  1. I breed a litter or two a year and run hunt tests with my labs. I'm pretty up on lab pedigrees and the pedigrees on these dogs are really nice. It is also nice that this breeders has all the clearances--hips, eyes, eic, and cnm. Yes these pups will cost a bit more but in my opinion it is worth the extra cost to help insure a healthy dog but also you are buying a pup from proven hunting lines. Looks like a good breeder!! good luck with your decision. todd
  2. yes--micro plots strategically placed can be great. Red clover is a good choice. Cereal grains can also be a great choice.
  3. sorry for your loss buddy!

    Jackie Bushman?

I always enjoyed Jackie's show Buckmaster---not so much the "Jackie Bushman Show". His magazine was good but I didn't renew because of all the telemarketing. I haven't been a member of Buckmaster for about 5 years and they still call me.
  5. It is a little over 2 acres. I probably don't have the deer density you have. We average about 15 deer per sq mile. todd
  6. We have had plenty of rain this summer and it has really helped the soybean plot. Last fall I went pheasant hunting in west Texas and I picked up about 10 full ears of corn off the field we were hunting. I didn't know if they were RR or not but I plucked all the kernels off and kept them in a baggy until spring. I tossed the kernels in with the soybeans and planted them. I'm sure plenty of the seeds got eaten by crows but a few survived. Each plant has 2 ears. They are not super big ears but it was fun just to see what it would do. Plenty of deer sign in the soybean plot but the Eagle Beans are keeping up with the deer pressure. todd
  7. I agree---i love just getting on the tractor and mowing. Very relaxing. We have had some great rain this summer. The spring plots are doing awesome and the deer can't keep up with the soybean growth. Should be some nice antlers roaming around this fall.
  8. I've been through 2 splits in my 45 years. Both were over a pasture that part of the church wanted out. The first one I was a child and we followed the pasture to a new church. The last one was about 7 years ago. The pasture had a lot of health issues and after several back surgeries he became addicted to pain meds. He recognized the problem quickly and checked into a rehab. The elders of the church fired him. He started a new church which I went to a few times but decided to make a fresh start with a new church. We love the church we currently go to and the kids love it as well.
  9. welcome to RT. I have always liked EH products. The Rack Force contains clover, alfalfa, and chicory. I don't know what type of weeds you are dealing with but there is a little problem that a lot of people run into when adding chicory to a perennial legume mix. You can use a product such as Poast that will kill all your unwanted grass weeds. For broadleaf problems you can purchase some Butyrac 2000 (2-4D-B). This will not harm your clover or alfalfa but has the ability to kill your chicory. As far as I know there is nothing you can spray for broadleaf weeds that will not potentially hurt the chicory. good luck todd
  10. I know that Ed Spin from QDMA sprays with glyphosate on his clover with good success. I just have never been brave enough to do it. Let us know how it works. Hopefully it will get you nice clean clover plot. good luck!!! todd
  11. maybe he doesn't like okies!!! I have seen that shot before on TV--I just always hope and assume that they know what is on the other side or at least the guide they are with does.

    Granny Passed

sorry for your family's loss. It's a blessing I'm sure to know she didn't suffer and went in her sleep. prayers, todd
  13. awesome commercial. I'm always tempted to turn off the seat belt alarm in my truck as I drive it a lot at the farm and it's annoying but there are times I forget to put it on when on the road and it always reminds me.
  14. hope you had a good one buddy!
  15. Tough one for Cleveland for sure. Home boy leaving home and heading to Miami. The Heat are going to be tough for a while now.

    Duck Commander

They are on the RT Prostaff. A great team!!!
  17. i love the Foile's videos. The guys is a killing machine and previous ones have shown how hard he works at maintaining his duck club. He is a duck/goose killing macine.
  18. the only problem that i have encountered with some of the really fast shells is pattern problems. i love fast shells but make sure they pattern well out of your gun before purchasing a case. good luck.
  19. Martin---your seed blends are going global. That's pretty cool. Shipping would be a killer though for a couple hundred pounds of seed. hope you are doing well. How's the grandbaby? todd
  20. I'm not familiar with that mix. It is hard to beat a ladino clover plot mixed with some chicory. Will last for years if taken care of properly.
  21. That's weird. I've used several different brands of mineral supplements and they all get used. You probably have enough salt in the area you don't need to try anything new. If they need the minerals they will use it.
