Re: I am so mad....this is unreal LOL, you guys are horrible My mom told me don't take it personally so i'm not, I'm only taking it personally as a hunter, lol. I have a hunch it might be thr stupid neighbor boys because I saw an archery target in their yard when I drove by. It may also be because this other guy who hunts on the same land but a different part, a year or two back his brother was mad at him and took his stand and hng clothes by it or something and it may be the moron is targeting the wrong person and if that is the case, I want a major apology after I break his nose(not really) I think the wind will be good for this stand tonight again but I haven't seen deer there for 2 nights now.

Re: I am so mad....this is unreal Ok, some of you are funny and some of you are weird, lol but thanks anyway. Yes, they looked kind of used, I have to admit it but I didn't like stare at them for 10 minutes if that is what you are wondering. I actually calledm om and Andy in Toronto and when they get back, Andy will probably tell the farmer and try to find out who may have done it but I may have an idea. Do you guys think that this incident has wrecked my hunting spot at all? I'm going out otnight but I'm not sure whether to hunt the same stand or move up and hunt a different stand and give the one a rest. Any advice?

Ok, I heado ut to my stand tonight, the wind is perfect. My stand is about 50 yards from a small field edge, the field is surrounded by woods on 3 sides, the other side is another field and tractor path. I'm walking in the field straight towards my stand when I look into the woods to my left and see something white hanging in the tree. I think "What the heck? that is odd" and I walk in to look. You wouldn't believe it, someone purposely, deliberately hung their underwear(size 10 male briefs) in a branch above and next to a bunch of buck rubs! This is about 80-100 yards from my stand, I am so mad and shocked!! I heard of somethign similar before to some guy around here I think but it was because his brother was mad at him. I'm not sure what is going on but this should not be happening in the middle of the country on a farmer's land! I was/am so mad I could almost cry and I almost wasn't going to hunt but I did(didn't see anything anyway). I swear if I find the person who did this, I am going to chew his head off, I am so ticked off. Any of you have some calming words for me?

I was wondering, what weather do you find is best for hunting deer in your area or what kind of weather do you usually get deer in? All my bow deer so far have been gotten on liek the worse days, usually rainy, cold, or snowy. The weather for my area says light drizzle, in low 40s/50s so it looks promising for deer movement but you never know...

While I was gone this weekend, Andy was hunting and he shot a small buck on Saturday. Well he tracked it then couldn't find it, thinking he hit it in the leg. Well last night(Monday) we heard some vultures, walked out to a hedgerow in the field and there was a buck, already eaten by the birdsand animals. i'm glad it wasn't me but it sucks to shoot a deer and find it later. I hate to see meat get wasted. Kind of luck the big buck I shot my very first year of hunting, hit it in the leg, found it a week later, rack sawed off, and body eaten by animals. Anyone ever have a simialr situation?

Re: Deer 2 Me 0 Keep your head up slug, I know how you feel. I saw a doe Sunday and none last night. Andy hit a small buck over the weekend, lost it then found it last night, then he has seen deer every night since.

Re: Buck down!! *Pics are in* That is a nice buck, bb11, big congrats to you!

Ok, this occurred to me on Sunday while walking into my stand. We all hunt for a reason, whether it is for food(because it is so healthy and good for us, not too mention cheap and we are suppose to use God's resources wisely), or for the trophy, or because we love the outdoors and hunting period, or for some other reason I dunno about. What I thought though is why we come back year after year, season after season, to hunt. I think besides those other reasons, it is the pure excitement and adrenaline rush. What other activity provides the rush of a deer walking out broadside, a big rack coming through the trees? For me even squirrel hunting gives me an adrenaline rush, mabe not as big as hunting deer or turkey. We never know what to expect while hunting, it is pure challenge. Hunting is an instinct; man way before us had to hunt to survive. It is the unknown, the adrenaline, the excitement that makes us wait for the opening day to come and we seek more Ok, you can see I'm weird now, lol, but I can't help what my mind comes up with

Re: norm\'s going home.... Wonderful news. I wil lcontinue praying and good luck buddy!!!

Re: Is My buck Sick? Well theb lob could be a result of a Warble, the parasite Bob was talking abou, maybe. In squirrels warbles make these small lumps as they develop and they crawl out as larva/grub things, they are so gross! For the tongue thing, I dunno but maybe he has some type of paralysis or something. He looks to be healthy otherwise, not too mention a nice buck!

Well I missed hunting the opening day of bow season and all of Saturday and Sunday morning this past weekend due to being in the Adirondacks but I was home early enough to go out Sunday evening, saw a doe but she was past my shooting lane, moving fast and it was raining. Last night I saw nothing but 2 tree rats and Andy saw 3 does, 1 small buck and one of the "big" bucks, how come I never see them, lol How are the rest of you NYers doing? I'm going out tonight, would be awesome to get a bow deer all by myself, lol, but wouldn't be cool to have to drag it out. Best of luck to all of you hunting, NYer or not

Re: Possible New PA State Record Taken................ Man oh man, I want to see a deer like that walk below my stand! -
Ok, I know that I shouldn't be feeling this way since after all it is finally deer archery season here in NY and tonight will be my third night out. Well as you all know I was in the Adirondacks this weekend, got back Sunday and to tell you the truth, I miss some of the time I have with my family because this semester has had me so busy that I am at college all day, at night doing homework and on weekends doing more class stuff. Well Andy and mom left today for Toronto,Canada to spend the night and get Chinese food and see the art museum. It sucks because I get home from the Adirondacks and want to be home and they leave so now I miss mom and it is just me and my sister. Of course I am going out hunting tonight so wish me luck on that but I'm being kind of emotional in the library right now, lol. At least I survived my first mid-term exam this semester, but I just want my family. I'll probably cheer up a little later but please pray that Andy and my mom come back safely, I don't like cities because they can be so unsafe sometimes.

Re: First Aid Kits !! I have small one that I carry with me hunting, hiking, and even to school. Well I am certified in Responding to Emergencies and Lifeguarding so it's a good idea. I usually have :moleskin, athletic tape, pre-wrap, several different sizes/shapes of band-aids, tweezers, ibuprofen, gloves, a plastic bag, first aid/antibiotic ointment, First Aid instructions, gauze roll and gauze pags. I think that is it but I have other stuff also.

Ok guys, lets see some shed photos from this spring. We need something to look at in this forum, lol. Here are a few photos of the sheds I found this spring. This is the first shed of 2004 that I found, a nice little "would have been" 4 point right side. This is the second shed of 2004 that I found and the 4 point matching left side to the shed above; found it about 3/4 mile away from the other side. This makes my 4th "shed career" matched set. This is my third shed find of the year and a really nice 3 point right side and one of the largest sheds I've found. This would be a nice buck in my area. This was my fourth shed find of the year but is not a shed from this spring. I think it is a year or more old but is in great shape; a real nice 5 point right side. Found it washed up in a creek bed. I plan to post some other photos when I get them and upload them. I want to show you a better photo of the old shed above and I also found a 5th shed of this spring which is chewed up but a really nice and thick 4 point side. Ok, let's see some others
