Re: about to give in I can feel your frustration. It is tough to manage for mature bucks on smaller pieces of property. On my 80 acres I have been "managing" for 3 years now I have not shot a buck on it yet. My goal was to give it 3 years to see if I could make a difference. The deer sightings are way up and last year I did have once mature buck that frequented for a short time. William---hunting is a passion, a hobby, and suppose to be fun--so enjoy it!!!! Don't let the idea of having to shoot a 4.5 year old buck or older ruin the wonderful experience of hunting. good luck and I'm glad your grower plot is doing well. todd

Re: The V word..... ohio---all ya need is just a little valium. The only 2 bad parts is: 1) when they stick the needle in your jewels to numb them-OUCH, and 2) Once they cut the vas they stick a small electrical cautery probe inside the lumen of the vas and cauterize. That didn't really hurt b/c it is numb but if sent a vibrating sensation all the way up to me neck--kind of wierd feeling. You might as well ask for an extra dose of valium. Don't forget to ask for a few lortabs to help ya thru the weekend. Piece of cake my friend good luck todd

Re: The End of an Era As I have aged I have learned to appreciate the time I get to spend with my father. He doesn't hunt anymore but is always willing to help me hang a stand, build a food plot, and he loves helping me track a deer. You will always have the hunting memories you enjoyed with your father. Donating the bow is a great gesture. todd

Re: I need a gate hmmm----I got mine at a place called Lumber 2. Have you checked at home depot and lowes? A lot of feed stores will carry gates also. Sometimes the big stores like Lowes or HOme Depot can special order you one. todd
