybe I'll find that spike I hit with shotgun and couldn't find and I'd also like to find that deer I hit during archery that I lost the blood trail on but who knows, one of these three deer may still be alive hopefully.

Re: A little insight... Thanks guys! I really appreciate your replies and it is an awesome thing to know people I can rely on for advice, even if I only know them through the internet.

Re: Prayers plesae Oh KC, I'm so sorry to hear of the tragedy. Yes, please quit drinking for your sake and the sake of others, the end result of not drinking is much better than the end result of drinking and living a short term high. I will be sure to keep you and your friends in my prayers. My parents are strict also(well mainly my mom as I have never known my real dad, just Andy) but I have begin to learn that parents are strict for a reason. They are protecting us from more harmful things and maybe situations they have experienced. Our parents have more life experience than we do. God has plans for you girl, take care of yourself.

food besides wild game? We hunt and therefore eat a lot of what we harvest but what is your favorite food not having to do with hunting wildgame? For me it is Seafood-almost any Seafood but lobster is a plus

Re: Shed Antler contest idea I hope we can get this thing going, it would be fun. So far it sounds like having teams would work the best. Maybe take the Canadian entrants and split them equally with the U.S. entrants..... By the way nice sheds BC! I actually my first moose shed the other day, it was sitting in a biology lab room, lol, from when a class spent a semester in Alaska I believe. It was cool!

Ok I just thought I'd post this to see what kind of answers I would get. You all remember how I use to be friends with that girl until early last summer when I saw what a jerk she became. Anyway this past week like every single night I have had a dream with her in it. Uusually they somehow deal with what happened between her and me and my family but it has driven me nuts(well not really). I off and on do wonder how she is and think about emailing her or telling her brother on IM so say hi to her but I figure what use will it do...Mom said my dreams are because I haven't worked it out/gotten over it; it hasn't even been a year. The thing is as a Christian, we are suppose to forgive and I do not think I have really done that. I pray for that girl, hoping that Christ will open her heart one day and she will realize what she really did and the psychologicla help she needs. Anyway since I know they are alot of wonderful people on here who will listen, I just wanted to vent and see what you all thought. Sometimes it is easier to type on here what I feel than to explain to mom And no, I am not obsessing over this, I just found it interesting and annoying, lol.

Re: Need help with mounting a rack Thanks guys! Yes, I am just mounting the antlers(attached to the skull). I just don't get what the heck the foam is for as they said trim it to fit but they don't say where it goes; maybe the directions are just messed up....

Ok you might remember me mentioning the big buck that Andy saw during shotgun season and he couldn't get it to run my way then we saw another big buck, not quite as big, that also escaped. Well yesterday Andy stopped to talk to some people who live down the road from us and I guess they shot and hit the BIG buck but couldn't find him and then shot at the smaller big buck and grazed him. There was blood from the BIG buck and they tracked him up a creek but no luck and I guess someone else kicked him off some other property. Anyway this is bad news because this buck may be dead somewhere The other bad news is the day they were shooting at this buck, I was in a clim, ber and saw them drive up in and I would have more than likely had a shot at this buck had I been in my other stand as later that day I walked down the field and saw a blood trail in the woods that went towards my stand with people footprints! Anyway I am going to try searching the woods for this buck. Today I'm going out rabbit/squirrel/grouse hunting and will look in a swampy area where I think he was headed. It would be great to at least get his rack but it is worse that this buck may possibly not be roaming the woods anymore I wish people would quit shooting at deer that are running flat out across fields By the way if any of you have any tips for looking for dead deer besides looking along creeks, let me know.

Ok, I have one of those Game Tracker Plaque mounting kits for my rack from this year's archery buck. The directions really suck and they don't give any photos really. Can anyone give me some help/tips on how to mount the rack on? I have a plaque, 2 metal plates and screws, a plastic thing to cover the skull, and foam of which the directions mention trimming the fowm to fit but what is the foam for and what does it do? Let's just say I'm not getting one of these kits again for lack of directions, lol. Also I have yet to get the hair and skin off my skull, do any of you have any tips to make it easier as I normally end up having to carve the dried skin and hair off and even after being bleached it still stinks somewhat I would really really really appreciate any help! Thanks!

Last night my mom and I went to one of the three Walmarts that we typically use. This one we do not go to as much as the other two because we forget about it,lol, but they had a ton of hunting stuff left on clearance! Mom got me a new camo jacket for my b-day in February. It is a Woolrich insulated, reversible, and waterproof with snap on hood for $35 (originally $44.95). She also got me a camo backpack for $15(originally $24.82) which will be a good spare. I got myself a water purification bottle for $13(originally $15 and I saw it for $19 in a backpacking catalog). They also had some Gerber and Buck knives on sale but I just got myself a new Buck knive, and I got Andy's b-day present also.($5 clearance).Oh yes, the backpack and jacket are in Realtree Hardwoods

Vang Vs. the State of Wisconsin: Any Comments?
Turkeygirl replied to waterfowler_gal's topic in Politics
Re: Vang Vs. the State of Wisconsin: Any Comments? When I heard that he said theh unters shot at hom, my first though was "What a liar!" Duh, he was trespassing on land, hunting from somebody else's stand. Sounds like he was planning to kill something or someone. -
Re: Snow Removal We have a snow blade for our rider mower. Might want to look into that if you have a mower.

Re: New Stealth Cam Pics Can't feed the deer in NY because of "preventing CWD". Hey if it is gonna come, it will come!

Re: Got the rest of my grades... I didn't say anything was wrong with C's,lmbo:o) I ummmm....it isn't my favorite letter of the alphabet, lol!

WEll I met my goal, no "C's" this semester! I got "A", "A", "B+", "B+", and "B" which gives me a semester gpa of 3.46, I was so close to a 3.5 which would have put me on Dean's List which is slightly disappointing but not by too much. Next semester....

Re: Guess who i met at Walmart? Oh wow! Thanks for coming in Ralph and Vicki, this is awesome! Happy New Year and Happy New Year of hunting to you both! (You go Vicki:o)

Re: Mountain lion found in Otsego County , NY My sisterh eard that the DEC released some mountain lions to help thin the coyote/fox population. I had to think to myself "If mountain lions are out to kill coyotes, they are going to destroy the deer population also. Sometimes it seems like the DEC acts without thinking, lol

Re: Shed Antler contest idea The team thing sounds like a good idea. Randomly draw people into equal numbered teams and come up with some type of point system. Maybe have the team/point system count and then a separate individual category for the best "as it lays" photo or something. There are some good ideas here. Kansan-I'll keep my mind churning:o)
