  1. Congrats! Nice deer and mount.
  2. Any one out chasing squirrels? Season started Sept. 1 here. I went out that day, actually took a friend out with me but it rained and we never saw anything, but had a good time. Think I'll go out tomorrow AM. Seemed they were hitting Beech and soon should be hitting Hickory. Wil ltake the Ruger.22 with me.
  3. Yep. Got these off my trail cam on the 6th in our woods. First one of the season.
  4. Have not tried them but my Mossberg 20 ga. does well with Hornadys...
  5. Ladies and gentleman....let's see some pics of what you'll be taking to the woods with you this fall. Here's my 2011 Elite Hunter 25" DL 53 lbs
  6. I apologize for the long wait but I'm working on getting something out, to those who sent me addresses. To those who never did, don't whine you never got anything, lol.
  7. Wow, not great news at all! I hope it does stay localized... How did you get onto the email by the way?
  8. How many of you have or are planning any time off around your work schedule? I've already put in for time off in November so essentially I will have a whole 5 days off in a row - Nov. 3-7:) Right smack about when the rut is starting. And if by chance I've filled my bow buck tag, I've got time to turkey and/or goose hunt. And the good news is the opening weekend of shotgun season is during my schedule weekend off, so I won't miss anything, lol:yes:
  9. Take it to a shop.....then make sure you shoot it and everything is ready to go.
  10. Great shots wooly! Like the catepillars!
  11. Checking in here! Cool to see all the NY guys. Cutter...you aren't too far from me...Freedom is about 20 minutes north of me. I like Team Tagged Out as well:)
  12. Forgot to mention I give them about 2 weeks or so in one spot then move to a diff. area.
  13. It's horrible waiting, lol. On average I check mine every about 7-10 days. Once season starts, I'll keep them exclusively in our woods to avoid theft. Right now have one in our woods, one in the woods on the farm we hunt.
  14. Happy belated birthday Kat! Still got your 9 lives;)
  15. Been out a couple times this week with the Kodak Z612 to watch the sunset and watch the bucks...Few nice ones out there: Last Night: Couple nights ago:
  16. You should probably post a photo so we can all approve of your choice;) lol congrats! Be sure to practice alot!
  17. I would like to eventually have a little chunk of land somewhere to hunt, maybe even have a little cabin on it...doesn't even have to have electricity, lol. Anyhow with the property we hunt currently questionable as to if it'll be sold, purchasing a piece of property somewhere is going on the top of my list....maybe even over the ATV,lol. So what goes into finding and purchasing a piece of property, what are some tips and tricks? What have you guys done?
  18. Good News: I went to get my 2011-2012 hunting license and doe permits. the chance of getting a 2nd dmp for my chosen area was low but I put it down anyway. Well I feel God had a hand in it because I got chosen for both doe permits so Iam very happy. It's been the last 2-3 years I've been denied the 2nd permit choice. Bad News: We are driving home, turn onto our road. As we drive past part of the land I have literally grown up and hunted on, we see the big for sale sign:( The farmer we know has been struggling the last couple years...Well now there's an official for sale sign -'395 acres, tillable'. We haven't talked to him to find out if they are selling or the bank took it but I may not have that land to hunt come fall....wait and see, if it gets sold hopefully we'll still be allowed to hunt. And maybe it's just that section of land and the other part they are keeping...But I do my turkey, small game, goose, and deer hunting on this land, so it's a big deal to loose this:-/ It's in God's hands to see what works out.
  19. Was out the other night checking a trail cam. hiking back across this big alfalfa field behind my house and saw this: Our woods in the background: Also saw this in a corner of a field, hope to sit up there and get some better pics but my mouth dropped when I saw what a couple were carrying on their heads, there were 2 def. big guys, esp. the one as you can see:
  20. Well we found a "bew" used car and brought it home yesterday. A 2008 Kia Rondo. My mom will drive it alot, I still get to drive the old Pontiac Grand AM to work. The Kia is like a small mini-van, it's really nice. We can take some trips now:yes: What I told my mom was the back of it is nice, there's no lip to have to bend over to load groceries, so it should be really nice to just slide a deer into....LOL:clown: I got one of those looks...
  21. Delivered my dozen goose shell decoys, goose call, and decoy bag. Can't wait for the geese to start flying:)
