I used to take all my stands down but now that I've gotten older they stay up. I just replace the ratched strap yearly.

What part of Oklahoma are you located? If you are wanting to plant an annual we have lots of options but William is correct--you also need to plant a cool season plot so you can either plant it all in a warm season then disc under what's left of part of your warm season or just plant 1/2 now and the other 1/2 this fall. I like to keep a plot going all the time.

It's amazing as summer gets close to ending we are begging for the arrival of winter and cold weather to get those big bucks moving and now that deer season is over we can't stand it. We had a nice winter storm also here in Oklahoma today. I'm ready for some spring turkey hunting and fishing myself.

They can make a decent duck retriever the biggest problem is they have a hard time handling the real cold water later in the duck season.

Roger's Sporting Goods is the bomb for after season sales. I've dropped a few bucks to them the last month. Stay away from RedHead decoys. I have a couple dozen of the mallard floaters. Great paint scheme but they crack and leak within one season.

I use the blocks or mix my own. Usually use the red loose trace minerals and some di-cal phosp. 2 parts mineral to 1 part di-cal. I read on QDMA that some guys are mixing in some ag lime to the mix. I have never used the pre-mix from the food plot companies.
